Love this watch!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The galaxy watch active 2 has proven to be top notch! I love the comfortof wearing it and the apps it provides. The only negative I have about this product is battery life is somewhat low this watch under normal use needs recharging about once a day where my old watch (fitbit) held a charge for almost a week! Other than that this watch has exceeded my expectations!

A great smart watch
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a Fitbit for the past 2 years, but wanted to branch out to something a bit different. Since I already have a Samsung phone, I decided to try the Samsung watch. I love how nicely it pairs with the phone and phone calls through the watch are crystal clear. It automatically detects when I'm starting an exercise and I appreciate that. The only downfall I've found is that my sleep is not recorded as accurately as the Fitbit. I miss being able to really dive into my sleep patterns. For the first few weeks I don't think it was getting any of my deep sleep, but after messing with the settings I was able to get it to record some. It still has me getting much less deep sleep than I was recording with the Fitbit. Battery life is also a huge draw back. I only charged my Fitbit 2x a week. With the watch I'm charging morning and night to keep myself in the safe zone. A few times I forgot have left me out and about with a dead watch.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm giving 4 stars because I'm still learning it's features. I only have two complaints so far. First one is the battery. It seems to need charged daily if I use it for more than checking my steps, time or to just preview a notification. Secondly, it's not compatible with Amazon Music. Size is good, I thought it would be to bulky but it is not and I have pretty small wrists. I took a few pictures of the different widgets available.

Love/hate
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cons: The screen scratched SO easily. I don't even know how. I was cleaning the house, just normal stuff, I woke up today and it looks like I ran over it with sandpaper. Definitely need a screen protector! The battery life isn't great if you actually use the watch as a smartwatch. I have to charge it for at least 1.5 hours daily. Pros: I love the features. Love the apps. love the size and the look. Love the strap, it's really comfortable. I went from a 1.5 year old Fitbit ionic. I wore that day and night constantly, only plugged it in while showering and never had a problem or a flat battery. But I hated the design. It had one small scratch after 1.5 years or constant use. I expected better from Samsung.

Wife loves it!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my wife and she loves it. She likes keeping up with her steps and she loves that she doesn't miss messages or calls anymore. The only thing she doesn't like is the battery life, but we turned off certain notifications from apps that were not that important and it helped with the battery consumption. She also likes that she can customize the bands.

Beautiful and functional
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love almost everything about this watch! The look...classy and beautiful. The function ality--this watch does absolutely everything I need it to do. Fave features-GPS, messaging, speaker, built in Spotify! Why not 5 stars? Battery life could be improved upon. Mine lasts for a little less than a day when I use it heavily. Would I buy it again? In a heartbeat!! I love this watch! I used to have the apple watch but switched phones. I miss my iphone but I do NOT miss my apple watch!

This watch is great.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love my galaxy active 2 smart watch. It works prefect for everything I need and has some many options that I haven't even came across yet. The only reason I'm given it a 4 star is because the battery life kinda sucks. Mine only lasts maybe 48 tops. I would definitely recommend this watch for anyone just remember keep your charger close.

Samsung vs Garmin
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am around 50 and have had multiple smart watches from Samsung and Garmin. I have always used Samsung phones and currently have the Note 10+ Garmin: best battery life and activity tracking, hands down, when compared to Samsung. I had fenix5 and it's too heavy and ironically the heartrate accuracy suffered because of that. My opinion. It is very premium and expensive. No touch on fenix5 either. Samsung has 2 to 3 day battery, way better smart watch interface, good build quality, but S3 and Galaxy Watch were too heavy for general use and accuracy of heartrate was not good. My experience. Active 2. Decided to try since the size and weight are more what I like. I also have a Vivoactive 4 and Active 2 is probably a little more comfortable, but they are similar in feel on wrist. I have had it one week, but hear me out, I have had many of these, as mentioned, and I settle in quickly once configured. I have completed 2 GPS runs, 2 Other Workouts, 1 Cardio, and 2 treadmill in the first week. I dont use the built in weight lifting functions. They are a little hokie. Hokie on Garmin too. GPS accuracy had been on par with garmin in terms of consistency. It can vary by 10 feet at times, but mostly tracks pretty close. Being winter, I have not done a bike ride, but have had two previous Samsung watches and expect it to perform as previous ones have. Heartrate. It is probably better than my previous samsung watches, but it still seems to have issues early in a workout. I wait the 30 seconds to let the watch make sure it has GPS and heartrate lock before beginning, but watch will overestimate my baseline heartrate at beginning jumping up to 100 to 125 bpm before I have even started. Same for other workout types. It is almost like the algorithm is trying to anticipate your HR rising. It's a little shaky at beginning and I have had a couple times its shot to 180+ so I check by hand and more in my typical max of 165. I do use a heart strap with garmin which watch connects to. Have to use Health app for samsung. Watches just aren't good for HR with weight lifting, lots of floor work interval training. Overall, so far, the HR has seemed to stabilize and unless you are a serious athlete it's probably pretty good. These things are tools, not perfect at all. Since I have owned my first 6 years ago, they are very motivating and good to see your workout history, estimate of calories, and heartrate data. Battery: I set 30% display brightness and always on display OFF and wear it 24/7 tracking sleep, do not disturb at night, but wear 24/7 with sleep tracking. I use the wrist turn for display. I get a fair number of emails per day from several email accounts (maybe 50 per day) and some text messages. I am not a social media notification type. First couple days as you play with it, exercise, etcetera, I got just short of two days. I am now in third charging cycle and quote exactly what my watch is at, which includes a 5 mile 45min GPS run this morning that consumed 10% of the battery from 56% to 46%. Battery currently at 40%. It has been 1 day 18h and 18min since last full charge. Watch currently estimates 22h and 17m until dead. Assessment: It's probably going to easily get 2 days most of the time as I continue to wear with 30m to 60m of daily exercise. Anything under 2 days would be bad for me meaning daily charging. I guess being able to charge every other day is decent with a way better screen than my vivoactive 4 which can go 5 days. The tradeoffs..... I think all calorie trackers have their methodology. Not sure I follow Samsung in the latest iteration. It does seem to underestimate workout calories, but believe it's combining with base calorie burn and overall activity and at the end of the day you do get a pretty accurate total calorie burn. If anything, these trackers are historically overestimating based on real research. Heart rate is not perfect and every person's efficiency and fitness level is different. If you are completely out of shape you will burn more calories . If you run marathons than efficiency is key and not burning nesr as many calories for same distance/time. There can be a lot of frustration with something that is just assisting with overall health tracking. Make sure weight height are set. Another reason I go back and forth Samsung and Garmin. Smart functions. The Samsung interface just interacts with email and text way better. Has a speaker which I tested and works well for calls when you need hands free. If I read an email on watch my phone shows it as read. Can delete emails, etcetera. Just little things we all do and there is no comparison on smart items. Garmin notifies, but doesn't interact with the actual apps on phone. Samsung is way better and I love that part. We can ask "why would you read an email on your watch", but I do, especially if they are short. There are many things I could continue rattling on about. I do love both Samsung and Garmin. It was the battery that I was contemplating prior to buying this Samsung. Everything else is about what I expected and I would definitely recommend the Watch Active 2, but it will come with some frustration. HR is suspect and more charging are probably the top concerns. The watch design, screen, touch rotating bezel, comfort are all very nice.

Nice Watch for the Price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With price drops, the Active2 is a solid option for anyone looking at an alternative to an Apple Watch. I appreciate the smaller size, especially since I've added a full-wrap screen protector since I don't want to worry about always having to take off the watch when working outside and the like. Battery life is reportedly a bit shorter in the 40mm model than the larger version, but I've routinely gotten a couple days out of it by turning off the always-on display, limiting how many notifications I receive, and other optimizations you can find with a quick Google search. The only big downside isn't totally the watch's fault, but I'll ding Samsung a star in general for the hassle: If you own Galaxy Buds, you can't pair them simultaneously with this watch and your Samsung phone. Instead, you need to manually swap them back and forth using the Wear app. Airpods, meanwhile, will work with both an Apple Watch and an iPhone at the same time. Samsung should be better at making sure their products work together more seamlessly.

Great watch, great price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really nice watch for the price. Plenty of watch faces and apps (free), plus looks and feels great. I have been through 3 Fitbits over the years and returned all three because they were crap. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 is SO much better and easier to setup and use and a lot of features and apps. The only CON is that battery life is not so great. It's similar to the Apple Watch in that you will get a day out of it. But it doesn't seem to be a issue because I don't wear it to bed and charge it at night by my nightstand. The only other CON is the watchband. I'm not crazy about the tuck-in type band that seems to be overly popular these days. I prefer the traditional watchband the tucks in on the top, but Samsung is probably one of the most comfortable ones and getting use to it.

love this watch
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.love this watch!! keeps me active with alerts to get up and move when im being lazy. absolutely gorgrous design. definitely buy some bumpers for this because i find myself absent mindedly smacking into things with it all the time. its very sturdy with the bumpers on tho and with touch sensitivity on u wont have any problems using the screen with bumpers. the battery life isnt as good as they say it is but it gets me thru more than a days use so it hasnt been a big problem. the battery saving mode will keep it alive for days though! biggest complaint is a lack of decent apps but tbh i dont really need tons of apps for a watch.

Pricey, but is it worth it?
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am still learning the different aspects that this device has to offer, but at this point I feel that the device is very nice. I may feel that way because the new-ness hasn't warn off yet. I haven't had another watch similar to this, so I can't compare this one to anything else. I enjoy using it and using the different apps. A negative issue I have with it is that it has to be charged quite frequently, at least once a day. I don't know if that is normal, but at this point I am enjoying the device. It was quite pricey, but it was a gift to myself so I took the plunge. I deserved it! If you are thinking about purchasing this watch, I suggest that you also look at purchasing a protector shield for the watch face to keep if from being scratched.

Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a long time "fan" of a different brand but was finally tired of calling for warranty repair on just about every watch I owned. I tried this Samsung watch for the first time and love it so far! Pros: Connects and stays connected to my phone. Lots of ways to personalize. Stats are what I would expect. More options for watch bands since it's a standard watch pin. Con: Battery life. I was used to a 4 day battery life but I made due. Usually a quick charge while getting ready in the morning is enough to keep it going.

Fun Activity Watch
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch has so many features that make it fun to use. It is very easy to figure out, a lot of widgets that you can add and is easy to see. Being able to answer texts and phone calls on it, make it very convenient if you are busy. The only small downfall is that the battery doesn't last as long as I think it should. But other than that, it is a good activity tracker and is able to gauge my stress levels and remind me to move

Not bad, Not great
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not terrible. Not great. I think for me I would have preferred a larger version of the watch. maybe 44mm. The battery life does not seem to last as long as my previous Galaxy watch. I do like the smaller size when going for a run. The band seems small. I probably have average size wrists and this is on the tail end of the band. If I were to do it over I'd probably go with a different version. I did buy this one as an open item so the price makes it worth the purchase for me. Not sure I'd pay full price for it.
