I love my smart watch! I can text but can't answer phone call unless I use my bluetooth! It counts my steps while I do my zumba class.! If you have a Samsung phone it easy connects. So easy to use for beggers like me....

Finally a nice size smartwatch for petite wearers!

Although the Galaxy Active is a nice looking watch with awesome features, I am very disappointed in Samsung's dismissive approach to its obvious issues of not counting FLOORS or accurate STEPS..(after all, if this is a fitness watch, why would it not?) I am a Samsung user through and through and always loved my products. I am frustrated with this because when I called Samsung support regarding this issue, they acted as though this was only an issue on my end and instructed me to "reset" my device. This obviously did not work. I was instructed to send it in for "repair" and now am waiting for the outcome. In the meantime, I purchased another figuring maybe mine was defective, (knowing I could return it), and guess what? Same issue!! I hope Samsung gets this right, because in all other areas it's perfect!

    Workout Watch?

I swam and did spinning class with this watch. Worked well swimming, counted laps correctly for freestyle, not so much for backstroke and regular kicking with kick board. Spinning with it was annoying, it kept alerting me that it was paused while I was still working out. Recorded a 28 min work out that was actually 56. Contacted customer support and they advised that unlike the other watch that has a bezel this one does not have an option to turn off or on the auto pause option. Very disappointing. Battery doesn't last more then a day if you use it for working out.

    A remote with fitness apps

I was so happy when I got this since I previously bought my husband the big Galaxy watch and wanted a smaller version for myself. What a let down... there is no speaker on this so you cannot call people or listen to music. I see now why it's called the "Active". Its only good at using fitness apps and it's only good for that, not great. You can use it to answer your phone that's in your purse or pocket which makes no sense. If you're going to have to pick up your phone to speak, why the heck would you want the ability to remotely call/answer? What a joke.

    Nice but....

I bought this watch because of the promised features and it is a very nice watch: good looking, well built, nice size and good price. However, for me, there are two major drawbacks, both of which might soon be addressed. The battery barely makes it through 24 hours if you are very careful with viewing, settings, etc. Initally, I didn't get 20 hours out of it. Because of the time it takes to charge, 24 hours straight of use is a stretch. Secondly, help is not yet available in English, and the manual on the website is for a different model (there is no bezel on this watch). Until the battery life is addressed, I cannot recommend this watch.

Bad manufacturing isn't covered under warranty

I had this watch for 3 or 4 months before I started having issues. It started with rapid battery loss and shortly after became outright unusable. I sent the watch in to the warranty center and they came back saying the warranty was void. They claimed there was water damage that isn't covered. They asked me for 220 to repair it. The whole marketing for this watch is being water resistant up to 50m and that it can be used to track swimming workouts. I've never even showered with it. This watch isn't safe to wash your hands with apparently. I tried calling to make things right but nobody seemed to know who I need to talk to. I spent probably a total of 8 hrs on the phone trying to fix this to no avail.

I switched from my trusty old Fitbit to this, since I just got the Galaxy S10. The watch itself is the perfect size and I love the apps. But I hate the step counter, which is a big part of why I wear it. I can walk around my house and the counter will not move unless I'm swinging my arms. I read reviews on other Samsung watches and I guess this is a known issue that Samsung chooses to ignore. I prefer my cheap Fitbit over this.

First Impression---- Hmmm.... I'm Not Sure

So I wanted something to track fitness, but I loved the fact that it did show texts and look sleek, but didn't cost as much as Samsung's newest actual smartwatch. The 2 biggest things that I have found that I am concerned with and I am hoping I learn to figure out... 1) The biggest thing that I saw this morning is when I was walking on the treadmill the watch was supposed to be tracking my time ***it IS a fitness watch, right?** well the dang thing kept pausing itself. it really was making me angry. my arms were swinging. I was walking, but I kept feeling it vibrating...on and off..on and off....why. I had walked 2 miles on the treadmill in an hour, but by the time I got off my watch told me I had walked .41 of a mile. THIS IS NOT GOOD..... I am hoping there is some setting I can change. Someone out there can help me? 2) Battery Life. I woke up at 4am to get on the treadmill....by 3pm I had to put the watch on Life Saver or whatever because it was about to die....I thought it was going to have a day or something. I didn't play on the thing all day as I was at work....so that is pretty cruddy.

I've been an Apple guy since the first IPhone. This is my first Android wearable and I loved it. The battery life is way longer than Apple Watch and all the fitness trackers work well. The downside (for me) was that it's too small and the considerably large useless bezel is disappointing. I ended up exchanging it for the 46mm Galaxy Watch. I'm not knocking the phone, I would recommend it to anyone. It just wasn't for me.

I have had my watch for two years now, lts a very cute and durable smartwatch the color goes with every outfit I have wore. l like the fact it fits my small wrist. I bought extra changeable face plates so it looks fashionable. I'm not disappointed at all.

Too Small and where's the BP Lab

The small screen makes it very difficult to read while running. Navigating with the touchscreen is also very difficult while running. When using all the features the battery barely lasts a day. I found myself charging it morning and night. The sleep tracking was decent, would even recognize when I took an afternoon nap. Was also good at recognizing when I would start running or cycling but that's about it. I ended up returning after one week. Wasn't bad as an everyday watch but was useless as a running watch. Also, was never able to use the Blood Pressure feature. Was told by My BP Lab that you also need a compatible phone which the S8 is not.

    Keeps Me Motivated

This is my first smartwatch so I was a little apprehensive when I made this purchase. After using it for three weeks I absolutely love it. It motivates me to keep moving when I am at work sitting at my computer for most of the day. Every afternoon I try and walk at least 3.5 miles and I set it for a walking activity, This watch has everything!

A little lacking as a fitness tracker...

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It fits great and the battery time is more than adequate for me. It tracks walking/running perfectly, as well as basic monitors like heart rate / pulse. I like the majority of the built in apps and connectivity (bluetooth/wifi) is very good. HOWEVER... If you want this to track your swimming (laps)-- LOOK ELSEWHERE! This thing is terrible at tracking laps in the pool. I've observed superior tracking ability by almost all its competitors as I swim 5 days a week. You get short laps, missed laps, extra laps (it's kinda all over the place and is in no way competitive in the market for this). Also, it's often not good at tracking weight exercises (mainly lifts and presses-- seems fine with curls) and it sometimes misses counting lunges. In general, it's a really nice smart watch that's just barely adequate as a fitness tracker, which is a little ironic, considering it's called "Active."
