    I dont know, but this watch (lte) should be capable of being used as a stand-alone device. Different verizon support reps also seem to believe this, but, after so many hours, on the phone with Verizon, it appears you may only use this as a companion device, with a smartphone. I expect this is verizion, not samsung. I find itvodd that the only standalone watch Verizon currently supports is apple.

    My watch active 2 i bought years before this one and it still works john gave it to my daughter because I thought I had a new one that would work for a long time
