Very disappointed. Specs clearly show watch can provide Blood Pressure but there is no blood pressure app or widget. Health Monitor app only provides beats per minute (BP) and ECG. I researched further. Samsung states at this link ( https://www.samsung.com/au/support/mobile-devices/measure-bp-on-samsung-watch/ ) that you need to install the app My BP Lab 2.0. I downloaded the app and a screen pops up asking for verification that I want to join the "study". I don't want to join any study or share my medical information with anyone other than my personal doctor. I want to check my blood pressure. Note: the app was only getting 1.2 stars. Gave it two stars only because the features that do work are acceptable.

After 22 days of normal wear and usage this watch doesn't function properly anymore it will not link up to a phone its in black and white and it will not respond to touching the screen. The pictures are as far as i can get with it after it quit working properly. Sometimes if i leave it on the charger it will go through a bunch of functions on its own while the voice on it 8s talking to you telling you what its doing like its possessed. Buying a repair kit with a replacement battery and going to see if that will fix it. Best Buy will not refund or replace the watch and it has not even been a month.....never again! Im posting this after about 2 weeks of going through all this hassle.

    Samsung vs Garmin

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I am around 50 and have had multiple smart watches from Samsung and Garmin. I have always used Samsung phones and currently have the Note 10+ Garmin: best battery life and activity tracking, hands down, when compared to Samsung. I had fenix5 and it's too heavy and ironically the heartrate accuracy suffered because of that. My opinion. It is very premium and expensive. No touch on fenix5 either. Samsung has 2 to 3 day battery, way better smart watch interface, good build quality, but S3 and Galaxy Watch were too heavy for general use and accuracy of heartrate was not good. My experience. Active 2. Decided to try since the size and weight are more what I like. I also have a Vivoactive 4 and Active 2 is probably a little more comfortable, but they are similar in feel on wrist. I have had it one week, but hear me out, I have had many of these, as mentioned, and I settle in quickly once configured. I have completed 2 GPS runs, 2 Other Workouts, 1 Cardio, and 2 treadmill in the first week. I dont use the built in weight lifting functions. They are a little hokie. Hokie on Garmin too. GPS accuracy had been on par with garmin in terms of consistency. It can vary by 10 feet at times, but mostly tracks pretty close. Being winter, I have not done a bike ride, but have had two previous Samsung watches and expect it to perform as previous ones have. Heartrate. It is probably better than my previous samsung watches, but it still seems to have issues early in a workout. I wait the 30 seconds to let the watch make sure it has GPS and heartrate lock before beginning, but watch will overestimate my baseline heartrate at beginning jumping up to 100 to 125 bpm before I have even started. Same for other workout types. It is almost like the algorithm is trying to anticipate your HR rising. It's a little shaky at beginning and I have had a couple times its shot to 180+ so I check by hand and more in my typical max of 165. I do use a heart strap with garmin which watch connects to. Have to use Health app for samsung. Watches just aren't good for HR with weight lifting, lots of floor work interval training. Overall, so far, the HR has seemed to stabilize and unless you are a serious athlete it's probably pretty good. These things are tools, not perfect at all. Since I have owned my first 6 years ago, they are very motivating and good to see your workout history, estimate of calories, and heartrate data. Battery: I set 30% display brightness and always on display OFF and wear it 24/7 tracking sleep, do not disturb at night, but wear 24/7 with sleep tracking. I use the wrist turn for display. I get a fair number of emails per day from several email accounts (maybe 50 per day) and some text messages. I am not a social media notification type. First couple days as you play with it, exercise, etcetera, I got just short of two days. I am now in third charging cycle and quote exactly what my watch is at, which includes a 5 mile 45min GPS run this morning that consumed 10% of the battery from 56% to 46%. Battery currently at 40%. It has been 1 day 18h and 18min since last full charge. Watch currently estimates 22h and 17m until dead. Assessment: It's probably going to easily get 2 days most of the time as I continue to wear with 30m to 60m of daily exercise. Anything under 2 days would be bad for me meaning daily charging. I guess being able to charge every other day is decent with a way better screen than my vivoactive 4 which can go 5 days. The tradeoffs..... I think all calorie trackers have their methodology. Not sure I follow Samsung in the latest iteration. It does seem to underestimate workout calories, but believe it's combining with base calorie burn and overall activity and at the end of the day you do get a pretty accurate total calorie burn. If anything, these trackers are historically overestimating based on real research. Heart rate is not perfect and every person's efficiency and fitness level is different. If you are completely out of shape you will burn more calories . If you run marathons than efficiency is key and not burning nesr as many calories for same distance/time. There can be a lot of frustration with something that is just assisting with overall health tracking. Make sure weight height are set. Another reason I go back and forth Samsung and Garmin. Smart functions. The Samsung interface just interacts with email and text way better. Has a speaker which I tested and works well for calls when you need hands free. If I read an email on watch my phone shows it as read. Can delete emails, etcetera. Just little things we all do and there is no comparison on smart items. Garmin notifies, but doesn't interact with the actual apps on phone. Samsung is way better and I love that part. We can ask "why would you read an email on your watch", but I do, especially if they are short. There are many things I could continue rattling on about. I do love both Samsung and Garmin. It was the battery that I was contemplating prior to buying this Samsung. Everything else is about what I expected and I would definitely recommend the Watch Active 2, but it will come with some frustration. HR is suspect and more charging are probably the top concerns. The watch design, screen, touch rotating bezel, comfort are all very nice.

I have been a Fitbit Charge 3 wearer for years. To change and I thought upgrade I bought the Galaxy 2. Unfortunately, the watch does not interact with my phone the way Fitbit did. This is a very convenient interface. Galaxy could not give me in information I was accustomed to seeing. I returned the watch and bought the new Fitbit Sense. Has the same functions (and more) as the Galaxy and interacts with the app on my Android.

This was an open box purchase in "excellent condition" and says "no damage". I am extremely upset to open it and see several scratches on the front. This is defintely not excellent condition and the one I purchased before as open box, had no damage. I am very irritated to have to wait another few weeks for ANOTHER watch that may or may not be improperly labeled like this one.

Best Samsung Smartwatch Out Right Now!

I have always been interested in the fitness tracking band market since it first emerged over 5 years ago. Since then, I have used a few different Activity Tracker / Smartwatches over the years - including Samsung ones - and I can firmly say that the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is the best by far that I have used. PROS: - The Active 2 made big design improvements for me. I purchased the band in Cloud Silver and I think it’s a great color. It's more of a matte silver and looks a lot more high end than the glossy silver of the previous Active 1 model. On top of that, the buttons are an improved design and the touch rotating bezel is incredible. Very easy controls! - I purchased the 40mm size and it is perfect for me. The Active 2 is about the same body size as the Active 1 but it has a larger screen because its Bezels are smaller. So I think the Active 2 looks big enough to be normal but not too big to get in the way. I personally would not want the 44mm one but that is my opinion. - The Screen is gorgeous. Its more vibrant, colorful, but yet without having to crack the brightness very high to appreciate it. Also as mentioned, the smaller bezel helps improve the overall quality and look of the watch. - Functionality wise, the Active 2 is a game changer. It does everything you would expect from a Smart Watch in terms of notifications, calls, texts, and other options - PLUS it has Spotify Offline. This means you can either Play Spotify via WiFi through your watch or you can download songs on your watch and listen on the go away from WiFi. This is a huge plus for me as it makes it so I can listen to music while working out without the distraction of my phone. - It's also very forward thinking that the Active 2 can be charged on any wireless charging pad. It does come with a small charger but you do not need to carry around that small specific charger to charge it like other smart watches make you do. - As in Activity Tracker, it does everything you want it to. Is it as high end with ever meter like some cray expensive trackers? No. But it doesn't need that. What it does is it tracks your activity throughout the day while, gives you nudges to stay active, and tracks your workouts at the gym. It also most importantly is fully waterproof and you can dive in the ocean with this or just swim in the lake - as I have done both with no issue! - I will also say that the Active 2 has a much improved battery over the Active 1. It lasts longer over time while having a bigger brighter screen and improved features, so all in all its a great battery upgrade! - Lastly, I wear this at night and the sleep tracking is a big help for me. It is important to analyze how you are sleeping so you can focus on how to improve it. CONS: - The legitimately is not much that I don't like about this watch. But something that consistently has bothered me with Samsung Smart Watches is that they do not have an easy way to toggle on/off bluetooth. You have to your settings to turn it off rather than a quick toggle like they have for WiFi and GPS. - Another thing is I wish you could update your Weather over WiFi only. The only way to update your Weather on your watch faces is by being connected to the GPS on your phone. I know this is minor but I wish it could do that. - Storage is limited because there is only 4 GB and the watch software/apps take up more than half of that. Just wish there was more storage for offline music. - Finally, I think this device works best with a Samsung Phone but can work well with other android phones. BOTTOM LINE: - If you are wanting a Smartwatch that will keep you informed, track your activity, handle anything in your life, but still feel like it's not in the way - this is 100% the watch for you. Its classy enough to wear with a nice outfit, yet tough enough to stick with you in the gym or outdoors. I never take mine off and I think you won't either!

    Nice Watch for the Price

With price drops, the Active2 is a solid option for anyone looking at an alternative to an Apple Watch. I appreciate the smaller size, especially since I've added a full-wrap screen protector since I don't want to worry about always having to take off the watch when working outside and the like. Battery life is reportedly a bit shorter in the 40mm model than the larger version, but I've routinely gotten a couple days out of it by turning off the always-on display, limiting how many notifications I receive, and other optimizations you can find with a quick Google search. The only big downside isn't totally the watch's fault, but I'll ding Samsung a star in general for the hassle: If you own Galaxy Buds, you can't pair them simultaneously with this watch and your Samsung phone. Instead, you need to manually swap them back and forth using the Wear app. Airpods, meanwhile, will work with both an Apple Watch and an iPhone at the same time. Samsung should be better at making sure their products work together more seamlessly.

    Great watch, great price

This is a really nice watch for the price. Plenty of watch faces and apps (free), plus looks and feels great. I have been through 3 Fitbits over the years and returned all three because they were crap. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 is SO much better and easier to setup and use and a lot of features and apps. The only CON is that battery life is not so great. It's similar to the Apple Watch in that you will get a day out of it. But it doesn't seem to be a issue because I don't wear it to bed and charge it at night by my nightstand. The only other CON is the watchband. I'm not crazy about the tuck-in type band that seems to be overly popular these days. I prefer the traditional watchband the tucks in on the top, but Samsung is probably one of the most comfortable ones and getting use to it.

I am a huge fan of Samsung and this watch did not disappoint! It pairs well with my Note 9 and is feature heavy. I was looking for a watch that would BT to my phone, track for fitness and give me notifications. It does that and so much more. I like the size, it is larger than I am used to, but still looks classy.

    Great Watch!

I've had this watch for about two weeks so far and I love it! I don't use it too heavily, but I can go a couple days without charging it. This has a lot of the same functions as my phone - I can make and answer phone calls, read and reply to text messages (through speaking), set alarms and timers, and more (including tracking steps and other health-related things!). When I answer a phone call on my watch, I've been told it sounds no different than when I am talking on the phone. I can also say the same when the person on the other line is talking! Alarms also have the option of sound, vibrating, or both, but I really like the vibrate function as it makes it easier for me to wake up. Another function I like is the sleep tracking. There is also a "Good night mode" you can set the watch on so you don't get disturbed by notifications, but your alarm will still go off if set. So far this watch has been a great investment. The main reason I bought it was for work and school. Since I normally keep my phone on mute in my pocket, I can now see if any important notifications come up. Overall I highly recommend! I debated between the LTE and bluetooth, but since I keep my phone on me or nearby anyway, just having bluetooth capability has not bothered me at all. Oh, I also have very small wrists, and the band is very comfortable and tightens up just enough to fit!

I normally don't write reviews but felt compelled to this time around. This watch has legit been a game changer for me. I was already healthy and very active but i COVID knocked me out of my fitness rhythm. This watch is perfect for tracking your water intake, your steps and distance if you run, sleep stats, stress starts heart rate etc. All measurable and meaningful numbers for a fitness enthusiast like me. Warning though, aside from running workouts, the other workout modes are actually terrible. No watch is gonna tell me I didn't do a push up or squat. Have no idea how it's tracked On the non fitness side, it's more ergonomic for me to flick my wrist for push notifications than reaching for my phone. I also appreciate the little reminders to stop working and stretch or walk. I've only done 1 watch call so far. Not better than the phone but definitely convenient when your phone is in another room and you have an inbound call. Would definitely recommend even despite the limited fitness functionality outside of running.

I love this smartwatch! I have had multiple smartwatches such as the Fossil Gen 3,4 and 5, the Huawei Watch 2, the Samsung Galaxy Watch along with the Samsung Galaxy Gear S3. This is my favorite smartwatch especially for fitness while also looking great. At first I wasn't sure if the 40mm was the right size and debated whether or not to return it and get the 44mm watch active 2 because I tend to go for larger watches. However, the 40mm watch is a great size, especially if you're using it for workout. The buttons don't stick out which is good for working out. The only issue I could think of is the matte finish looks like it could get scratched easily. However, I got the Spigen Liquid Air case for it and now it's perfect! I'd definitely say, if you're looking for a good smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is a great smartwatch even if you don't have a Samsung phone because I would say... Tizen OS is definitely better than Wear OS.

After my Galaxy Watch broke 2 weeks before my year was up and I didn't have Best Buy's warranty I went round and round for 2 months with Samsung giving me the runaround. So this went on sale for Mother's Day and I put the only one they had in my cart for pickup. The black Active 2. Got to Best Buy and they didn't have it and couldn't find it anywhere but had 3 open boxed ones. I really wanted the silver anyway so they gave me a discount I asked for a screen protector and this time I got the Best Buy Extended Warranty and am not dealing with Samsung. Great Watch has all features that my Galaxy Watch had and more. You can answer and make calls it's lighter weight and I love how the band slides inside this hole and doesn't stick out. I have small hands and it fits perfect. I haven't even swapped out bands yet and I have 2 from my Galaxy Watch I could use. I love the silver and it goes with anything.
