The features are pretty cool but dissatisfying with the battery life. It also delayed ringing between the phone(Note 10 plus) and the watch.

    The Apple Watch for Android

    Posted .

Let me start by saying, I've had more smart watches than I can count. I've had multiple Android Wear watches, previous Samsung watches and two Apple Watches, so I've had some great smart watches and some not so great. The Galaxy Watch 4 is the closest Android has gotten to having it's own Apple Watch, especially if you're the owner of a Samsung phone. To keep it short and sweet, it has the best of Samsung and Google. The watch is super fluid, the screen is absolutely gorgeous and so far the battery life has been pretty good. Bixby is now in a place where I can rely on it for voice dictation and replies. The design is super lightweight, I sometimes forget it's there. If you're on the fence, I recommend it.

I wear this everyday. I'm not in a construction job. J work at a desk. It's been 1 month since I have this and there is already 2 SIGNIFICANT scratches in the screen from regular daily use. Will definitely never get another Samsung watch. My old galaxy gear was 5 years old and had 0.

Extremely disappointed with the quality of this product. I've still have a fully functional Gear S3 Frontier, Gear S3 Classic and Gear S. Only the Gear S2 stopped working (battery died) & it lasted longer than 5 years! This so called "modern marvel" has been reset several times as everytime a firmware update is installed, it gets wonky as hell, like won't connect to Bluetooth, won't charge correctly, won't sync data with phone and to top it off, Best Buy Totaltech doesn't deal with this & wants me to deal with Samsung Korea! A complete waste of money

Just upgraded from a Fossil Sport (mid-2019) to this Galaxy Watch 4. What an incredible difference! The Galaxy is smooth and responsive. Unlike my old watch, when I get a call on my phone, the Galaxy Watch actually starts ringing immediately, and displays the controls to answer or decline. No lag at all. The interface is crisp and smooth, with nice haptic feedback. The Galaxy is paired with my Google Pixel 5, and I've had no issues with Samsung playing well with Google. However, it's still very-much a watch that's built for the Samsung ecosystem. As a Google Pixel user, I really enjoyed the clean/pure Wear OS interface on the Fossil Watch, without all the extra Samsung bloat. But the Fossil can't compare to this Galaxy in terms of performance, which more than makes up for the extra litter of Samsung software. The wad of Samsung apps don't really interfere with anything, but they don't get used either. I was hoping that Samsung's move away from Tizen and their collaboration with Google would've resulted in more flexibility. But no. For example, I'm a fan of Google Pay. I installed Google Pay and it works fine, but Samsung Pay is still there; sitting, unused. I don't want it, but I can't uninstall it. That said, I really don't notice it and if I could give 4.5 stars, I would. It's not that big of a deal, but 5 is perfect, and the mandatory Samsung software is definitely not my idea of perfect. The build, size, battery life, and responsive interface is exactly what I was hoping for. It does not disappoint. And at around $280, I got the watch, and a two year accidental coverage plan, for about $100 less that an Apple Watch. I'm totally happy with my purchase, and I'd definitely recommend the Galaxy Watch 4 to friends and family.

The watch screen burned in after only a half year

Ive been using this watch for about a half year or less and at first thought it was pretty good. But then the screen burned in and it seems the only way to fix burn in is to replace the screen. For those that dont know screen burn in is when the image being displayed on the screen gets permanently burned into the screen

I use this watch everyday and have had it since December 2021. I love this watch and I would love to upgrade to one of the newer one soon! I wear it to bed at night as well to track my sleep and it helps! It also helps when i have a panic attack because it helps me to breathing exercises. I definitely recommend this watch as I don't need to upgrade because it still works amazing! My reason is only that I want to upgrade so if you want a older watch i reccomend the Galaxy watch 4!

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 (44 mm, BT, Silver) is an excellent smartwatch choice for Android, especially Samsung users. Its outstanding display, extensive health monitoring, and smooth performance outweigh the moderate battery life. For health-conscious smart buyers who charge nightly without hassle, it's a great pick worthy of serious consideration

    Galaxy Watch 4 Non-Classic 44mm Bluetooth Version

Better than my Fossil Gen5 bluetooth, here’s why. #1. Actual usable touchscreen diameter: Samsung 35mm. Fossil 33mm. Samsung gives you 12.5% more area. #2. The Samsung has adjustable touch sensitivity and it works! The Fossil’s touch sensitivity is spotty and often times takes multiple taps or swipes to activate a touch function. #3. Samsung migrating to Wear OS was a must for me to consider this product . Samsung’s decision not to go with Wear OS for the Watch 3 was probably the only reason I went with the Gen5 last year. Wear OS’s app ecosystem is better imho. #4. This is more of a sidenote: I bought a non-classic because I thought paying $120+ for a rotating bezel was a waste of money. You could buy a pair of Galaxy Buds+ on sale for that price and still have money left over. No one I know is complaining about how their phone is lacking a rotating bezel button to scroll through apps so I don’t see why this is any different for a watch. Also, anything that rotates (mechanically) has the ability to fail. My Fossil has a rotating center button that eventually became very difficult to turn due to pressures exerted on it from clothing with tight wrist cuffs. Normal cuffs are probably fine. Tight cuffs to keep wind out (biking, motorcycling etc) eventually hindered this buttons ability to rotate smoothly/easily. Sidenote #2. The wristband style doesn’t bother me. To each their own. #5. The ability to program the home button as a double tap shortcut to see your recent apps is a time saver! If you’re at the gym and switching between spotify, the timer app and google keep to check your next set’s wt/reps you’ll be super happy. #6. And a final reason for buying this product is that Samsung has an excellent BUY BACK PROGRAM! So come the next generation Galaxy watch you should be able to upgrade by trading in your functional GW4! Potential Cons: #1. Know that Samsung’s health app is set to automatically log your physical activity (steps, beats per minute etc). If you don’t like this, immediately go to the app and change the settings before you start working out. This data can be erased and the app's auto data collection feature deactivated/reactivated at any time. Recommendations: My only request is that Samsung allow BOTH watch buttons be fully shortcut programmable. Currently, only the home button is shortcut programmable. The other is permanently set to Samsung Pay. PS: To clarify "battery life"/"durability". I charge my watch everyday prior to going to bed. Battery life has been excellent with wifi off, bluetooth on and nfc on throughout the day. Same as my Fossil if not better. I baby my electronics so ymmv regarding durability. So far no issues with gym workouts though. I would highly recommend this item. Oh...and the linkage of Samsung phone apps to the watch is nice as well (the alarm app comes to mind in particular).
