Overall I love this watch and I would purchase it again. My only complaint is the battery life. It claims to last 3 days but that must be if you disable all the features. Mine lasts 24 hours and I charge it every night when I get home from work so that I can wear it overnight for the sleep tracker. I have always on disabled and sense workout disabled and wifi disabled, and it gave me an extra hour or two of battery life. It's great in every other way and I love that you can control Spotify on it and that it connects to Samsung health on my phone.

Just to give a background, I am coming from an Apple Watch series 1, but had purchased an Apple Watch 3 that was a refurb model, but returned when Samsung announced this watch. I also switched to a Samsung phone. Many say the downside to this watch is not being able to play music or take phone calls. Where my husband works, he has an employee do this on his apple watch and say it is not all it is cracked up to be. I understand people want it to answer calls while away from their phone, or to listen to music, but I am the type of person that unless I am in my home (which I would use headphones or use a bluetooth speaker) I had no use for either. Not having a speaker is great for me. It had a bit of a learning curve for me, as I had my apple watch for nearly 3 years and I hate change, but I have figured out a lot of what I need to do with this watch. My purchase was for fitness and a smart watch to alert me when I got a text or a phone call as I tend to leave my phone in one place or in my purse and may not hear my phone alerts or even hear it ring for a phone call. The watch vibration is enough to get my attention to get to my phone and respond or answer. I tend to charge my watch every day and a half, but I did get through two days but was at 20% battery by 8 pm the second day and that was after using the watch for two different hour and a half workouts. My old apple watch would not even get through a full day. The apple watch 3 I had briefly did last longer than a day, but on long workouts it drained the battery more than this is drained. For the price point for a new smart watch that is wearing very well, and is great for a petite lady with small wrists, I totally recommend this. The other Samsung Galaxy watches were just going to be too large on my wrists.

Purchased this watch in 2020.. its just now giving me problems 8/2023

I wanted a more reasonably priced smart watch and this is definitely it. No problems with it at all. Love that it comes with 2 different sized bands. I have a Galaxy 9, so I have no trouble with receiveing and sending texts from the watch. My favorite use for the watch is "find my phone". Even when my phone it on silent or vibrate, it rings to help me find it. This is definitely a great choice

I got the Samsung smart active watch and I charged it and the 24 hrs later I need to recharge the battery. I kept thinking it said 5 days but when I call Samsung they said 48 hrs. I told them I am only getting 1 day of normal use without adding anything else to this. I hope when I get the next one it will last. The battery doesn't last 5 days. Other than that it's been good over all.

I was looking for a wear os watch since I use android. The fossil sport watch battery was fair and did not track sleep. This watch paired easily with my note9 and has all of the tracking features that I wanted. Samsung pay works great, battery lasts a solid 2 days and is quick to respond to touch and open each app. Perfect size watch for anyone. I recommend it!

Lasted about 3 years and 9 months. Puchased 12/29/20. Held up through the water, sweat, dust, dirt, heat and cold. Recently 09/14/23 an update went out and now the watch froze up, went to restart it and is now not turning back on today.

I was all iphone and apple watch, until the Samsung Galaxy S10 came out and I realized I wanted more customization. I got the phone and the new Galaxy Watch active. The watch is great! Very easy to use and very similar in look and feel to the apple watches. Does everything I need it to do, and was super easy to setup. I would recommend this product!

I was excited to upgrade my fitness watch to the new Galaxy Active. However, by the end of the 1st day I was highly disappointed. After 5 days I returned it. Pros: -It's very comfortable, you hardly know it's there - Screen was easy to navigate - When doing circuit training through the app the watch buzzes at the end of each interval Cons: - Battery didn't last even 24 hours. After making some adjustments I was able to get it to last about a day and a half. Likely could have gotten more, but I didn't want to give up functionality. - Didn't properly record my sleep. I usually go to bed around 8, it consistently recorded me going to sleep at 11:30 and the option to change it/manually enter sleep in the Samsung Health app wouldn't work. - It would take steps away when syncing with the app. I had 4500 steps on my watch and 3400 in the app. When the watch synced with the app it brought my steps down to 3400. I was wondering my my step count was lower than usual. - Unable to sync the watch with other apps

I won't comment on the functionality much -- the couple of days I had it, it worked just as well as my Samsung Frontier, and you can read tons of reviews about how it works. The reason I returned this was that it was really, really small. Most smartwatches seem to come in two sizes -- 42mm and 46mm. I have a small wrist, so I was looking for something smaller to replace my massive 46mm Frontier. I saw that the Active was 40mm and thought, "2mm won't be that much smaller than a 42mm watch..." ... Sorry, but it just looked a little silly on my wrist, like a toy. I did appreciate the diminished weight, but it looked like I was wearing a child's watch. Again, I have small wrists, and it still looked funny. Maybe I've just grown so used to the 46mm watch, though my wife agreed that it looked odd. So, if you're looking for a tiny watch, then this will work great for you. The smaller screen is a bit of a hindrance -- after having a larger screen, you really do notice the amount of text that's cut off, but if you're looking for a smaller watch, there's really no way around that.

I had high hopes for this watch. I'm replacing my aged forerunner, and wanted to give this a shot. I have a note 9, and figured I'd stay in the same ecosystem. While the watch has a good design and great screen, it fall short on components essential to a fitness tracking watch. The heart rate sensor is very unreliable. I had times where it just flatlined, leading to spotty results. And you can't pair a chest strap to it. That alone killed it for me. However, the biggest heel of the deal. The battery life is bad. Like apple watch 1 bad. It would drain up to 75% of its battery in less than a day. And this was just tracking steps and activity at work. Workouts drained it much worse. Even just navigating screens, I watched it dwindle. I returned for the Garmin Viviactive 3 music. A bit more expensive, but worth it.

The watch worked less than a year, It claimed to be water proof but died once it got wet.
