My wife had a fitbit, and i bought her the new Rose Gold Gear. Score, right? No, she noticed she wasn't getting as many steps as she normally does, as a teacher. Wore the fit bit at same time, gear watch is significantly and repeatedly off by a couple thousand steps. In some cases, the pedometer seems stuck and does not even work....

Only had the watch 3 days and took it back. It wasn't comfortable at all and I tried to wear it in 3 different spots. After the first couple of hours of wearing it when I took it off my wrist hurt so bad I could I could nearly move it because the watch is so big.

    Beautiful, Impressive Smart Watch

I have the galaxy 42mm black smart watch and I love it. The size is perfect, and it looks and functions great. In recent years I’ve had a 38mm Apple Watch, a Gear S3 Classic (too big at 46mm), and a 38mm Citizen EcoDrive—the 42mm Galaxy is easily the watch I like the best. It looks as good as the analog Eco Drive and has all the functions and more of the Apple Watch, while being faster, better looking, and a better size than the S3. I paired this with my iPhone and it does everything my Apple Watch did and more, but with a much better, more stylish and attractive look. It is a quality watch with a nice, solid build (it feels a lot more solid to me than the S3 Classic). Everything works great and fast: heart rate, calories, music controls, weather, step counter, etc. Another huge selling point that elevates this watch above the Apple Watch are the watch faces. The Galaxy watch has a lot of beautiful faces—it comes with 10 or 12 preloaded and there’s probably 4 of them I’d be happy to use, a couple that I love, and all of them are better than the 14 or 16 total Apple Watch faces. I used the Mickey Mouse face on my Apple Watch—not because I liked it, but because I really disliked all the rest of the very small number of choices. The pre-installed Galaxy faces are all better, and I actually love the default face, but if I didn’t there are thousands of faces available (unlike the Apple Watch). The battery seems really good as well: I’ve been using the heck out of my Galaxy since picking it up early yesterday (about 36 hours ago), haven’t turned anything off or done anything to extend battery life, haven’t charged it yet, and I’m still at 47% power. I should easily get a couple days of normal use between charges and could probably push it farther.

    Coolest Watch I've Ever Owned!!

So, I've basically had FitBit watches until getting the Galaxy Watch, so I can't give any comparison to previous generations of the Samsung watch series, but I can compare it to the FitBit Blaze that I have. This smartwatch is light years ahead of the Blaze! It's entering an entirely different dimension of usability and connectivity. When I'm wearing this watch, I'm not thinking about it as a health monitor like the FitBit, although it has all the health monitoring features of the FitBit. The health monitoring takes a back seat to all the other cool things this watch can do, so it's not always on my mind that I'm wearing a fitness tracker, which makes me want to wear it everywhere. It looks like a regular wristwatch, and it doesn't scream "I'm wearing a fitness tracker!", which is very nice. One of the coolest features is the way the well-known divers watch ring around the watch face works in a tactile feedback kinda way as you use it to cycle through pages, apps, or scrolling the text up and down while reading something on the screen. It's very functional, and intuitive! The clock faces are amazing, and wow there are a LOT of them you can use and download. It's like having a watch for every mood / occasion with a couple clicks. I love this! The faces display all kinds of information besides the time, if you want it like that, or just the time if you want to keep things simple. I was wondering how the battery life would be on a watch like this, and I was pleasantly surprised. With moderate usage, I have so far been charging it every 3 days or so, which is super easy with the wireless charging cradle that comes with the watch. You just set it in the little cradle, and it has a slight magnetic cling, and starts charging. No having to plug in a cable every time! Very slick! The integration with my Android phone, which is not a Samsung btw, is excellent. I've used the watch to send text messages, and make phone calls so far. The speaker on the watch is about what you'd expect from a watch sized speaker, I'd say. Decent enough for my tastes, but probably would not please everyone. It's a great extension of my phone, and allows me to interact with my phone without having to pull it out of my pocket, and also allows me to launch apps on the phone to see things "on the big screen". Super cool! The display is small, obviously, but it's surprisingly useful. It's obvious this has benefited from several generations of smartwatch improvements, and feels very polished. The UI is quite intuitive. Widgets let you have have all sorts of apps front and center, and you just cycle between them using the dial or the touch screen navigation. Then, you can see your last used apps, or step into the app directory with the app icons arranged in a ring fashion with paging, so it doesn't get overwhelming. I generally don't have any issue clicking the touchscreen, but sometimes if a clickable element is on the outer edge they can take a couple attempts to click depending on the size of your fingertips. Might be an issue for some, but a good amount of the clicking takes place towards the center. One really cool thing the Sumsung Health app does is remind you to do a some simple exercises or stretches, and suggest something, then goes into an interactive visual guide of the exercise and walks you through the exercise and counts your reps as you do them. This feels a lot more interactive than my FitBit, which is really basic in comparison. The setup was really easy, and the app on your phone that you download lets you adjust watch settings, look for new watch faces, see your fitness information... as a gadget nerd, this is nergasm material with this watch! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a smartwatch. I haven't tried connecting to a set of bluetooth headphones, but the bluetooth connection to my phone works excellent. The screen is bright and clear. Very easy to read in any lighting! Ok, back to playing with my new smartwatch :) So cool!
