It's been 2 months since purchasing and I'm seeing new things about the device daily but the major down side is the battery consumption; IT"S AWFUL. It doesn't last a full day without charging.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Samsung Galaxy Watch8 requires a Samsung mobile phone to use the most important health monitoring functions. Generic Android phones will not work. Samsung Galaxy Tablets will not work. (It took an hour of conversation with their online support agent to get it to finally admit this. At one point it actually told me that I could set up the watch without a Samsung phone as long as I used a Galaxy phone instead.) So if you want to use these functions, you must own additional Samsung products. Moreover, the phone must have and active mobile/internet connection, according to the documentation. Finally, in their privcy statement Samsung claims the right to maintain substantial and personally identifiable data on their remote servers in indeterminate countries where US laws have no effect. It is not clear whether this includes personal health data. I did not see where such data was specifically excluded from that being captured nor did I see any promise that such data would not be captured in the future. The invasive privacy data collection/terms coupled with the proprietary and captive design of the device (vis-a-vis Apple) was unacceptible to me. I returned the watch. (Kudos to Best Buy for accepting the return without issue.)

Ugly design

I bought an open box-excellent and it came with a cracked screen and scratches worse than my current smartwatch. Whoever returned this, seriously? That's rude. Whoever allowed it to be returned, seriously? Was it your last day?

I fell 2 days ago and had to go to the emergency room. My contact has not been notified as of yet. I want to return it. Do i go thru online or the store?

Great Watch - Must have Android accessory!

Quite frankly, this thing blows Apple Watch outta the water! Pros: Battery life is fantastic Super easy set up Completely customizable Ease of use is a plus- gestures are very intuitive Stylish "squircle" design is closer to a traditional time piece Great speakers/sound quality, even with calls. Again, this watch outperforms the Apple Watch in this category Bright, vivid screen Cons: Takes a bit to charge- average time is about 1-2 hours depending on usage Screen is very reflective- although this is true, I haven't really found it to be a problem for me Watch band is high quality but doesn't let your wrist breath at all so my wrist gets pretty sweaty Having a separate service with all of its own settings (and it's a lot of settings) can be a con but personally, I love the customization/options available Step/exercise tracking does not seem to be super accurate so take that with a grain of salt. It's more of a general guideline to know approximately what your activity levels are

It is not so i spent my hard earned money on a watch that doesnt work

The store agent is not that friendly too when I return the item and worst of all I did not get my reward points back too! Will recommend the brandnew item because it looks awesome

I had to remove all security functions just to be able to get the watch to work. I cannot have the security pin on it or anything else because when I did, it stayed locked, and I could not access the watch at all.

Not a significant update - annoying form factor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.My kids have both had the Galaxy Watch 7 for a while and I had to replace one due to it being unable to charge any longer. The Watch 7 was out of stock so I bought the Galaxy Watch 8 to replace it. While it's cool to get an updated watch there's a few things about it that just arent great. The most important thing really is that since this has a larger battery the lifespan is definitely a little longer, enough so that it is noticed if not dramatic. The watch 7 and 8 are based on the same hardware except for the battery and screen brightness so there's not a significant gain here. Where the annoyance starts though is that the Watch 8 is a different shape than the 7. Cases and screen protectors for the 7 do not fit on the Watch 8. In addition they've changed out the watch bands attach to the watch, and it is different enough that the watch bands that basically fit every watch ever made do not fit this watch. While it does offer a cleaner looking edge, it's annoying that you have to buy watch bands made for it, which truly limits your options. If you have a watch 7 it's not worth the upgrade, but if it's your first foray into smart watches it might be worth it for you.
