I'm in love with my Galaxy smart watch active 2. This watch is the best one yet. Its comfortable. Light weight, I forget I have it on at times and I even sleep with it on time to time, and that's only because I forget to take it off. I love the new new band style any size fits because of the new band style. I was nervous about how big it would look on my small wrist but it's perfect. Not too big not too small. Just perfect. Functionality is awesome. I am able to manage and switch between apps with ease. The battery life is great I still have half battery life after a full days use, and I keep my setting on always on. If you are on the fence about getting this watch you most definitely should go for it, you will be glad that you did. This new active 2 does not disappoint.

I could not have asked for a better watch. It's comfortable and easy to use. This is my first smart watch purchase in 5 to 6 years and wasn't looking for a watch but the price and reviews were all excellent so I decide to purchase one. This watch looks and feels like a more expensive watch and I paid under 250 bucks. I saw my ex wife's Fitbit Versa 3 and my watch blows that one away. I highly recommended the watch especially if you're an android user like me.

Love my active 2 watch it keeps me motivated throughout the day with my calories, steps, and exercise time. Highly recommend this watch for the active individual. I even took it with me to the pool for the first time and it keeps getting the job completed. Not to mention the watch itself is beautiful and can be worn out to fancy events. People always think its a high end Movado....5 stars for me.

so far I love this watch and work great with my daily life. I go swimming a lot and the whole vibrate to get the water was great but spooky at first. It feel more comfortable in a way and I can see the heart rate monitor is way better then the first. I do miss the spinning part on the top of the watch cuz it made it easy to switch song when im swimming but I cab live with it.

What a great comfortable watch with many functions, the only thing that I wish it had and thought it would of by now is the EKG function. That was one of the big reason I bought it. But works great with my one plus 7pro .. Very very comfortable.

This smartwatch is awesome. I love the design, the functionality, and even its battery life. It looks great, has a nice selection of watchfaces, some great apps, and is super comfortable. I hardly notice I have it on most days. I've had it a few weeks already and have no regrets. It tracks my fitness, water, food, and caffeine intake, I use the timer, the calendar, and have even answered phone calls on it. The caller didn't even know I was talking to her through my watch! Talk about cool. I really am glad I bought this and would easily recommend it to my friends!

I bought the 44 inch aqua black bluetooth model. Paired quickly and easily to my Galaxy S10. This watch is light and the strap is very comfortable. Watch faces and notifications on the Super AMOLED screen look absolutely stunning. The digital bezel works great for scrolling but does take a little getting used to and you have to manually enable it in the settings. Battery life has been great so far. The vibration strength is good enough that I won’t miss anything. The heart rate tracking seems right on but the other tracking (steps, gps, distance) seems to be a very small amount off of what you’d get on other devices. I’ve owned many other devices so I’m pretty clear on what results to expect. For most people (like me) this won’t matter and they won’t even notice but it may drive some people nuts. For me this watch is great and strikes the perfect balance between smartwatch and fitness tracker and I definitely recommend it. Side note: If you pre-ordered this before the release date you can go to Samsung’s website and submit a claim for a free Samsung wireless charging battery pack. Side note 2: I already previously purchased the battery pack they are giving out with preorders and it’s a piece of crap so if you didn’t preorder you’re not missing anything.

I recently switched from an iPhone back to Android, and in order to do that I had to also (painstakingly) remove myself and my family exclusively from Apple’s ecosystem…it was a long process, pretty annoying, but probably most painful was the loss of my Apple Watch, which I really, really loved. There’s no denying that the Apple Watch is the defacto standard for smart watches, and much to my dismay, Gear OS options were all not that great. I had a Moto 360 some number of years ago that I returned. I tried the TicWatch C2 after receiving a brand recommendation from a coworker, but it also was returned. I considered nearly every fitness tracking-focused device, but really wanted it to be a decent smart watch first. The only device that I’ve used (aside from the Apple Watch) that I really loved was the first generation Garmin VivoSmart, which did a passable job at providing notifications, had insane battery life, and was so light and so comfortable that I often forgot I was wearing it—unfortunately, a design flaw caused rows of pixels to die the older the device became, and after my second replacement, I had to part ways and get my money back. So my requirements are simple: notifications and basic phone integration is a must; comfort is also non-negotiable (and to me, that means a device that is not big and chunky). And because I had just purchased a Galaxy Note 10+, Samsung’s offerings were on my radar…and not long after, the Galaxy Active 2 was announced and released. I got my hands on one shortly after release, preparing to pay the full $299 price but finding an open box option in excellent condition for 10% less…no scratches, no missing parts or accessories…no-brainer. Another big win for me is that it relies on Tizen, Samsung’s own smart watch OS, and not Wear OS which Google really needs to work on (ahem, Pixel Watch???). The Active 2 is a sequel to the original Active which was regarded as a great device, with a couple of key improvements, including a digital bezel (coming from the other, larger Galaxy Watches), additional size options, nicer hardware, and better specs. And in the few weeks I’ve owned and tested this, it definitely checks my boxes. It’s sleek, modern looking, faster than Wear OS devices, and integrates perfectly with my Note 10+. I can easily get a couple days of usage before needing to recharge, and it has all of the features to make it a great smart watch (NFC, GPS, onboard storage for audio, etc). To add to that, Samsung’s health platform is really quite good, possibly better in some ways than Apple’s health platform, and the device can auto-detect workouts which is pretty great. Most importantly, it is incredibly comfortable…not so comfortable that I forget about it, but I’m totally fine wearing it all the time without it bothering me. And, at a price of $299, it’s not too difficult to stomach the cost. The cellular model adds $130 to that price tag, but that’s still less expensive than the Apple Watch by a considerable margin. If you’re an iPhone user, there really is no true replacement to the Apple Watch…the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is great, but can’t compete on the iOS platform. But if you’re NOT an iPhone user and you’re looking for good integration with Android, and ESPECIALLY if you’re a Samsung phone user, and you need a good smart watch and fitness tracker in one device, you won’t be disappointed with this.

I recently had the gear Frontier which went out on me in under a years time. I love this watch. Battery life is awesome, sometime 3 days. You can still get and make calls/texts and get chosen notifications. It is way less bulky, I wear it 24/7 and did with the Frontier too but it was so big/uncomfortable to wear to bed. It's waterproof and more aesthetically pleasing to look at. The screen is amazing. The coaching tool is helpful as well. I sit 8 hours a day for work so I want to remain as active as possible! One HUGE detractor though: the heart rate monitor does not work if your wrist I heavily tattooed. It cannot see through dark ink and should be a huge issue for Samsung to address. Think of how many fit tattooed people there are, especially trainers...it does work better than the Frontier though because of the added sensors.

This watch replaced a beloved Samsung Gear S3 Classic, and in all fairness is pretty much the same watch with a few improvements that turned out to be more important than I first thought and make this Active2 watch an absolute winner. Better display – on the spec sheets this display is pretty much the same as the Gear S3, but to me it looks brighter and is much easier to read. I have the 44mm screen, and the smaller size is just as nice. I personally would suggest the 44mm size, but if you aren’t sure about it just have a look at the display models and see what you think is best for you. Better comfort – I have no argument with the rugged build of the Gear S3, but it really was big on the wrist and although I got used to it, the watch really was heavy. The appearance of the Gear S3 was impressive – being a large silver watch, but I didn’t realize how heavy it was on the wrist until I put on the Active2. Now I have a watch I can comfortably wear all day and night without feeling the need to “take a break” from having the watch on my wrist. Before, I wore the Gear S3 during the day and then swapped it with a Versa when I got home for evening and overnight comfort (and sleep tracking). Now, I am glad to keep the Active2 on my wrist 24/7 except for charging every couple of days. The sleep tracking is outstanding as well, on par with the Versa I wore at night for that purpose. Ruggedness – well no question the Gear S3 has the advantage with it’s heavy steel case, but to me it’s a fair trade to swap the heavy case for daily comfort. If I worked in a rugged environment during the day, I would still prefer the Gear S3. Being a schoolteacher, I have no concerns for the Active2 and when I work out in the yard or other “bang around” tasks, I put on the Versa and charge up the Active2. OS and Snappiness – the Active2 has the next level of processor and there is no question it is a little snappier. I haven’t had any lags or hangs with regular daily use. Apps and Functions – there is more functionality from the Active2, and the fitness instrumentation is more modern and seems to be more accurate. No question that the Active2 is a step up from the Gear S3 for fitness tracking. Battery Life – easy to go well over 24 hours between charges with notices, wireless, Bluetooth, and location all “turned on” >> I have read some folks complaining about short run time, but I don’t know what they are talking about. Going 2 days between charges is just about where I am at, but I will find about 90 minutes every day and a half to top off the battery and have never had it run out on me. Other stuff – I like to find a watch face that gives me time, date, watch battery, phone battery – all easy to read… for that the WatchMaker app has several that I use on a daily basis, depending on whether I am at work or at home…. But I have to say there are some VERY nice watch faces on the Active2 and some of them with active backgrounds look VERY nice and are fun to try out for a day or two. I usually go back to the couple of watch faces I have gotten used to in the past few years, but it’s awful tempting to change out the watch face from time to time as the Active2 display colors are very vibrant, and the motion of the active watch faces is very smooth. OVERALL – I am very well satisfied with this watch. It is lighter, faster, brighter, and much more comfortable than the Gear S3 that I enjoyed for several years. In parting, BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY on whatever smartwatch you buy. It is well worth the investment and has saved me from having to replace watches on more than one occasion.

First I was surprised with the overall comfort of this watch, even sleeping the watch is light and not bothersome at all. I get 3 days of batter life,(full notifications, Bluetooth/wifi connectivity, sleep tracking, always on display turned off) and I charge it during that third day. Fitness and HR monitoring works as expected. Overall I'm very impressed and it has proved to be much more useful for me than I originally thought

I got a Note 10+ for black friday and wanted a new smart watch to go with it. I wanted to stay in the eco system so purchased the GWA2. I was debating on getting the active 1 since they updated it to include the touch bezel feature. The reason i got this one was because of the microphone. The point for me of a smart watch is to have the option of answering a call on my wrist while my phone is out of reach and talk. The Active 1 does not have a mic. This one also had the 44mm option. I like bigger watches so that also convinced me to get this version. I used to have a old gear sport watch that I enjoyed so i'm familiar with the software. There are enough apps to use and I like the UI of this watch. I also love how their are so many watch faces to choose from. The watch is very comfy and I use it everyday for work and while at the gym. I get close to 2 days on a full charge with HR set to 10 mins except when i'm working out. Its fairly accurate at steps too. Overall a fantastic watch for the price and if you have a samsung this is definitely the one to get.

Okay, let me start by prefacing that I already own an Apple Watch Series 4. I own an iPhone 12 Pro, in addition to a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. I was looking for a smartwatch that I could use with my Note, and the Galaxy Watch Active 2 seemed like a good deal. I have used my Apple Watch since the release of the Series 4, and I have had a good deal of time to compare. First, the good: - Display quality is excellent on the GWA2. It includes an Always-On Display (AOD) option, which allows for quick glancing. The colors are vibrant and the brightness can go quite high. Almost too high at night, though. This is one feature that Samsung always does well on. - Sleep tracking works well and is very useful. It pairs with the Samsung Health app to give a good insight into your sleeping. - Battery life is better than the Apple Watch. With AOD on, I can squeeze 2 days comfortably without charging. I can barely do a single day on the Series 4, and it doesn't even have AOD. - It is comfortable to wear! Honestly, it is a comfortable watch and it doesn't dig into my skin. I also like the round design. - Strong vibration motor. Much stronger than my Apple Watch and I can definitely tell when I have a notification coming in. Now, the not so good: - The software is...well...janky to say the least. It is running Samsung's TizenOS and it is far from the smoothest. Utilizing the turn-dial around the rim of the watch is great in theory, but bad in practice. I constantly accidentally click an item on the watch when I was just trying to scroll. - Poor app support. But this is inherent to TizenOS and the incredibly niche amount of developers who actually make anything for it. Your best bet is built-in Samsung-made applications. - Terrible heart rate (HR) sensor. Look, it works fine if you are still, not moving, and the surface temperature of your arm is not on the cold side. Any other scenario (ie., working out, walking outside while it is cold, etc), and I get a message stating an HR reading was not obtainable. It asked me to reposition the watch and try again, but still no avail. The sensor is reminiscent of old, first-generation smartwatches that first included heart rate sensors. They only worked when perfectly still. On my Apple Watch, I get a reading when moving, working out, sitting still, jumping, whatever. The sensor on it is leaps and bounds ahead of what is on the GWA2, and it's a few generations old! - You are stuck using Bixby. I don't need to say much else. It's Bixby. Yuck. - Voice typing when responding to messages is slow, inaccurate, and makes me want to pull my phone out instead (and sometimes, my hair). - You are limited in the complications you can use for creating watch faces. Actually, the entire watch face creation is just not all that great. It is very limited, especially compared to the AW2. Honestly, if you are satisfied with something that can tell you the time, alert you to notification, and can provide some basic health insights, it's not the worst watch in the world for the money. But if you need something that you will expect to work fast, smooth, and as advertised, I would look elsewhere. It's a very "meh" watch, and it is going right back to Best Buy.

Very surprised how well this watch works. At this price point, you get your money's worth. my goal was to purchase a smartwatch that allows me to use it for long runs and to listen to music so far this watch has exceeded my expectations. it's comfortable and the battery life lasts me all day.my second favorite feature of the watch is using Samsung pay so when I'm out and about I can simply tap it on the go for contactless purchases. The Samsung help app or strap our fantastic and they both work really well to watch. Also have no issues pairing with headphones like other folks occasionally I might have a drop if I'm running but if you usually be covers pretty quickly.I get at this price point it's a best buy.

I've had the Gear S2 and more recently have been wearing the fit it Versa. I didn't really think haven't the notifications on my wrist again would be a big deal, but I was wrong. The Active 2 is extremely comfortable. The display and great and I get 2-3 days battery life easily. I usually throw it on the charger every third day while I'm in the shower. I've never been lower than 48% but am usually at around 68%. Answering calls on the watch has been great, even when the watch is in another room. I've even been able to take calls when the phone is on the floor below or above. (I live in a townhouse.) I don't use the "bezel" navigation as much add I did on the S2, but it works okay. I rarely give 5 star reviews, but I'd recommend this watch to anyone, especially android users.

I decided to get off of the apple bandwagon last May and changed over to the pixel phone. I really loved my apple watch, and bought a Galaxy watch. I liked the rotating bezel, but the watch was just too large for me. I stopped wearing it within 2 months. The Active2 is just small enough to be that much more comfortable on my wrist. The 'virtual' bezel took a little getting used to, but became natural after just a short while. I am not a fitness guy, and mainly used the apple watch for siri. So far, bixby is not quite as good, but it does the job well enough. Overall, I am very happy with the Active2. If the voice was a google service I am sure it would rival the apple watch and siri. That is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5. John W.
