Loving This Smart Watch

For my first smart watch experience, my husband bought me a designer brand watch but the user experience was not that great. I ended up using the watch just to tell time and it always ran out of batteries halfway through the day. This experience really turned me off of smart watches because I couldn't justify spending such a high amount for a timepiece.
When I bought this Samsung Galaxy Watch, it was on sale for a great price and I had low expectations of it. Since then, my opinions of smart watches have changed. I can receive calls from my watch, read emails, get reminders of my appointments, and it even tells me to get up and move around if I've been sitting for too long. The best thing is that the battery lasts all day and it still has about 30% left when I get home. Not to mention that it looks great. I really love this watch and hope to get one for my husband. My only concern is of the charging feature. Sometimes in the mornings, it may be at 90% charged. I am not sure if it is charging to 100% and then stopping, and then from that time until the morning, it is slowly using battery. I have had to get into the habit of checking the battery when I wake up and setting it back into the charging port to charge while I get ready for work.

My husband bought me a Samsung watch earlier this year for my birthday because I had mentioned that I was wanting a Samsung because it is the same brand as our refrigerator, TVs, cell phones, tablets, and Blu-ray player and I have had zero problems with those items. I loved it and when I showed him the features, he wanted one too! I bought this one for his birthday. He wanted the 42mm watch because he thought the 46mm size looked a bit too big on his wrist. He is still learning all of the features (as am I) and love some of them particularly.
1. Answering the phone from the watch:
We love to hang out in our back yard and play with the dog or do some gardening, but we often leave our phones in the house. By getting this watch, we can answer the phone and then go inside to complete the call, or just complete it using the watch. Plus, because it vibrates, we can feel it going off. Sometimes we are in a loud place (like a grocery store) and can't hear our phone ring, but the vibrating on our wrist works.
2. Same with texts. We can answer using our watches and we can feel the watch vibrate when we receive a text. I like being able to type the text, use hand writing, or voice. My old watch told me when I got a text, but I had to go get my phone to answer it. This watch lets you answer using the watch.
3. Activity tracker. Not only does it keep track of my steps, but it detects when I'm doing a workout and switches to the workout screen.
4. Other health monitoring. I'm keeping track of my heart rate because even with exercise, I have difficulty getting my heart rate to rise above 70 to 74 bpm. I am working on getting it higher during exercise and this lets me keep track of it while I'm exercising.
5. I like being able to change the watch faces depending on what I'm needing at the time. I can change the watch face to "weather" and "world clock" when we are traveling. I use a "health/fitness" watch face for exercise. Going out to lunch with friends (once we're allowed), I can switch it to something with flowers. Out to dinner at a fancy restaurant, I can switch it to a more elegant watch face. There are holiday themed watch faces too. There are many that are free, but even the ones you buy are very inexpensive.
6. Price: The price is outstanding for this watch.
7. Beauty: Not only can you change the watch face, but the watch itself is sleek and classy. I don't mind wearing it to any occasion.
8. Ease of use: very user friendly. You will have no problem using this watch.
9. Water-proof: You can bathe, shower, do the dishes, or even swim with the watch at up to 5 ft deep for up to 30 minutes, so you can't scuba dive with it. I don't remember the depth you're allowed to go, but you're also allowed to go in salt water with it. Just rinse it off when you come out of the water. Use the water lock mode to be on the safe side. It will prevent accidental touches on your screen.
10. Goodnight mode. You can set your watch to Goodnight Mode or Do Not Disturb while you're sleeping so you won't get your usual notifications that could possibly wake you. In the both modes, you will still be woken for alarms that you have set. There are subtle differences. In DND, you still get notifications, but they are silent. In GN mode, the screen won't come on when you get a silent notification, so if you want to sleep with your watch on to track your sleep, you won't be woken up with a bright light coming on your watch during the night.
Cons and how I fixed them (or tried):
1. If you use a watch face with the steps included on the watch face, the step numbers will most likely be inaccurate. I moved my step counter to the next screen and that worked. I carried my old tracker in my pocket for 3 months for awhile to compare and noticed that they are always very close.
2. Weather: the weather app that comes on the phone doesn't update on its own, so you can't just glance down at your watch and know the temperature or chance of precipitation. I have the app set to update hourly, but it never updates on its own. Today, I looked on the Internet and it was 75 degrees, but when I looked at my watch, it said it was 45 degrees. Then I noticed the last update was 4 days ago. Doing research on the issue, I found that this is a known problem and has been so for a long time. Since I usually have my phone with me, I will need to check it instead of my watch. I would love for this problem to be fixed!
3. Watch Band: The plastic watch band that it comes with. The first thing I did when I got my watch was buy another watch band so the band would look as elegant as the watch. I bought a metal band that has an easier clasp on it. Love it!
4. Battery: The battery lasts me about 2 days, so unless I want to have it going dead on me the second day, I really need to charge it daily. I bought an additional charger and keep one by the bed and one in the family room. I try to remember to charge it whenever I'm just sitting around but if not, I charge it while I sleep. Also the amount of time it takes to charge is pretty long. I could turn off some of the features that would make the battery last longer, but I decided when I got the watch, that I was not going to compromise functionality for a longer battery. However, once I got in the habit of charging it daily, it didn't seem to be a real inconvenience after all. It's just something you need to be aware of. I was told the 46mm battery is better, but I don't know how much better.
Overall: The features that I like about this watch outweigh the cons. In fact, the only one I'm really dealing with is the weather app, because I moved the steps to the next screen, bought a new watch band, and charge the watch daily.

Works with the iphone and the battery is so much better than the Apple watch. You can buy great after market bands for the watch that you can dress up or down and they are very simple to remove and replace. Looks like a normal watch and not something from Star Trek. It's a bit thick (wish it was a bit thinner), but most smart watches seem to be a bit thick.

I love this watch!!! It look amazing and looks like a legit watch instead of the ugly square Apple Watch. About a million times more customize options compared to Apple, and the bezel makes navigation so easy! Much much more durable than the Apple Watch as well. I have an iPhone and get all the capabilities I need, you can not send texts or phone calls but can receive them, which is all I need, I just want to see who’s texting without pulling my phone out. And you do miss out on Apple Pay, but you can easily set up Samsung Pay instead. Has all the fitness capabilities of the Apple Watch with a much much more attractive design. Can also use ANY 20mm watch bands, unlike Apple can only use Apple proprietary bands. And at the price it’s so much more desirable in every way!

Pros:
1) Super light weight. I can easily wear it in bed without any discomfort
2) Beautiful screen
3) Simple and elegant style
4) Lots of features
5) Fitness features are pretty accurate
Cons:
1) Screen could be a little big bigger, bezel occupies too much space on the screen. Sometime it makes it difficult to interact
2) No out of the box support for Google maps
3) Battery - It lasts around 24 hours on normal use. Wonder what will happen when it gets older. Two hours for full charge with magnetic charger
All in all, I highly recommend this watch for anyone looking to pick up a solid smart watch for a reasonable price that is still packed with tons of features you would expect from a more expensive option. It is comfortable, stylish, and functional

Got it for fitness tracking & the app and watch work together flawlessly. You can choose many categories and arrange in desired order. Being able to twist the edge of the watch or swipe is good. You can have other apps interacted with the watch. Receive notice of calls, messages & reject or not. The many watch face choices is good. I chose one with all my stats categories. You can even show pics on watch face. If I want to use my phone in my car I put the watch in airplane mode otherwise calls go through watch & does not pair with the car bluetooth system. The same goes for pairing with headphones. This Galaxy watch is easy to use and regular watchbands can be bought for it. The sleep tracking is great too.

Fitness Tracking & Battery Issues

I love the watch overall, from features to appearance. However, the fitness tracking & battery life are severely lacking.
The Galaxy Watch was supposed to replace my Fitbit Blaze. After purchasing on day 1, I wore both simultaneously for almost a week. By the end of the day, the Galaxy Watch will only show around half of the steps my Fitbit will. I can literally walk and not see steps added on the Samsung. On top of that, the floors seem to max out at 18, while the Fitbit may show 4 times that.
The advertised 3 day battery life for the smaller watch may be a bit of an exaggeration. My watch barely makes it through a full day with normal use. Being concerned about these critical features (for me at least), I spoke with my local Best Buy. They seemed to think it was a defective unit and switched it out no questions asked.
After a day and a half with the new unit, it is apparent that the same issues are present. I'm hoping that these issues will get worked out with software updates instead of being poor hardware. Samsung customer service was not able to help with either issue. Love the watch, but may have to rely on a separate fitness tracker for accurate info if I choose to keep it.

Purchased it as Open Box - Excellent condition from BB and it came with everything untouched in the box. I've been using this watch for a month now with my Pixel 3 XL and I can say I'm very impressed. I wanted something I could wear to the office and not look too sport-y if that makes sense. I like the spinning bezel to switch between the apps. As a non-Samsung user, I needed to download some extra apps to use the watch but so far so good. I haven't tried using Google Pay on it yet, but will update this review if I do.
My only minor comments on it is that it requires frequent charging and can be a big hefty feeling.

I was searching for a smartwatch for the last couple months but was never satisfied with any. So glad I waited, the minute I checked it out after an email was sent to me about the release date I was sold! The color is perfect, features are a plus, built in speaker for calls is awesome and the activity tracker is nice to have. List can go on... I love everything about it! I know they say it's compatible with apple but can't say for sure because I don't own an iPhone but my husband owns a frontier and paired with iphone 8 and receives all notifications just lacks the ability to reply to msg/txt from the watch unlike with mine I can reply to any msg, txt or social media from the watch. I own a galaxy 8

I love it. Its a beautiful watch. I was alittle worried about finding bands to go with the rose gold found a bunch of bands on amazon. It is a very great workout companion and motivator. It's pretty accurate with counting reps. I thought it was going to be annoying texting old school but its actually not bad at all. It's very responsive to your voice also. Notifications are instant. I would like to see more apps. I have very tiny wrists so it does take alittle time to get used to it but you do get used to it. I have to wear it on hole 5 to be comfortable because hole 6 is too tight. It does move alittle while I work out but it's not that bad. All in all I love it

Excellent battery life and features. The 42mm is perfect for medium size wrist. Very satisfied. Has different dial designs to select from and mostly you will never need to pay to download new dials unless there is something you really like to do. I am happy with all the available options there. The best feature is able to take and make calls from the watch. Since it's a non-LTE watch(doesn't have SIM), your watch has to be near the Bluetooth range of you watch-mobile to stay connected and make or receive calls or to send or receive texts and messages.

I got this for my son (I got the larger, 46mm for me). I love the size and look of this watch. I'm tall, but the larger one is still a little too large for me (I got it for the extra day of battery life). This one still gets 2-3 days of battery life, but my son tends to charge it every night. We like the features. In particular, we like that we can receive and send texts and phone calls (though sending texts is a bit hard). Similar for emails (easy to see them, but hard to reply). I turned off email notifications because I get too many (and it drains the battery faster for both the watch and phone). I do like getting calendar notifications.

This was my first smart watch. I got it because my job required me to be tied to my phone while also being attentive to the real humans around me and I kept missing messages coming through my device. I needed a way to more easily track what was happening, and this was a great solution. It's been a couple of years now and I still really like it. I don't ever wear it to sleep, as I personally don't think it would be super comfortable. It is a bit thick, which is fine for daytime use usually, but during some activities where my wrist needs to bend in certain ways, I have accidentally triggered the pay button. Pretty annoying, as there is no way to disable it, but that is kind of the main issue, aside from being a little heavy. I usually take it off asap when I don't need to wear it, like right after work or something, but I am pretty sensitive and do this with all of my jewelry and glasses every day.
The battery isn't as good as something like a fitbit but it does last longer than my workday. Sometimes it will still be at 60% or something at the end of the day, which is fine for my use case. I charge all my devices at night so this one gets put on its charger daily and it's fine. If you do want to be able to sleep in it and use it during the day, the battery may let you down.
I have definitely gotten more use from it that I expected and it's nice to get reminders to stand up or move around, as I have a job now that requires me to sit at a desk for long periods and often forget to take breaks. There are some other helpful apps I've found, such as an incremental timer that will automatically reset itself for as many intervals as you'd like, to go off at a set increment. I use this to remind me to take deep breaths every so often and it has been really good (this particular app doesn't come with it, I purchased for like a dollar, and it was worth it!) I like the options for customizing the watch faces too. I found a free one I really like and it looks really cute.
I was thinking about upgrading but honestly will probably stick with this one a little longer. If you have a galaxy phone, the integration is really good. I haven't ever tried it with other phones, but for the galaxy it is great.

I upgraded from a Gear S3 watch that I loved but the battery was slowly dying and it did not hold a charge all day anymore. I am very pleased with the battery life of the Galaxy watch. I can get 2 days on one charge and even new the S3 did not have that. This new Galaxy watch is much like the previous iterations. A bit thicker but still the wonderfully easy to use and understand rotating bezel. Samsung makes the smart watch easy to use and I find it fun to change up my watch face and add apps that are helpful.
All in all, unless Samsung really screws up, I think they have one of the best watches around.
