||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Samsung Galaxy Watch8 requires a Samsung mobile phone to use the most important health monitoring functions. Generic Android phones will not work. Samsung Galaxy Tablets will not work. (It took an hour of conversation with their online support agent to get it to finally admit this. At one point it actually told me that I could set up the watch without a Samsung phone as long as I used a Galaxy phone instead.) So if you want to use these functions, you must own additional Samsung products. Moreover, the phone must have and active mobile/internet connection, according to the documentation. Finally, in their privcy statement Samsung claims the right to maintain substantial and personally identifiable data on their remote servers in indeterminate countries where US laws have no effect. It is not clear whether this includes personal health data. I did not see where such data was specifically excluded from that being captured nor did I see any promise that such data would not be captured in the future. The invasive privacy data collection/terms coupled with the proprietary and captive design of the device (vis-a-vis Apple) was unacceptible to me. I returned the watch. (Kudos to Best Buy for accepting the return without issue.)

My samsung ultra watch does the same. These watches are great for media control and things of that nature but for fitness, think im going another direction after this purchase. Disappointed

Notifications are lagging

I bought an open box-excellent and it came with a cracked screen and scratches worse than my current smartwatch. Whoever returned this, seriously? That's rude. Whoever allowed it to be returned, seriously? Was it your last day?

It is not so i spent my hard earned money on a watch that doesnt work

As of 3/31/26, select Galaxy users in the U.S. can conveniently monitor and track their blood pressure right from their wrist with help from Galaxy Watch and the Samsung Health Monitor App. Samsung’s Blood Pressure monitoring feature will begin a phased rollout to users in the U.S. on March 31, 2026, for Galaxy Watch4 and later released models (excludes Galaxy Fit), with Watch OS 4.0 or higher, Android OS 12 or higher. The blood pressure monitoring feature is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions, or in the cure, mitigation, treatment or prevention of disease. Consult your physician if you have any questions or concerns about your medical condition or treatment. This feature requires a third-party blood pressure cuff (sold separately) for initial and periodic calibrations (every 28 days). Be sure to read and follow instructions to calibrate the blood pressure function. The Samsung Health Monitor app becomes available for download once the Galaxy Watch is connected to the Galaxy phone. After enabling Blood Pressure monitoring in the Samsung Health Monitor app users can view blood pressure readings in the app and take blood pressure measurement on a connected Galaxy Watch. I fell 2 days ago and had to go to the emergency room. My contact has not been notified as of yet. I want to return it. Do i go thru online or the store?

I had to remove all security functions just to be able to get the watch to work. I cannot have the security pin on it or anything else because when I did, it stayed locked, and I could not access the watch at all.
