Can't count calories for running
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is supposed to be a fitness-centric watch. Accurate fitness tracking is the one thing you cannot get wrong for this product. Especially running, the most simple workout. Ran about 5 miles. I'm 163 lbs. Average pace was 7'11"/mi. There is no way this nets to 372 cals. Typical treadmills would show around 640 calories and the same route on a Gear Sport showed 602 calories. It's not like Samsung has not built fitness tracking before... I've had both the Gear S2 and Gear Sport and both were much more accurate.

Poor design back sensor cover comes OFF
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy this watch. The back cover sensor plate comes off after 5 months of normal use nothing extreme. There are multiple bad reviews out there for the same reason. Even under warranty you will need to pay some cash. Honestly this is a joke coming from a well known Flagship company.Come on you can do better.

2nd watch only good for 1yr
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These watches only last a year, this is my 2nd galaxy active watch, 1st the steps stop counting, then the screen goes berserk until finally black screen of death. Samsung doesn’t stand by their product. Switching to Apple

Manufacturing defect?
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really liked the watch at first. After a little more than a year started noticing problems with the touch screen randomly doing things on its own. Noticed it more when even a small amount of water had come in contact with the watch. Samsung states watch is water resistance however after research I’ve seen many complaints of the watch doing this and Samsung saying they would not repair this problem because problems is a result of abuse or wear and tear. This watch has never been dropped and has only been under water in the shower a few times. Rain drops and water splashes from washing hands is the only times it ever gets wet. I would not recommend this watch due to an obvious manufacturing problem!!

Poor water protection
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do your own research, plenty of reports about this watch entering a boot loop caused by water damage from benign sources. Such as rain, and hand washing. In short, it has poor water resistance, on a watch advertised for swimming that is unacceptable. Samsung does not warranty water damage. Tizen also has notification problems. When a notification is received the process of checking the notification can clear it before reading. In less than 6 months, I was forced back to my 6 year old watch, which has enjoyed countless swimming expeditions. It just lacks the always on heart sensor and 3 day battery life.

Don't Buy - Irritates Skin & Poor Battery Life
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Battery Life: The battery life of this watch is less than half of what is stated online. What Samsung doesn't tell you in their advertisement is that the watch can *potentially* last "up to days" as stated on the Samsung website when all of its features are TURNED OFF and used manually. If you want to actually use this watch as advertised, the watch will last less than a day. That includes using the Always On Display, heart-rate monitoring, and recording your REM Sleep. Their response? Do not use any of the features and it will last longer... Wow, I didn't pay that much money so I can't use its features... Skin irritation: Please google this issue and you will see that Samsung has not addressed this problem other than to say that the watch's materials cannot possibly be the issue. I developed a severe red rash from casually wearing the watch. Clearly, I do not wear this for more than a day and a half since I need to remove it to charge it constantly with its poor battery life. I also remove the watch when I shower, change clothes, and charge the battery. Regardless, my skin has developed a red rash from wearing the watch.

An expensive wrist weight.
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch isn't accurate at all. It counts steps when I sitting. It's wanting be a "get active" while I'm actually walking or driving. It is not recognizing when I am trying to sleep. It even wants me get active when I'm sleeping. I wore it to my physical to see how accurate the BP and pulse were. The results were not even close to what the medical assistant got, or my home BP cuff for that matter. But hey, it's cute.

Samsung Worst Customer Service
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased before the ECG feature was enabled. New update supposedly enabled the feature. Not on mine. Would not work. Samsung has terrible customer service. I've been on the phone for hours, have written many emails, sent the watch in twice, spent 2 months without it, and now they have it and the status shows "cancelled". Apparently, they are supposed to "exchange" it, but no details other than "call back in 2 or 3 business days". They obtained my property under false pretenses saying they would fix it and are currently withholding it from me. For anyone dealing with Samsung, don't believe it if "Kayla with the Office of the President" gets involved. She will not help and will block your number so you can't reach her. I paid over $300 for this at BestBuy and I can't even use it because Samsung has it.

1 Year Warranty Void Due to Liquid Damage!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After wearing this watch for about 9 months the touch screen stopped working. I sent the watch to Samsung's repair center because it was under a 1 year warranty. 3 days later I was told by Samsung that the warranty for the watch was void due to liquid damage. Excuse me, liquid damage voids the warranty? Yes that's right a watch that is intended for swimming will not be repaired by Samsung if it has LIQUID DAMAGE! Samsung advertises this watch for swimming and claims it can be submerged 164 feet, all LIES....

Do Not Buy
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You can't actually swim in the watch. Used for swimming laps in a pool. Stopped working in 6 months and sent to Samsung thinking it was covered under warranty. Samsung says it has water damage so it isn't covered under warranty, It didn't matter to Samsung that I used the watch exactly the way they said. They wanted to charge me over $200 to repair. Way to stand behind your product Samsung. Guess what watch is still working fine...my wife's Apple watch.

Unreliable GPS and Bluetooth
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited about this watch but ended up returning it. While it looks great, the GPS is poor and didn't work half the time on my runs. Downloading Spotify was nice, but the device bluetooth is weak and it cuts out constantly if you aren't holding the watch close to your headphones. I was using it with Samsung's newest headphones so it shouldnt have been such a poor experience. The Strava app didn't have an always on screen mode, and even after I changed the screen timeout to 60 seconds, it would hide the screen faster than I could read what was shown during running mode. Bottom line: This product is not ready for active users and you should avoid this if you care about GPS and music over bluetooth.

Reaching the point that Samsung not to be trusted.
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very disappointed. After 18 months the watch started randomly doing things and the touch does not work. I thought it might be a software related issue since it happened at the same time of software updating. I took it to Samsung shop and after evaluating they told me it is a significant water damage. It is out of warranty but after 18 months you do not expect it and water damage? The interesting part is when i called Samsung and told them about the issue they are telling me that the watch was not advertized to be water resistant. I do not know if it is funny or disappointing. I see in their website that watch active 2 advertised as water resistant. This will be my last Samsung product. Enough is enough.

Sent opened box!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a new fitness tracker. My Fitbit was a couple of years old and was worse for wear. I decided I needed an upgrade and payed for a brand new Samsung 44mm active 2 watch. I waited about 4 days for delivery. I was so excited and opened it and was so disappointed when I realized I was sent an opened box. It was obviously opened. The band looked dirty and the watch had no protective film right out of the package. I called customer service and was told if I didn't like it, I had 2 options. I could send it back and when they received it they would send me a new one, or I could drive 45 min to the closest Best Buy to return it. I was offered nothing by customer service for my trouble. I went online at Best Buy read reviews and discovered that Samsung has had many returns for various reasons; quit working after a couple of months, bugs that couldn't be sorted out, inaccurate step tracking, battery life, bad GPS tracking ECT., and some reviewers saying they got open boxes as well, but payed for new. It really didn't even feel worth it anymore. I only got the watch to track my fitness and the possibility of EKG; this isn't even available yet and no word on when. Sounds like Samsung's having a lot of issues and possibly sending out open watches that they can't move otherwise. Drove 45 minutes went into Best Buy myself to return it. Got my money back. Proceeded to buy myself a new Fitbit. Saved 200$.

Fake metrics
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far not a true fitness tracker. On or off the wrist it counts calories in the exact same manner during the workout - approximately 10 calories per minute. That's ridiculous. If I am not wearing the watch, calories burned during a workout should not be registering. It counts steps by just moving the arm - EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT WALKING!!!!!! Is it pretty? yes. Is it nice to see who is calling, receive emails and texts? yes. Does it feel great on the wrist? yes. But this is the definition of false advertising. If I were to take serious my weight loss, this thing would be off the charts inaccurate in helping. And as for calories burned by the end of the day - YOU WILL BE HARD PRESSED TO GET THE WATCH TO BREAK 2000 CALORIES BURNED. What a waste. Don't take my word for it. Get the watch and put it to the test. You will love it as a smartwatch. That will be it.

Review only for bestbuy
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Please be forwarded, best buys shipping times are at best a blatant lie. Upon purchase the quoted shipping time is now 300% longer and my package is pending... so I'm now not expecting it for a while and might have to consider pursuing options to cancel the order and order it else where. Its reasonable to expect slower shipping during these times and that's ok. However, dont post delivery dates when items dont leave your facility half way across the country on day you quote it would be delivered. I would suspect best buy is aware of these issues but has chosen not to be honest with its customer's. Unfortunately this has caused scheduling conflicts and a severe waste of time. I can only hope that I receive my package soon. Best buy, used to be a company you could trust, and honestly I stuck with them over the past decade as they have struggled to adapt to the new market. I would hate to see us loose a good brick and mortar store however if this is the way they run their business when their competitors are more than meeting their shipping deadlines perhaps they should loose their market share. What's worse is I have had no communication from best buy at all, that is just unacceptable in today's marketplace. Shame bestbuy, shame.

DO NOT BUY
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would not recommend purchasing any Samsung watches. We purchased 3 in 2020 and they are all now torn up now that they are out of warranty. One the back came off for no reason, one stopped working after swimming in it and one quit working completely.

Not a good fitness tracker, mediocre watch.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not at all impressed by this product. This is a watch packed with features, and none of them work particularly well. Heartrate and run sensors are off. It has trouble picking up in real time, heart rate is often hours behind. Exercise sensors start automatically but failed to end the workout on time, with no manual override, so my runs often "run" 5-7 minutes longer on the watch. From what I've seen, Garmin and Fitbit devices are more responsive, and their applications offer much more function. The Samsung app ecosystem is seriously lacking for wearables.
