I have note 8 cellphone which can be too large for some people. With the watch, I can keep my note in the backpack and not worrying about missing phone calls or going out of Bluetooth range when I have to walk around my office building. Great companion for large phones little hard to be kept in the pocket. I use this watch for work out and sending and receiving text messages and making calls. I do not care about other functions such as number of apps or bixby etc... so for my use this is an outstanding watch. Even with always on display, watch lasts full day without charging.

This is a prelim review as I have not been able to test the main reason I bought this watch for my wife. She recently had a severe fall while walking by herself. This watch when it gets its FDA approval will automatically notify me in the event of a fall. It does also have a feature where it wil notify me and others if she presses one of the buttons 3 times. I have tested this feature and does work well telling me exactly there she needs help. The FDA approval of the auto feature is apparently a few month off.

Until the Water Lock failed while swimming yesterday, it was a good enough LTE watch. It doesn't have much in the way of apps though. It angers me that less than 2 years after I bought it, the water lock mode TURNED ITSELF OFF WHILE IN A POOL. It is now sitting in a cup of rice as I am hoping that it will help make it function fully again (I pulled it out of the water as it was ejecting the water so it still kinda worked, but keeps turning off...) Samsung customer service was horrible, and didn't even tell me it was out of warranty and that Samsung Care+ I Have does not cover the wearables...what the f..???

Do NOT swim with this watch. Wouldn't risk it.

Do NOT swim with this watch. It was a functional watch for the most part and I enjoyed using it track my workouts during the 20 months that it worked, though it wasn't always accurate. For instance, I do a lot of burpees but it had trouble counting them and usually overcounted. I also liked using it as an alarm clock to wake me up in the mornings. I set it to vibrate with no sound, and the vibration is enough to wake me up without also waking up my wife and child. However, for a watch that advertises you can swim with it, it didn't hold up. I don't swim a lot, but I have a few times before without any issues and always put it in the water lock mode. But this last time, I was in the water for about 10 minutes, and the screen went black, never to light up again. That's pretty disappointing.

    NO WARRANTY FOR SWIMMING

My watch water lock failed. I only had the watch for 7 months. Per the advertisements and reviews from the pros, I thought it was waterproof in shallow water, especially with their water lock. It failed and water ruined the watch. I sent it for warranty repair and was told it would cost almost $300 to repair because water got in. THIS WATCH AND ALL ADVERTISING IS FALSE ABOUT BEING WATERPROOF. BUYER BEWARE. YOU CAN'T SWIM WITH THIS WATCH.

    Poor manufacturing quality

Samsung is getting embarrassing. I bought this watch and in two years the glass screen won't stick any more and often comes out from top. Poor glue quality time of manufacturing. I moved to NZ so now samsung saying can't help as it was an overseas purchase. Going around circles, Samsung pretty much asking for full price to fix it. Might be the kick i needed to finally move away from Samsung to Apple.
