Buyer beware if using for hot sweaty exercise
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this watch until the back glass sensor fell off and the watch stopped working after 4 months of use. I sent it back to Samsung for warranty repair and was told it was not covered under warranty because the damage was caused due to water damage. My watch was never in water. After a hot sweaty bike ride I removed my watch and the back sensor glass piece was stuck to my arm exposing the insides of the watch. The watch had powered down during this bike ride as well. Samsung quoted me ($219.79) for the repair, which was more than I paid for the watch when new. When I tried to reason with the Samsung rep she just kept repeating that this was due to water damage and not covered by warranty. I did some research online regarding this issue and found that many others have experienced this exact same issue. Even more surprising is that I read numerous times that this has been a problem with previous versions of Samsung watches. This glass piece is held on by a round adhesive seal, which obviously over time when doing hot sweaty exercise the adhesive fails. This is a design flaw that Samsung has ignored to address. If it were not for this issue I would still be loving this watch. This watch is marketed as an Active Sports watch - what a joke.

Back part of watch came off
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this watch in Feb 2020; in June 2020 the back part of the watch came off (see pic). Getting it shipped to Samsung for repair. Going through their chat system was a huge pain. Much better results with their 800 number. The function of the watch was fine up until now. Would rather receive a replacement.

Do Not Buy. Waste of Money!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 22 days of normal wear and usage this watch doesn't function properly anymore it will not link up to a phone its in black and white and it will not respond to touching the screen. The pictures are as far as i can get with it after it quit working properly. Sometimes if i leave it on the charger it will go through a bunch of functions on its own while the voice on it 8s talking to you telling you what its doing like its possessed. Buying a repair kit with a replacement battery and going to see if that will fix it. Best Buy will not refund or replace the watch and it has not even been a month.....never again! Im posting this after about 2 weeks of going through all this hassle.

Galaxy vs Fitbit
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a Fitbit Charge 3 wearer for years. To change and I thought upgrade I bought the Galaxy 2. Unfortunately, the watch does not interact with my phone the way Fitbit did. This is a very convenient interface. Galaxy could not give me in information I was accustomed to seeing. I returned the watch and bought the new Fitbit Sense. Has the same functions (and more) as the Galaxy and interacts with the app on my Android.

Improperly Labeled
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was an open box purchase in "excellent condition" and says "no damage". I am extremely upset to open it and see several scratches on the front. This is defintely not excellent condition and the one I purchased before as open box, had no damage. I am very irritated to have to wait another few weeks for ANOTHER watch that may or may not be improperly labeled like this one.

Stay away!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very poorly built product. The screen started to malfunction and I sent the watch for repair under warranty. Samsung came back with "Out of Warranty" estimate for $229 claiming that they found water damage inside. This is more than a cost of a brand new watch! The watch has never been submerged in water and even advertised to be water resistant to some degree, yet they found water damage inside, which in my understanding means that the seals just failed to provide even basic protection from sweat or water splash. Samsung was unwilling to stand behind the product and repair it under warranty knowing that this watch has so many complaints about the water issue due to poor design or some failing part. I recently had another bad experience with Samsung repair service when I sent my Galaxy Buds Live for repair under warranty. They came back from repair having the same exact issue and nothing was fixed. I was planning on buying 75'' 4K Samsung TV, but after having two negative experiences with customer service I've made a decision to go for another brand. Not sure what they do in other countries, but here in US the customer service is simply unacceptable. Not buying another Samsung product ever again. Update - I received the watch back from Samsung after refusing to pay $229 for repair. The box was absolutely fine, but the watch was physically damaged. The back was broken of due to over torqued screws. There is no way the technician could miss this. See photos.

Do not buy - sweat causes "liquid damage"
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband's Active2 watch screen began to stop working after 5 months. He is a runner and works outside and has never worn his watch in shower or pool, etc. We sent it into Samsung warranty dept who then denied the claim for liquid damage. They asked for $220 to repair the LCD screen and I didn't even pay that much for the watch. Six conversations later, with supervisors and inspection tech, no one would send me photos of what the supposed damage looked like. The box even states water-resistant up to 50 meters and to run it under fresh water to clean. What a crock. I am so upset with Samsung that I will NEVER buy another one of their products.

Not waterproof like it says
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this watch for my wife about 11 months ago and now all it is good for is a paper weight. It was stuck on a reboot screen so we sent it in for warranty repair. The repair center said that it had water damage and we would have to pay for it to be repaired. It is supposed to be water resistant to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes according to the description on Samsungs webpage but this one must not have been for some reason. My wife never submerged the watch in water, only occasionally wore it while washing dishes. Since we never submerged it in water and it still failed why should we be responsible for the repair since it was the waterproofing that failed and not something that we did. We will not be buying another Samsung watch again. We will go back to buying Garmin watches that we have never had an issue with in the past, they are definitely a much better product.

Bad manufacturing not covered under warranty
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this watch for 3 or 4 months before I started having issues. It started with rapid battery loss and shortly after became outright unusable. I sent the watch in to the warranty center and they came back saying the warranty was void. They claimed there was water damage that isn't covered. They asked me for 220 to repair it. The whole marketing for this watch is being water resistant up to 50m and that it can be used to track swimming workouts. I've never even showered with it. This watch isn't safe to wash your hands with apparently. I tried calling to make things right but nobody seemed to know who I need to talk to. I spent probably a total of 8 hrs on the phone trying to fix this to no avail. I would not recommend.

Disappointing.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased an open-box version of this watch. It arrived a little dirty, especially on the back-side. It was quite bulky, in my opinion. The battery was charged-up to 30%. I tried & tried to charge this watch however it just would not charge. I considered buying a charging cable but they are about (another) $25.00. The watch lost that 30% charge within one-hour. So, needless to say, I scrapped the whole idea and returned the watch the very next day. I don’t know if the watch was defective but the charging cable was certainly defective. Disappointed by this whole experience.

Don’t buy this watch
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stopped working in 6months of using. Was removing it before taking showers and washing hands. It stopped working. Sent it back to Samsung and they wouldn’t honor the warranty. They claimed there was water intrusion. The watch is supposed to be water proof and I was also taking precautions to avoid it getting wet. They didn’t honor their warranty and refused to help me in anyway. Looking at forums, there are many similar complaints. The watch is not worth the price.

Buyer Beware
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this watch, it has been absolutely amazing. However, I can not give it a high rating I would like because Samsung does not honor the one year warranty for water damage. After 1 minute in the pool, less then 6 feet deep, it shut off and is now unresponsive. I have been accused by their rep that I must have broken the rules regarding the usage in water. This is shocking, as I have never had a problem with Samsung. But this has left a terrible impression. I would not recommend purchasing this product as it seems many other are dealing with the exact issue I am facing.

Samsung has serious problems!
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stopped working under warranty. Samsung wanted $220 for water damage. Watch was never under water not even in the shower. Supposed to be rated for 5 ft. for 30 minutes. No amount of reasoning would sway Samsung. We’ve had similar issues with them on different products. No more Samsung - ever!

Easily water-damaged
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After about six months of regular every day use (including showering), this watch would no longer properly turn on and so I sent it in to Samsung Support for repair. After inspection, they told me there was internal water damage and this was not covered by the one year warranty and it would cost $220 to repair. This is essentially the same price as buying the watch new. I feel I was fooled into believing this watch was more water resistant than it actually is. Even though Samsung markets that this watch is water resistant with an IP68 rating, I would recommend keeping it out of water entirely if you want it to last.

Will not buy again
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had my Galaxy Active 2 watch for about 2 months before it got wet and the screen stopped working. I figured since it's supposed to be water resistant up to 50m, it would be under warranty. I sent it to Samsung to have it repaired and they want to charge me more than I paid for the watch to fix it. Regretting this purchase!!

DO NOT TRUST SAMSUNG WARRANTY!!!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this watch just under 6 months ago for my wife; it started having power issues where it would say the watch was too hot and had to shut off, even after leaving it off for days. I sent it for repair directly to Samsung and got an email few days later saying it was out of warranty due to water damage in the motherboard, which, you guessed it, is not covered. My wife took very good care of the watch, it's supposed to be water resistant (30min or so I believe), the only few times that watch was exposed to water were occasional showers or when it rained outside. Long story short, Samsung refuses to abide by their claim that the watch is water resistant and will not fix it. In fact, they sent a bill totaling MORE than what we paid for the watch brand new at Best Buy. We are DONE with Samsung, period.

Broke twice in 8 months. Do NOT get near any water
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wouldn't recommend buying this watch unless you want to send it in to get fixed and then have Samsung tell you that you need to spend hundreds more to fix it. Do NOT get this watch anywhere near water. Even though there is a "water mode" and it claimed to be "water resistant" and also have swimming workout functions on the watch it will get water damage and then Samsung will give you the run around and try and get you to pay more to fix it. Buy an Apple product or any other smart watch for that matter.
