Nice watch, the tech needs time for perfecting
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very nice watch, though many of the features/technology seem impractical at this point in time. The heart rate monitor/step counter is not accurate. It is a beautiful watch, and the quality is good. The idea of this tech is awesome, but it will take some time before it is practical and not something most people leave sitting on the nightstand. I suppose it depends on the person's lifestyle/reason for purchasing it, but I would assume for most, like myself, it is just another unnecessary toy. I bought it to monitor my health, but until it can accurately count steps, BPM, etc. it is pointless to own beyond the phone in my pocket.

Great for what it's made for
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch is an absolute steal. I've had no problems with it since I've gotten it and I have no doubt that it'll continue working well for a long time. Even though it was technically outdated when I bought it, it still has most of the really important features that it's successor has, and at a much lower price. If you're like me and value a more minimal design compared to the regular Galaxy Watch, you'll love this one. My only real gripe is that since it doesn't have a raised bezel like the Galaxy Watch, you have to be much more careful to not scratch the screen.

Battery
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from trying The fitbit Versa #Greatbatterylife I am a little disappointed with the battery life of the Active. However, this is my OnLY complaint with this watch. Everything else one ups the versa. I have used the Galaxy Watch as well and thought I would miss the rotating bezel....but, nope. Not missed one bit. I switched to the active from the Galxy watch for the size. I am petite 5 feet with 9 year old wrist...lol. Not disppointed at.all. I dont miss the phone use at all as I never really used it with my last Galaxy Watch. 4 stars because of battery life not the best. Almost 2 days as the versa I would get almost 5 days.

Awesome watch looks good.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought it for the wifey, shes picky about these smartwatches out here. Especially since the ones Samsung makes are too big for my girl (5'8). But when I bought her this one, size was just perfect, loced the feature is has similar to the Gear's, can do everything it can. Some features tou can't but for the most part it does things for you you don't have struggle with. Answer calls, reply to messages, play music, take picture's, which it pretty much the basic things people use now of days. Price is not bad worth the price of the device. Overall happy, glad she didn't make me return it.

Great 1st generation watch except for the battery
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch has plenty of features, is comfortable, pretty accurate for counting steps, and is very customizable on the watch or from the phone. The battery life is surprisingly poor. If I do not charge it every night, it will die the next day. The power saving mode is good and barely uses any battery, and it will still count steps, so I still give it a 4 for that reason. For the price and compatibility with my Galaxy S9+ I would recommend it and buy one again if I needed to. I wish it worked with their fast charger. It takes hours to charge it back up.

Great for tracking workouts
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first smartwatch/activity tracker and it has not disappointed! I chose a watch face (they are many options) that was geared towards my fitness needs as I recently started a more rigorous training regimen. The watch is great at recognizing workouts and tracking my activities. I also look seeing my sleep breakdown in the mornings. Only slight drawback is the battery life, on my current settings it can last almost 2 straight days without charging. I've just gotten into the habit of charging it while I'm in the shower and that has been good enough to keep it going.

Very good watch, battery life should be better.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this to replace an aging Samsung Gear S2. I have smaller wrists, and the Watch Active is a very nice size. I thought I would miss the rotating bezel, but I don't. The watch is very light, fast and responsive. The screen is absolutely gorgeous. I've had it for over a month and the aluminum case has held up nicely (no scratches, nicks, etc.) Bixby works o.k., understands basic commands. (It is better than S Voice on the Gear S2, but I would have preferred Google Assistant). Controlling music (on your phone or watch) is very easy. Starting workouts is very easy, and I found fairly accurate. GPS works well and seems to be fairly accurate. Notifications come across quickly and reliably. Now on to the negatives. Battery life is average to below average. My wife has a Fitbit Versa and gets 4-5 days on a single charge. The Galaxy Watch Active gets a little more than a day. If you use it for sleep tracking, you may want to top off the battery either before you sleep or when you get up. Step tracking is better than the Gear S2, but if you've looked into Samsung's algorithm for step tracking, it won't start tracking your steps until you walked 25 to 35 steps. I have a Fitbit Flex I wear on the same arm, and the step count by the end of the day on the Watch Active is usually 1000 to 2000 steps difference. I don't rely on the actual step count. I just use the step count to see if I've been active enough. If you need actual step counts, you might want to look elsewhere. Flights of stairs climbed is absolutely horrible. The Watch active only records flights of stairs above 10 ft. My wife and I do approximately the same number of stairs each day. Her watch will report anywhere from 10 to 20. The Watch Active, Zero. All activity can be viewed on the Watch or Samsung Health. I prefer FitBit's app, but Samsung Health isn't all that bad. I found I wanted more of a smart watch than activity tracker. For me, the Galaxy Watch Active fit the bill. I considered this watch, the FitBit Versa, and the new Watch Active 2. The Watch Active 2 is $80 more, and out of my price range. For the same price, if you want more of an activity tracker with some smart watch capability, I would suggest you look at the new FitBit Versa 2 (or previous FitBit Versa's). I did quite a bit of research prior to purchasing the watch. As a result, I knew going in, what most of the negatives about the watch would be. If it had better battery life, I would have given it 5 stars (even with all the other negatives.)

Love at first sight
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cute and easy to navigate. Pairs well with my galaxy phone. Just the right size...not too big or too small. The only thing i would say to consider is the battery life is greatly dependent on the active features you have on the watch. I found the best results selecting only what i really wanted on the watch. Lastly, i can't sleep with a watch on. I take it off and charge it. For those who monitor sleep ect...this could be problematic. Personally, I love the watch and all of its features. Hope my review was helpful.

I'm in love!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far this watch has exceeded my expectations. This IS my first smartwatch, and did a lot of research before I chose one, and I dont regret it. Set up was easy, and the watch teaches you how to use it. I love how you can keep track of your sleep cycles, and is very in depth. The fitness aspect is also really cool. It knows what you're doing and logs every thing you do physically like running, hiking, swimming, even push ups. Also has goals you can set to keep you on your toes. I am absolutely in love with this watch!

Its Fine
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good starter watch if you want some notification alerts and standard health tracking. It did the job but lacked some of the newer features. I had this for less than a year before upgrading to the 4 because I wanted something newer. Definitely lasted through a few beatings and washings at work with no protection. The stock band was comfy enough and I didn't feel the need to immediately replace it like I did the the 4

The FitBit You Really Need
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not gonna go crazy over this one, as I've already written an extensive review already, which I will place a link for it at the bottom of this one. I will say that if you're coming from a previous Galaxy watch or Gear S3, you're getting a down grade. however, if you're new to to the Galaxy/ Gear line of smartwatches, this is a great entry point. I personally believe that it's better( definitely cheaper ) than the Fitbit. So I would totally go for this one. Here's a link to my full online review. Give it look. Then go buy your new smartwatch. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uscgn596kkiB11cJAAuzI01tjZPR8wosXDdtQaeypNs/edit?usp=sharing

Great watch!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch is a good size on your wrist. Not small but not too big like some watches out there. The round face gives you room for lots of information all in one easy glance at your watch. I really like the fact I can control music (change from song to song and more) played on my phone without picking up the phone. It's also very handy for checking text and emails, and you can reply to them from the watch. It also tracks your fitness goals pretty well but I mostly like it for the functions connected to your phone.

Great looking smartwatch!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After looking around at some smartwatch options I came across the Galaxy Watch Active. I was looking to purchase two of these and when I saw the discounted price I jumped on it. It has all the features a basic smartwatch would offer with the styling to match that of a more premium device. Overall we are very pleased with out purchase and would recommend this device for those wanting to get into the smartwatch accessory without wasting time with some cheaper alternative.

Excellent Watch for activity tracking
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Samsung watch. I had switched to Fitbit for the sleep tracking for a few years, but since this watch has it I switched back. Both fitbits I had failed just after the one year mark, so I've had enough of those. At $200 the Samsung is superior to my $300 ionic in functionality. This is very similar in style to the gear S2 from 2015 which was my last Samsung watch. I had thought about the Galaxy Watch but it was kind of bulky. This sport model is sleeker and I can navigate just fine without the rotating bevel.

The good and bad!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this watch mostly because some of the features... I have always been a Fitbit kinda gal, then decided to finally get one of these now that it's smaller and no bezel which is more appealing to me. Pros: -I love the pool option for laps and for exercises. Also the fact that it locks to be able to swim with no worries!! -Also how I can answer the phone, even though I can't speak through it but by just answering it on my watch with my Bluetooth attached and not having to dig in my purse for my cell is also great!! -The watch faces have huge selection with the Fitbit it was limited to like 4-5 only. -LOVE LOVE how quickly it charges, when I forget to charge it I know I can place to charge and in 15 min get up to over 50%. -When I took the watch out of the box the first thing I notice was how smaller it vs the Fitbit. -The watch has been good so far to an extent it tracks my steps, my calories, and gives me reminders when I haven't moved. - This watch is totally new to me, I'm still learning the basics of it. - Sleep tracking is nice to have so every week you can see if you need to get to sleep more or less. Cons: -I've read so far from others that the bezel was a negative. To me the watch face looks really nice as it now. The bezel is really thick around the screen, and to me is much bigger which is why I never bought before . -The Galaxy wearable and Samsung health app's are nice to use on your phone but are very confusing to me in my own opinion. It's not easy to change the settings of the watch from the phone as I would like. They had advertised watch you tube but had to download a 3rd party app. They're still are decent apps to have but I wish they were a bigger and better selection. -The battery life is less than two days depends on the notifications I have set up it can be 1 day to 1.5 days. But it's ok so far I charge it during me watching TV so it doesn't interfere with my steps or my sleep. -I hate that every time I look at my watch it is zoomed in that makes it hard to return back to normal even if I tap 3 times on the screen, and it's very annoying to have to do it many times a day. -Still getting the hang of responding to texts with my finger, or screen its only been a month so still learning.

works great, keeps me in touch 24/7
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a fitness watch to record daily steps, heartrate and sleep patterns. For that it does great ! As a bonus, I can monitor my phone calls, text messages and e-mail. That bonus saves me a lot of time checking on nuisance calls and advertising texts/emails. Only down side is that the battery runs down fairly fast if you receive messages all day long. Still, the charger works quickly. I charge it up when I am getting ready in the morning and it lasts easily several days.

I like the watch, not the app
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought my Active watch to replace my old TomTom fitness watch. Initially I thought I had made a bad decision, but now that I have had it for almost 2 months I am very pleased with it. The watch is extremely comfortable and does not feel bulky at all - even for someone with a small wrist like I have. And I enjoy all the features on it - music playing, bluetooth connectivity, notifications, watch faces, etc. I have an iPhone but apparently there are even more features available if it is paired with a Samsung phone. There are a couple of negatives though. When going for a run, it takes a while before the GPS picks up - sometimes over a 1/4 of a mile. With my TomTom, I could tell it was going for a run and wait for the GPS signal to connect. That does not seem like a capability of the Active watch. Also, the app needs some work. It does not connect to MyFitnessApp automatically. I have to log out of Samsung Health and log back in every time for the two apps to connect with each other. And I do not use the always on feature, which can be frustrating at time when I turn my wrist but the face does not light up. Sometimes it takes a few wrist twists to get it to work. So it is not a 5-star watch, but for the price it is pretty good and meets all of my needs.
