Upgrade!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently had the gear Frontier which went out on me in under a years time. I love this watch. Battery life is awesome, sometime 3 days. You can still get and make calls/texts and get chosen notifications. It is way less bulky, I wear it 24/7 and did with the Frontier too but it was so big/uncomfortable to wear to bed. It's waterproof and more aesthetically pleasing to look at. The screen is amazing. The coaching tool is helpful as well. I sit 8 hours a day for work so I want to remain as active as possible! One HUGE detractor though: the heart rate monitor does not work if your wrist I heavily tattooed. It cannot see through dark ink and should be a huge issue for Samsung to address. Think of how many fit tattooed people there are, especially trainers...it does work better than the Frontier though because of the added sensors.

Overall a good smart warch.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Many nice features that are handy to have. The heart rate monitor does not record most of the time when running. I have thin wrists which may be part of the problem. In continuous mode when I am at rest the heart rate reads ridiculously high. Taking manual measurements it is usually correct. The built in GPS is very handy in measuring distance and speed. It is easy to use. The Bixby voice control is a bit primative but still useful. All apps link well to the phone except the weather app. It only updates when disconnecting bluetooth and reconnecting it. However it will update when linked to my home wifi all the time. I find it very helpful to read email and messages on the watch when notified new items are available. The alarm does wake me in the morning. The watch can be customized in many ways, including the watch face. Overall I am pleased with the watch.

Good but they need to make a larger leap forward
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm glad I bought it but the Samsung software could be better. For example, why can't the watch tell the difference from when I'm sitting on the couch watching TV and actually sleeping. Also, the heartbeat monitor sometimes lags while I'm working out at the gym. The watchband is designed for someone who weighs 500 pounds. I'm 6 foot 1 210 pound and I use the 3rd notch on the band out of 10.... Makes no sense.

Good sports/smart watch
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good overall sport watch. I really liked the exercise function directly on the watch and the auto count/coaching function. As many other indicated, the heart rate monitor is hit and miss. I will be just staring an exercise and it tells me that I am at 95% max.

Overall, great watch!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great watch, but heart rate monitor doesn’t work against tattooed skin. Good for workouts and since well with phone. Also, doesn’t track sleep well.

Heart rate monitor is a disappointment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This smartwatch has more functions than a Swiss Army knife, but if you bought it to use as a workout watch you'll be very disappointed with the heart rate monitor , it's not even close to being accurate unless your not moving . I returned the one I bought for myself as the heart rate sensor makes the watch useless as a fitness tracker. Based on other reviews this seems to be a known problem with the Samsung galaxy active 2

Basic Watch
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a pretty basic smart watch. It has no real issues other than the heart rate monitor seems to be inaccurate. I personally bought it to track my workouts and the heart rate function is mediocre at best. It tracks your steps and is a good smart watch for the other functions but it is not particularly great for workouts. Overall, I am fairly disappointed with the watch.

Calorie counter function gone
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disappointed the calorie counter is gone. To me, that is an important feature. Also if watch isn't positioned perfectly, it doesn't read heart rate. I was well over 100 and it said 56.

Glitchy little thing.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch is good when it works correctly. Bixby and heart rate monitor are glitchy. Bixby doesn't recognize voice, and heart rate monitor doesn't read heart rate at times especially in the first minutes of a hard workout. I might trade up with my warranty.
