Nice Looking Watch and Decent Health Tracking
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice watch. The heart rate monitor is often grayed out while running. It also measured way under what the treadmill, my connected UA shoes, versa, and applewtch says, usually by almost a full mile. The GPS works well and Bluetooth is also good. Spotify integration is nice too. Battery life is sub-par. If you run for an hour without your phone, listening to spotify on your bluetooth headphones, you will need a charge right when your done (if you make it). It is one of the most comfortable of the fitness watches. I personally think it is great looking watch. The versa is a better watch for me but i never used it with a Samsung phone (iphone and oneplus 6t). The Galaxy watch is much better looking than the Versa though (I dont like sqare watches very much). Improve the battery, step tracking accuracy, and let me take a call on the watch and it will be a 5/5.

Beautiful Design, Lousy Battery Life
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I purchased this watch, I agonized over which one to buy; the active or the active 2. The on-line reviews for both were very good and similar in functionality. Ultimately I decided on the active because of the price difference and how gorgeous the rose gold looked. Unfortunately after wearing the watch for three weeks I discovered some critical flaws: battery life and heart rate monitor. The watch wouldn't carry more than 30 hours of battery life and it felt like I was always having to place the watch on the charger throughout the day. This was particularly annoying when I went on travel for two days and forgot to bring the charger with me. The second issue I discovered was the heart rate monitor failed to detect my heart rate a quarter of the time. When I spoke to the Best Buy sales associate about this, they mentioned that this was a common complaint with customers because of the flat design of the watch. I finally decided to return the watch and purchase an active 2. Best Buy was fantastic about accepting my return and didn't give me ANY HASSEL which I really appreciated. BLUF- The active is a beautifully designed watch, but not very practical if you don't find yourself near a charger all day.

So far, so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm optimistically happy. I say this because these Samsung watches tend to be really good until about a year in, coincidentally, just as the warranty expires. I'm getting great battery life, i.e. it doesn't die before the day is over. The heart rate monitor gives me a different reading then my Gear Fit 2, I can't tell which one is off, except to say this one seems more realistic than the Fit..it had me pretty much brain dead all day. This one is just the opposite...almost to a concerning point with the wild swings. I like the size. It's not really bulky like the Frontier, and gives more screen space than the Fit. It's just the right size.

Nice watch, the tech needs time for perfecting
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very nice watch, though many of the features/technology seem impractical at this point in time. The heart rate monitor/step counter is not accurate. It is a beautiful watch, and the quality is good. The idea of this tech is awesome, but it will take some time before it is practical and not something most people leave sitting on the nightstand. I suppose it depends on the person's lifestyle/reason for purchasing it, but I would assume for most, like myself, it is just another unnecessary toy. I bought it to monitor my health, but until it can accurately count steps, BPM, etc. it is pointless to own beyond the phone in my pocket.

Good smart watch for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from a gear fit 2. The OS on this watch is much better with more features. Wish it had a speaker like the regular Galaxy Watch but its worth giving up for the price reduction. As others stated it would look better without such a large bezel around the screen. I get about two days on one charge. My watch came with the heart rate monitor set to always on, which drains the battery. Just make sure to set it to every 10 minutes.

Great watch at discount price
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GPS works and can play spotify while running without taking my phone. Heart Rate monitor is sometimes inconsistent but is relativley in line with what I would expect. Doesn't come with a speaker but I kenw that going in. At sale price I got it at of 120$ it is feature rich and was well worth it.

Samsungs best yet except...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really liked the smaller form-factor of this watch..didn't miss the rotating bezel at all... same high Samsung quality as the Galaxy Watch. I NEVER have the syncing issues with Samsung and my Galaxy S8 phone like I do with my Fitbit Versa.... BUT... this watch has the same Issue I had with the Galaxy Watch... terrible accuracy on the heart rate monitor... my normal resting heart rate is between 58-60bpm.... at rest, the Samsung would show my BPM anywhere from 70 to 240! Also, during my daily 4 mi walk, The watch would frequently stop showing a heart rate at all, or jump to 240..occasionally it would give an accurate reading of 120-132... so, I returned it and am still using Fitbit..... everything else worked fine... calls, text msgs..steps and floors counted etc. Unfortunately, I had to return it.

Love having a smartwatch!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OveI got this watch as a Christmas present from my husband. It is a good watch overall. My issues are that I didn't realize when I asked for it that i wouldn't be able to talk on the watch itself, sweat interferes with the heartrate monitor, and i now have a hard time scrolling through screens. I can answer or reject calls from the watch, bug I was hoping to be able to talk on it in a pinch. I love that I can text from it, though. Sometimes you cang reach your phone and just want to respond real fast to someone. This watch makes that possible. I like the step counter and how it will recognize when you are working out after 10 minutes of activity.

Fantastic Watch!!
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch is so amazing!! I rely on it more as time goes by!! I wear it when I'm swimming and it keeps track of my laps!! It counts my steps when I walk and it let's me know when I have messages on my phone!! It connected seamlessly with my Samsung phone. It monitors so many things for me and keeps me updated on basics - time and date. I am looking forward to an update that will allow the watch to give me more readings on my heart. Overall an excellent buy!!

Very good watch
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been mostly satisfied with this watch. There are many free watch faces to choose from including fancier looking faces to sporty ones. Works well when connected to a Samsung device and passes notifications easily. Only gripe I have is that the heart rate monitor doesn't work well if its not really tight during workouts and gets wet from sweat.

Love my smart watch
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seamlessly connects to my phone. I never have the connectivity issues I had with my fitbit. The heart rate monitor is not as responsive as the fitbit was, but it still measures in regular intervals and is very accurate.

It's okay
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this watch and I got lots of compliments. My issue is the heart rate monitor seems not accurate to compare to my hr Fitbit. I did try to put the watch on my left and Fitbit on my right and have a different reading which the Samsung reading was higher than the Fitbit. To make sure which one is accurate I checked my hr using the insignia oximetry and the findings were insignia and my Fitbit has almost the same reading. For the activity like walking or running it seems okay.

Very good looking
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty good looking, but the actual color is more like black than green shown in pictures. HR reading is not accurate. Very good for smartwatch, but good for fitness tracking.

Don't buy for tracking treadmill activity
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace and update an aging garmin watch. I run on the treadmill and outside. When I used this to track my treadmill workout, the calories burned seemed way off, so I checked it with a chest strap heart rate monitor connected to my treadmill and with my Garmin Forerunner 35 watch. The galaxy watch active was always 300 to 400 calories low for a one hour run. I asked Samsung how to fix this and after a 6 day wait for a response their reply was that the galaxy watch active doesn't use heart rate or step count to calculate calories. They said whether you go 3 km per hour or 7 km per it will show the same calories burned. I asked if there is a way to change this so it actually uses heart rate and steps rather than just time, and user information. I have been waiting 3 days with no response. I finally just returned the watch while I could still get a full refund. I don't want a watch that won't do what it is supposed to do and what I bought it for. It is a great smartwatch, just not a good activity tracker for treadmill workouts.

Wanted to love it, but mostly annoyed with it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love my galaxy so I really wanted to love this watch but I really am ambivalent toward it. Takes way too long to charge. Apps arent too plentiful. The worst part of this watch? the exercise tracker is trash. I have been running with the running mode on and it has told my heart rate is 65 and decreasing all the way down to 35, which would have been the lowest heart rate I have ever recorded. The heart rate tracker is garbage. I end up adjusting it and trying to fiddle with it to get an accurate gauge so long that i end up resting a good portion of my exercise. I got this because the heart rate monitor I have (accurate) does not have too many apps it is compatible with. I wish I could return this but it's too late now.

Some features don’t work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disappointed that the heart rate monitor doesn’t work well. I bought this for my elderly father to help him keep track of his heart rate and it doesn’t work well. The readings are very off at times. Not reliable.

Not great for fitness
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using this watch for over a month. I exchanged it for a new one. I got this mainly for the "fitness" aspect of it. The only thing I really like are the notifications from my phone, I can text back from the watch, and the GPS is pretty good. Then only time it seems to tracks steps and heart rate properly is when I have a workout activated. I returned my first one because the HR monitor seemed to stop working. I will probably be returning this one as well and getting the Galaxy Watch Active 2.
