My husband purchase this watch and it worked fine and well for the first two week and then all of a sudden the screen went blank and he had to watch YouTube to figure out how to fix the glitch. Now the watch is working fine again. Hope not to have issues in the future.

Long post alert ... I have always switched between apple and Samsung. Recently I had the iPhone xs max and decided to switch back to Samsung to get the s20 ultra. I sold my apple watch to purchase this watch. I bought this watch to work perfectly with my s20 ultra. In less than 1 WEEK, my watch decided to completely bug out by going black and not responding for about 10mins. Luckily, I was able to do an exchange at best buy since it was under the 14 days. So far, I've had my 2nd watch for about 2 weeks. For the most part, I like it, but I am nervous sometimes that it will bug out on me again. It has the regular features that all smart watches have. I haven't tried to talk on it yet, but I have played around with different watch faces that I love. I do advise, if you purchase this watch, definitely purchase a 2 year warranty!!

Problem with the rear seal. The battery kept failing to get a full charge after 6 months. Upon deeper inspection my wife found that the back of the watch was loose and it just peels off like it was held on with some sort of double-sided adhesive. Poor representation as she loves Samsung products. Steer clear of the 44mm as it has issues. We also purchased the smaller 40mm a year ago and it has given us no problems.

Okay, let me start by prefacing that I already own an Apple Watch Series 4. I own an iPhone 12 Pro, in addition to a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. I was looking for a smartwatch that I could use with my Note, and the Galaxy Watch Active 2 seemed like a good deal. I have used my Apple Watch since the release of the Series 4, and I have had a good deal of time to compare. First, the good: - Display quality is excellent on the GWA2. It includes an Always-On Display (AOD) option, which allows for quick glancing. The colors are vibrant and the brightness can go quite high. Almost too high at night, though. This is one feature that Samsung always does well on. - Sleep tracking works well and is very useful. It pairs with the Samsung Health app to give a good insight into your sleeping. - Battery life is better than the Apple Watch. With AOD on, I can squeeze 2 days comfortably without charging. I can barely do a single day on the Series 4, and it doesn't even have AOD. - It is comfortable to wear! Honestly, it is a comfortable watch and it doesn't dig into my skin. I also like the round design. - Strong vibration motor. Much stronger than my Apple Watch and I can definitely tell when I have a notification coming in. Now, the not so good: - The software is...well...janky to say the least. It is running Samsung's TizenOS and it is far from the smoothest. Utilizing the turn-dial around the rim of the watch is great in theory, but bad in practice. I constantly accidentally click an item on the watch when I was just trying to scroll. - Poor app support. But this is inherent to TizenOS and the incredibly niche amount of developers who actually make anything for it. Your best bet is built-in Samsung-made applications. - Terrible heart rate (HR) sensor. Look, it works fine if you are still, not moving, and the surface temperature of your arm is not on the cold side. Any other scenario (ie., working out, walking outside while it is cold, etc), and I get a message stating an HR reading was not obtainable. It asked me to reposition the watch and try again, but still no avail. The sensor is reminiscent of old, first-generation smartwatches that first included heart rate sensors. They only worked when perfectly still. On my Apple Watch, I get a reading when moving, working out, sitting still, jumping, whatever. The sensor on it is leaps and bounds ahead of what is on the GWA2, and it's a few generations old! - You are stuck using Bixby. I don't need to say much else. It's Bixby. Yuck. - Voice typing when responding to messages is slow, inaccurate, and makes me want to pull my phone out instead (and sometimes, my hair). - You are limited in the complications you can use for creating watch faces. Actually, the entire watch face creation is just not all that great. It is very limited, especially compared to the AW2. Honestly, if you are satisfied with something that can tell you the time, alert you to notification, and can provide some basic health insights, it's not the worst watch in the world for the money. But if you need something that you will expect to work fast, smooth, and as advertised, I would look elsewhere. It's a very "meh" watch, and it is going right back to Best Buy.

I left Garmin for this watch because I liked that I wanted to be able to respond to messages and take phone calls if my hands where full and I couldn't pick up my phone, but that feature is tough to use. I choose the 44mm because the battery life was longer. However, that was the 1st thing I was disappointed with, my battery dies faster then my phone battery. There is no way I could get more than I day out of this battery. After reading the reviews I feel like there might be something wrong with it!! or my settings are wrong? I thought that I had optimized the battery settings with no luck. I have to leave the clock screen on all the time or else I need two hands to simply see the time. I seem to need 2 hands to see anything! When I am working out I need two hands to see the stop watch. I rarely have 2 hands to check my watch (meaning they are always full or busy) which is why I needed a watch like this in the 1st place. So for use being cumbersome was another reason I am disappointed. The screen only seems to be sensitive when I don't want it to be. I am thrilled with the comfort, look and design of the watch. I think the strap being tucked in the back is genius. I have had the watch for going on 3 weeks now so I am trying to have it grown on me....now if it always wasn't attached to a charger....

1i have no complaints about the way this watch looks. I got the black one and I have been happy with how it looks on my wrist. When I press any of the buttons it has a very delayed response... sometimes 5 seconds after I touch the buttons it will finally change screens which is annoying. When I press the workout button, most of the time I have to press it like 5 or more times before it will even do anything. I switched from an apple cell phone and watch to Samsung for both. I love my new Samsung cell phone but am disappointed in the performance of this watch.

Long time Samsung loyalist. I upgraded to this from the Galaxy Watch after the last upgrade to that device shortened my battery life to barely a day. Several friends and coworkers have the GWA 2 and raved about it, so I bit the bullet and got one. LOTS to ❤️❤️❤️ for sure, most of which is how lightweight it is. Thought I would miss the physical bezel but I do not. Fitness tracking has lots of great options and various workout. Navigation is simple (operating an Apple watch just gives me anxiety). The only thing I have to gripe about (and it's the sole reason for my 2 ⭐ rating) is the battery. I went for the Under Armour edition because I really like UA products. Not sure if it's just this model or not, exchanged my first purchase for a replacement hoping I simply received a random defective unit. Nope, this battery barely lasts a day. My gear S3 lasted me 2.5 days, my Galaxy watch would last 3-4 (before the update). My first unit would die overnight, the replacement will last through the night but I must immediately place on the charger upon waking. My usage is normal, have a 45-60 minute workout and normal daily notifications. Don't take calls on it, so not using the speaker. Searched tirelessly online for tips and tricks but nothing ultimately has worked for me. I considered returning it but my my Galaxy watch doesn't get much better life after that last update. And I do love the design and how light it is. Even the included fitness bad is my Favorite of any fitness band I've had on my past watches (and I had several). Alas, if battery life is a must consider an LTE model, those seem to have better battery life based on my interactions with friends and coworkers. But purposely did not want an LTE model and again, wanted to rep both my Samsung and Under Armour!

I would not buy this watch again if I could do it over again. It's beautiful but dang near useless to me since I don't have a samsung phone. They are getting about as bad as apple when it comes to walled garden app ecosystems. If I had a samsung phone it would be 4 stars or maybe 5 but I shouldn't need a different type of android phone to make use of the watch Battery life is great because I rarely use it. Probably get 6 days. Didn't even get a whole day my first day because I played with it a lot so you can see how little I use it now.

I've had Garmin products before but have had issues with their build quality before (i.e., don't take it swimming even though it says it's waterproof). So, I thought I would give the Active 2 a try. While I really wanted to like this watch, I couldn't. Let me start with some positives: Sleep tracking, screen resolution/brightness, variety of watch faces, watch navigation, ability to answer calls, ability to respond to texts via voice response. Battery life also wasn't too bad for this type of watch (~ 2 days) Negatives: GPS accuracy absolutely sucks. The primary reason I bought this watch was to track my mountain bike rides. I tried it several times and either the GPS didn't pick up tracking for the first 5 minutes of my ride or it was way off the path. I can't trust this thing. Secondly, I found a couple of times that the "auto-pause" didn't reengage and I lost milages I rode. Sorry, but if I can't get this to work well after my first 5 rides, I can't stick with it. A second disappointment are the apps available -- pretty much all of them are underwhelming at best. I had to purchase a separate app to "broadcast" my heart rate to my virtual training app and in the middle of the ride, it lost contact and I couldn't get the HR rate to records from that point on. Strava is OK but a bit touchy to the point I actually lost a ride because I hit the wrong button (perhaps my fault but no notice I'd lose the ride to stop me). The mobile app is also a bit lacking -- I couldn't download my ride to a file and metrics were lacking. Clearly, I should have lowered my expectations of this being able to fill my workout tracking demands/needs. Perhaps my expectations were too high and maybe this is good for the general person who doesn't care able GPS precision.

This watch looks great. I am upset because it is advertised as having an app to check your BP. Samsung after many promises never released the app. The phone has been a huge disappointment and Samsung should be ashamed. At first it was great and everything ran smoothly. Battery life was good even with all the bells and whistles enabled. I've never saved things like music to it or used it for Spotify so I can't speak to it's usage for that or where that would've come into play for performance degradation. For me that wasn't a factor. After about a year, things weren't smooth anymore. Battery life dropped down sporadically to where I'd charge it all the way up to 100% before bed and wake up to find it dead on my wrist for seemingly no reason. Now sometimes the workouts quit by themselves after a few seconds. The whole thing has just gotten worse. It's been treated with care too. Never been in the water or treated roughly. Nearly always tells me I have a low percentage of deep sleep from day one. My older Samsung gear fit 2 was better at getting that right. I replaced it with this and have been disappointed with some of the more fitness centric options/features.

I bought this watch to replace my aging Samsung S3 Frontier smart watch, hoping to get some cool new features like ECG monitoring and SPO2 tracking, which Samsung recently approved for the US. Unfortunately, because I am using a non-Galaxy phone (a Pixel4), all these features are disabled for no good reason (unless you jailbreak the watch). This is very much a bait and switch on Samsung’s end as the watch is supposed to be compatible with all current android smart phones. I would not have bought it had I known I’ll have a watch with limited functionality. So unless you have a current Galaxy smart phone, this smart watch is will measure your pulse but nothing else as the Samsung Health Monitor app is purposefully hidden.

Having used the watch for almost 18 months (it simply died after that - with the top button getting stuck!), I can't say I am happy with it. On the plus side, display was good, it had the round and simple look I prefer, pretty comfortable on my wrist and had a decent number of watch faces to choose from. On the negatives though, the watch froze quiet a few times when I had to reset it to factory settings. The battery doesn't actually last for more than a day and a half. There aren't very many useful apps. A number of faces don't have the drill down facility on heart beat, distance, steps etc. The gps tracking wasn't too accurate. Apps tend to slow down after sometime and you need to reset it. The biggest one though was the top button getting stuck and causing the whole watch to become useless. Overall I don't think I will end up recommending this again to anyone

I would be giving this watch 5 stars, but i am giving best buy 2 stars, the Hulen Location. I picked up this watch and walked out the door and didn't notice the box was double taped, meaning it had been opened or returned no way of knowing which. I tested it out and fell in love with the watch but noticed is was defective, slow and the pressure on the screen was not working and blitzing. I had to return it before my 14 day period was up. I don't think it was a factory defect but someone used it. I paid full price by the way. Sold it to me as New and not open box. I was sure this was a fluke incident so I went to a different store exchanged the watch for the same size in silver because that's all they had in stock. I will review it next.

My experience was a negative one as the product did not last a long time due to "liquid damage". I'm aware that water resistance is not the same as waterproof, but I had not done anything that would have exposed the watch to liquids for a long time (just regular day activities) and I wasn't able to get any assistance from the Samsung customer service which even got the device into a worse physical condition I sent it in. The battery will last around a day or two if you fully use all of its functions and around 3-4 days if you take most of them. Overall, not a great experience.

A few weeks after purchasing this product. I began to have a rash on my left wrist. I thought this was odd, but decided to wear my Active 22 watch on my right wrist. The rash began on the right wrist. I went to the Dr. and they advised me that I am allergic to Nickel. This is odd because I've worn watches ever since I can think of. I'm disappointed as I really liked the watch, and surprised that Samsung didn't find a better way to accommodate this. My apple watch never did that... haha

Hello JustinS, we apologize that this has been a less than ideal experience. Samsung has tested the noxious materials found on the smart watch through internal and external certificate authorities, including the test for all materials that come in contact with skin, and the skin toxicity test. Only materials that observe the standards of the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the regulations of the European countries, and other international standards are used to make the watch. There may be some discomfort if the smart watch is worn on sensitive skin, fastened too tightly, or needs to be cleaned. Some users may experience discomfort or skin irritation when wearing it for prolonged periods, or they are allergic to certain materials. ^Elizabeth Samsung
