Watch is great, band causes irritation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this watch, but the band causes an irritation on my skin. I contacted samsung, but they wanted to me to send the watch away for testing, even though I know it has nothing to do with the actual watch. It's just the band! Luckily they sell replacement bands made from different materials.

Samsung doesn't stand behind their warranty
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this watch on 2/28/19 and am writing this review 9/16/19. The watch itself is functionally great and for that I'm reluctant to giving it only 1 stars. However, the band has failed (the holes stripped out) under normal use-- not a big deal. My issue is that Samsung is refusing to warranty it. I don't know if this is policy or the act of some uninformed agents handling my case, but it doesn't align with the expressed 1 year warranty in writing (see attached image with URL).

Good but needs improvement

Poor craftsmanship
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had great hopes, I like many features of the watch, I bought one for myself and my wife. Less than a year after the back plastic cover for the health sensors became unglued, first mine and two months later, my wife's.

Disappointed in the condition of the product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am disappointed in the condition of this product. I bought the new-opened box option, but the product seems to have been either refurbished or used. The watch was dirty with gunk in the screw holes located on the back of the watch. When the watch is placed on the charger it says, "use original charger," so I assume the original watch is not the one we received. The dial also seems worn. It seems to operate fine, but I didn't realize I was paying for a new watch and receiving a used one.

Save yourself the headache
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It stopped sending alerts to my phone after 6 months. Sent it to Samsung as per warranty and they gave me a bill of almost $350 claiming water damage and refusing to diagnose the original issue. Mind you, I only showered with this watch maybe 4 times since I purchased.

I hate it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Galaxy watch. It does everything I want and more. But once I start to exercise I fail to have a heartrate. I don't know where it goes, it's there all day. It tracks my heartrate all day perfectly but no matter how much I move it or clean the sensor or shave the hair from my arm I have no heartrate while exercising. Huge fail Samsung, yuge.

Great for running and so much more!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm really enjoying my Galaxy Watch. I ordered because of the holiday price drop as a birthday present for myself. Initially I wanted it to help with tracking my running as I found my phone by itself would sometimes not track the routes (GPS) at times despite being on high performance setting. It was also difficult getting my phone into my running belt when I run with my dogs since they get so excited at the start of a run. The watch has been great for tracking the runs and having that information available on my wrist. However, it is much more useful than just that initial purpose. It is has a nice apps you can download and saves having to have my phone on me when at home. I can leave the phone in a room and not miss calls, texts, or notifications from a myriad of apps. I had been debating between this and the Garmin Instinct and very happy I waited and went with the Samsung. The battery life is one of the big selling points with this watch. It easily goes 2-3 days between charges. I like the classy look to it as well, goes well with everybody outfits or even when dressing up in a suit. The use of the rotating bezel is a terrific design feature as well. I continue to find new uses for the watch and explore its features. Very happy with what I got for the price paid with this watch. I have many watches and now this is in the top 3 of the watches I regularly wear. Great product!

Great Smartwatch on a Great Platform.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Main thoughts: I've had this smartwatch for over a month now and I'm satisfied with the product. The unboxing experience was pretty premium feeling and once the watch was powered on, the setup was straightforward and easy to understand. My step dad and I had fun figuring out how the Galaxy Watch worked, from it's textured buttons to the physical rotating bezel used to get between menus. You can use the touchscreen to swipe too, but the bezel offers another input and it's quicker. My Galaxy Note 9 detected it during setup and pairing between the watch and phone was seemless (akin to the experience between Apple Watch and the iPhone). Although this watch can pair with any smartphone, even iPhones, the experience is enhanced if you have a Samsung phone like I do. After the update process, it was ready to go. Not only can I see my work calendar and events on my wrist, but it tracks my steps, calories, heart rate, and sleep at night. I can go about 2 1/2 days before having to charge, sometimes three if I stretch it. The watch can also detect workouts and for someone active like me, this was a good addition. Last week when I was in the gym, it detected that I was on an exercise bike and started tracking my heart rate and calories while factoring in the time before it started tracking. Note that you have to be doing the exercise at least 10 minutes before it activates. Phone calls on the watch are clear and my voice could be heard clearly on the other side while the built in speaker on the watch is loud enough and clear enough for conversations. The AMOLED screen is bright and can be seen in direct sunlight and it always adapts to the light around you so that's cool. All of this runs on Tizen OS which is pretty snappy and because of that, I didn't experience any of the horror stories that I read and listened to about Google Wear OS watches. Pretty reliable software. Miscellaneous: I'm not that into style or fashion but I got a few positive comments about how good the Galaxy Watch looks. The silver option is clean and professional, and it has the benefit of looking like a regular, circular watch, unlike the square design of the Apple Watch. - I had a few reservations about getting the 46 mm size, but I quickly got use to it and the bigger size has the added benefit of extra battery life which I needed. I would suggest you try out the watches at a Best Buy demo and get the right size for you. - I really like the fact that, despite this not being a Galaxy Watch Active device, I get more than enough fitness functionality to not feel like I'm missing out on anything. I want a smartwatch that happens to be good at fitness tracking, not a fitness tracker that's poor at being a smartwatch. This is truly a smartwatch with little to no compromises and fits in any occasion!

Really great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this watch 2 weeks ago. I wanted something that would tell time, track fitness, and allow notifications. This watch does everything I wanted and more. It is a good looking, current, and relevant piece of equipment. Lots of watch face options. There is really only one issue I have with the watch... it is horrible at counting the floors I have climbed. I am shorted every day! There isnt really much of a way to verify steps, but it seems to do a great job tracking those. This watch helps motivate me to get up from my desk and get some steps, until I can actually get home to exercise. Very happy with the purchase at this point. Highly recommend.

First big smart watch purchase after activity trac
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay so I've had this for about a month and overall it's an excellent smartwatch. Cons: 1. The size - definately a tidy bit too big but if you wear it with a degree of confidence you can definately get away without it being in the way. 2. Color options- I have the larger 46mm silver color and that's the problem it only comes in silver. Although I would have preferred black I am happy with this and it looks great. Paid apps- a lot of apps such as navigation, spotify, etc are paid apps which to me kinda should come with the watch and not as an additional expense. Pros: 1. Battery life - simply amazing for all this watch can do. With heavy moderate-heavy use I get about 4 days on a single charge. This includes using it as a phone and in the gym to track activities and listen to/control music. I believe that is way better than what apple has to offer. Activity tracking - is again excellent if you have read my review of the s9+ and combine it with this watch you can get so much out of it. Will track anything including bench press reps. Call quality- is amazing. My wife can't tell if I'm using the watch or the speaker on my phone. This is just the bluetooth version and not LTE. Waterproof- it is swim ready. Now a lot of people talk about how the older garmin activity trackers weren't covered by the warranty after water damage. Well folks it actually says it on the packing that the watch is not indestructible so with bumps or damages you are compromising waterproofness just as you would in almost any other device. For an added peace of mind I got the best buy protection plan as it is pretty much no questions asked we will help you and you dont have to go through Samsung which is not as well set up as apple is across the country.

The Best but not perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this watch for a month. Let me start with the worst I've heard. Bixby, the personal assistant. It is true that it is nowhere near google voice if you want to know the size of the moon or who was the first man to land on the moon. But, if you want it to do watch related things like set an appointment or check your schedule, or start an app or launch a timer, or call someone it works great. Now, for the positives: as far as the usability of the watch the bezel ring is the best way to navigate a menu. Way better than apple in my view where you are trying to tap on one of the tiny little balls to launch an app. It is swim proof and with 50 meters of water resistance it is more than most will ever need. I think it is beautiful and very well made. It does not have 10k apps but it has the apps I want. Navigation, camera remote, flashlight, find my phone (I use this one more than I'd like to), calculator, timer, etc. One last thing. NONE of these smartwatches really compete with a fully dedicated fitness tracker but this one does really well. I set up my four favority sports and I just touch the one I want and it goes. I can run with music without my phone and although the wrist based HR is not as accurate as a chest strap, I really don't mind. It is close enough. This watch is great but if you are a triathlete or hard core exercise person it may not be enough. However, I've never had a more accurate lap counter in the pool. That was a pleasant surprise where it did better than my fitness tracker. All in all, I think it is the best smart watch out there.
