Amazing watch!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am really enjoying this watch. It's the first smartwatch I've ever owned. I was very hesitant to buy this because I'm 5'1 and 110lbs with very small wrist and thought this watch too big. After receiving it in the mail, I cannot take it off! I think it looks great. I love the rose gold and it's very light weight. I wore this watch to work and after 10 hrs of mild use and the "Always on Display" ON, my watch was down to 54%. To me, this was great. I tested out the mic on a call and it sounds perfect! I was told I sound loud and clear on the other end as well. Overall, great watch

Best Smartwatch for Android Currently
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have been using the Samsung Galaxy Watch 42 mm (Black) for a few weeks. Battery: Lasts 1.5-2 days consistently with fairly heavy use. No concerns at all here. Display: Crisp, high contrast, AMOLED, auto brightness is excellent, responsive. Interface: Smooth, fluid, simple. Functionality is great. Hardware: A little thick, but the 42 mm size is a huge improvement from the typical 45-46 mm size of others. Solid metal, rotating bezel click is solid, high quality feel, reassuring. Conclusion: Best smartwatch for android users, size is a bit thick, but otherwise works well for most wrists, battery life reassuring, great hardware, software experience. Recommended for smartwatch users.

Nice smartwatch, inaccurate/inadequate fitness tra
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give it 3.5 if I could, overall I was really underwelmed by this watch. To be fair this is partly my fault, I should have purchased a high end dedicated fitness tracker as that is my primary useage, however, as I have never had a smartwatch and my phone is the s9+ (which I love) so i figured I'd try it out. My primary issue is the heart rate monitor, it cuts out during vigorous exercise, particularly when I am approaching my Max heart rate or if I am at all sweaty. The continuous heart monitor function just stops trying to read my heartrate. It's ok for monitoring light activity or warmups before workouts, but I have stopped using it during any intense workout as I can't rely on it to work. It is an attractive watch with a solid, quality build. It functions smoothly and the non Samsung Health related aspects work seamlessly with my phone. I would not, however, recommend it as an accurate or reliable fitness tracker for monitoring vigorous exercise. Battery is fine but way short if claims. Using it only as a continuous HR monitor synced to my phone, with screen set to off unless rotate bezel, I do not get more than 30-32 hours out of it, less if I do anything else at all with it. In total, the two biggest selling points that Samsung pushes (health monitoring and battery life) do not live up to their hype.

Fantastic watch with a couple minor issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This watch is fantastic with awesome battery life. I can easily get 2 days out of this watch without turning it off at night and a 3rd day is pushing it. Could easily make it 3 days if i turned it off. Super snappy and fast. I was going to put its bulkiness in the problem section but I understand it is very damage resistant so I can live with the bulk for more protection. Problems: 1. Audio quality over bluetooth when watch is connected my S10+ takes a small hit and i receive some static through my car speakers and gym headphones. My research hasn't found a fix for the issue but has uncovered others having the issue even in the past with Samsung Watches. Can confirm it is watch because after unpairing the sound quality returns to normal. 2. It is fairly comfortable but (having owned an apple watch before) I think you could do with a different watch strap, just comparing it to the strap on the apple watch.

Gorgeous Watch, but not a great SMART Watch
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a fan of Samsung. All of my appliances, a laptops, a printer, and a tablet are Samsung. All are solid products that keep me coming back for more. The specs list the watch as compatible with an iPhone, so I was really anxious to try one of my most preferred brands with my iPhone. What first attracted me was that the watch does not scream ‘SmartWatch” or “tech” with the default analog face. It looks like a watch, like jewelry. The Super AMOLED display is just gorgeous. It has depth, black is BLACK, colors pop. It takes a long careful look to realize that the bezel and watch hands are LCD images and not a physical mechanical face. There is a seemingly endless number of gorgeous faces to download, many of which are free. I tried a few, but the one it came with is my favorite. If you want a tech look, there are many watch faces to get that. Though gorgeous to look at, the watch face screen is slow to light up. I would bring my wrist up from my side and it seems I’m looking at a blank face for an eternity before it come alive, when it comes alive. In reality it’s only a second or two before it came on, unless I need to shake my wrist or rotate it yet further to come on. It quickly became annoying. If the watch rotates off-center on your wrist at all, forget it, it will never come on till you adjust. The display face uses Corning Gorilla Glass DX+, which should shrug off most of the scratches and cracks that would affect other watches. This will be useful as the watch is THICKER than others, so you may find yourself bumping more things with it than with a slimmer watch. I expect the black case color to get nicked and scratched more than thinner watches. It might be best to go with bright steel over black to hide the scratches better. This watch sports a stainless-steel case where others use aluminum. These helps it meet military specification (MIL-STD-810G) so drops from 4.9 feet, extreme temperatures, dust, shock/vibration, and low pressure/high altitude are all survivable. It seems the occasional MFF/HALO jump should be OK. The watch comes with a small band mounted on it. There is one longer section of watch band in the box. Replace that one section and you now have a longer band. In use, I found the plastic band uncomfortable by the end of day. I’ve had plastic bands on other watches without issue, so I don’t know why this one became irksome. The interface for app selection is superb, the best I’ve encountered. App icons are placed at the outer rim of the face. Rotate the bezel ring to select the desired app. Keep rotating and each full rotation shows the next page/ring of apps. You can change the order of the apps to put your frequently used apps first. I like this interface over picking out a small icon in in a crowded field of icons. That requires being very still and fingers far pointier than mine to get right. Until evolution gives us pointy fingers or the promise of voice recognition is met, this will work very well. Unless you have pages of apps you use heavily… But having too many apps is unlikely to be a problem. The app selection with the Tizen OS this watch runs (not Android) is not very extensive. Aside from numerous watch faces, the number of actual apps pale compared to other more mature watch OS’s. App lovers may be left wanting more. Samsung Pay is not available on an iPhone, so using your watch to pay for something is not an option. I’m sure your options will be better with a Samsung phone as far as paying for something. But there is no coffee or movie app where you can tap or have someone scan a QR code from your watch. You’ll need to keep your phone handy, which is just so 2016… I was used to leaving my phone in my pocket and using my old watch to pay for most everything, so this was a huge step back. I pinned my remaining hopes on the Health Tracker, figuring I could use it on active days. However, it failed miserably here. There were times my heart rate did not fluctuate at all, even when I climbed a flight of stairs. The watch either drastically miscounted or didn’t count the stairs or steps at all much of the time. And I really want to count those stairs! The watch, phone OS, and apps are all current. The ad seems to indicate that a sweaty workout and a swim should be OK. But be warned that this watch is listed as ‘water-resistant’ and not ‘water-proof’. I checked the warranty and it states “The Samsung Standard Limited Warranty does not cover: (a) defects or damage resulting from accident, misuse, abnormal use, abnormal conditions, improper storage, exposure to liquid, moisture, dampness, …”. A warranty claim due to water penetration may be a rejected with little recourse. I averaged slightly better than a day of battery life. Note that my use of the watch was much lighter than my other watch since I couldn’t use it to pay, get coffee, see a movie, and stopped checking the time due to the display lag. If I had used this as much as my old watch, or used the sleep tracking, I’m sure I would have had to charge it at least daily. While this is likely the finest looking smart watches I’ve used, it’s a miss in almost every other area that makes it a ‘SMART’ Watch. The lag with the display lighting up to check the time is annoying. The inconsistent step/stair counts make this unreliable as a fitness tracker. The lack of useful apps all make this nearly useless as a smartwatch to make life easier. None of the shortcomings have to do with my use of an iPhone as these are all functions and apps on the watch itself and its Tizen OS. The lack of Samsung or another method of paying with an iPhone is annoying, but expected and understandable with competing phone brands. An app for coffee and movie QR codes would surely help here. If you use an iPhone, I would pass on this watch. If you have a Samsung phone, you have a bit more to like with Samsung pay and some of the watch apps seem to tie into apps on a Samsung phone. I would recommend you carefully check it out and keep tabs on your return by date for a refund if it’s not working out for you. Fortunately, Best Buy makes returns easy, so no real harm in trying it if you are on the fence.

Galaxy Smartwatch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the watch a little over a week now and I have been wearing it almost 24/7. The battery life is really good. I get almost three days out of it before charging with a good amount of use. I know there was some issue early on regarding the step counter, but I have tested this out several times and it is almost spot on. Give or take a couple of steps. Perhaps this has been resolved since then. Anyway, I highly recommend this watch if you have an Android phone. It has been great for me thus far. If things change I will update my review, but for now it's five stars.

My wife loves this watch!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've been through smart watches before (Apple Watch), but my wife just never got to where she liked it. When this model came out, it immediately caught her attention. The smaller size (but not a square watch) and color drew her right in. After 2 weeks, she wears it everyday, and raves about it. Loves being able to leave her phone on her desk (she's a teacher) and being able to see notifications while working with students. Battery life is amazing, and it fits her smaller wrist with no issues.

Best smartwatch as of now..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: This is hands down the best design for any smartwatch available today. Got it a few days back and still discovering the features. So far it has been accurate to track steps, sleep pattern, heart rate in various exercises. Able to send and receive messages. See event on Calendar and so on. Cons: On the bulkier side. Got 42mm and can't imagine wearing 46mm one. Limited number of apps. And I dont see many more apps will come up on the Tizen OS. Overall happy with the product.

Mixed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am really torn as to how to review this. I had the GearFit2Pro and loved it, except I couldn't see the screen in the bright sun even with the brightness turned up to 10. I was thrilled when I saw that the Galaxy Watch was coming out and couldn't wait to get it. I bought the rose gold and it is really beautiful - the pictures do not do it justice. The band is very plain and doesn't flatter the watch at all, so I bought the milanese bands which look beautiful on it. I'm not used to having a watch so big and heavy, and am having much difficulty getting used to that. I love many things about it. It's nice that they finally gave us a size choice, but I would love to see one even smaller. The colors are vibrant and beautiful, and there are some neat apps. The battery doesn't last as long as advertised. I get very few texts or phone calls, and don't have notifications for Facebook or email. I do have the heart rate set at always, because I have a problem with the rhythm. I'm lucky if I get 48 hrs. I love the SOS feature, because I'm older and have had some falls. The step count is very inaccurate compared to my Fitbit Versa and GearFitPro2. They record twice as many steps. M-F I babysit for my granddaughter and am usually just walking around the house. It's about 20-40 steps to a lot of places in my house, and most of them don't get counted. I think I have to walk at least 20 steps to get them to start counting, so the step counter for me is useless. One day last week it only counted 171 steps for the whole day, and I know I had more steps than that. To summarize, I only really have 2 negatives: 1. It's too big, bulky and heavy - 2: The step count is way off. I'm considering returning it because of the negatives.

COOL WATCH BUT....
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this watch as a gift..I have been using my fitbit blaze as my fitness tracker and i was enjoying it but i wanted more from a watch. So this watch is all I wanted, some really awesome features but not as a step and calorie counter. I put both my fitbit watch and this watch to compare. I was really disappointed with the fitness part to this watch. My fitbit blaze said i walked 3 thousand plus steps while this watch said I did only 800..What? I wore it for a few days to compare but no luck. If you are getting this for all other features great, but as a fitness watch i wouldnt recommend. Call feature is great too.

Great smartwatch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have Google for my phone service and a Pixel 2 XL. Calling is pretty great, Bixby kind of sucks but it does work and I wish I would have gotten the 46mm for the battery. I'm used to the Fitbit Blaze and only needing to charge 20 minutes at night (not really needing to charge it and wearing it all the time including at night) and checking notifications and etc. It takes approx 1 1/2 hours to charge up the Galaxy from 40%. Looks like I'll get a charging station for work.

Awesome watch!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These watches are awesome. Got the Rose Gold and Midnight Black for my girlfriend and I. If you own the Gear S3 its not much of an upgrade but I do like the smaller size since my wrists aren't that big. Pros: -Smaller size option -Some new features like better workout tracking -Display looks sharper (could be due to smaller size) -New watch faces -Improved water resistance Cons: -Lack of MST for Samsung Pay
