Love the Gear Fit2 function and physical fit (I have very small wrists and it is quite comfortable). The choice of watch faces is fun and the notifications feature is great - especially being able to choose which applications' notifications come thru on Fit2 and which ones don't. The ability to totally integrate with the S Health app (and thereby with partner apps/sites) by using exercise tracking functions on your wrist is awesome. I just wish it held a charge for longer periods of time without having to turn down brightness, use power saving mode, etc.

    Samsung On A Roll

As the second generation of their fitness bands, Samsung is continuing to bring about great products. First of all the price is amazing! $180? Thank You Samsung. I bought the Gear Fit 2 as soon as the doors open and so far this band has met my expectations with all its features. It feels very good on the wrist with this soft material. The charging is EASY! Magnet and it charges fast. The message previews are very clean and eligible. The "message back" options are great especially with it having emojis ready for a quick response. The internal storage is great. adding music is super easy. Heart rate sensor is fast. Long story short guys, this device is amazing. Feels great, does its job. Especially in the fitness area. I DEFINITELY recommend it.

I really like the fit and display of this device. You can load music if you'd like. It automatically tracks a workout, and you don't have to have your phone with it in order for it to track. I also like to use it to track my sleep efficiency.

    Great Fitness Watch

I've been seeking a fitness watch for a couple of months. I am glad I found the Samsung GearFit2. This is my first fitness smartwatch and I am not disappointed. I like the fit and color (small, blue) as well as the functions that fit my needs. I wanted the watch to primarily keep track of my walking activity and my impressions are quite favorable. I've had a few quirks with the GPS tacker losing my location, but nothing to bad. Over the past few weeks of use, I've become more cognizant of my normal movement activity and like how the Gear Fit2 has a reminder function when I've been idle for more than 50 minutes. Overall, I love this watch and I will reiterate that I haven't been disappointed.

I have always been an Apple fan. But I didn't like the apple watch. So I decided to give Samsung a try and I am impressed. Yes, the Samsung Gearfit 2 is now compatible with iPhone 7. I used the exercise tracker, sleep tracker, and phone alerts. Other than the sometimes delayed sleep info, everything works really well. You have to download the samsung gear fit app. The screen is awesome, better than other bands. The battery life is decent, last 2 days. So far, I'm very happy with it.

Next to Smart Watch, My Favorite

I love my Gear Fit2 and so happy I did not purchase a Fit Bit. Small vs Large just means how small or large your wrist it. Basically, women = small, men = large. It had nothing to do with the width of the band. They are both the same width. I actually have the Samsung Gear 2 which came out just after the Neon and has a camera, phone, and tons of fun stuff but it's a little more bulky. I decided that I wanted to wear something that would make me forget that I had it on. This watch is just that. I read tons of reviews that complained about the wrist band coming off and then I want on the Samsung site and there were no complaints on their reviews. I have had my Gear Fit2 for about a week and I have no issues with the wrist band. It does not come off and even if it came undone, the it will stay on your write. I guess, if you put grocery bags (a lot) around the watch then it my make it come open but again, it seems to stay on because it has another little section that you first put it through that holds on to it (does that make sense?). I could not find a timer except when you do the exercise and I don't know how to turn of the awake hours so that it starts ever morning and not continue from the night before. I also want to add items that are on the app but it will not let me. Overall, great item.

    Great as an inexpensive smartwatch.

I will start off by saying I have done a lot of research on the watches available at my store and had many conversations with the Samsung representatives before purchasing. As a smart watch, this is a great device. The screen is awesome, which at first I thought might be too big but after a day of wearing it I grew to really appreciate its size. All the notifications I can see, read, and respond to are a huge plus. The band material is also really nice. I was slightly worried about it because I do have sensitive skin and a lot of the other trackers are made of a material that have given friends a rash so I was sure they would have given me one. After a few workouts, I am happy to report that it doesn't. So, if you have sensitive skin this may work for you. I haven't experienced any of the problems with the band coming undone that other reviewers have noted, nor have I had an issue with battery life. I've had to charge only 3 times since purchasing and the watch only had 30% battery when opened. I also haven't extensively tried out the GPS so this could be a factor but I do receive many notifications. Now for the bad. As a fitness tracker, this really isn't the greatest. The sleep tracking is great. It even goes so far as to say when you are sleeping lightly, restlessly, or motionless and will track your heart rate every 10 minutes while sleeping if auto measure is turned on. During waking hours, if you are not still, the heart rate monitor will not track. I have also had issues with the watch auto tracking my activity, as in it hasn't. The first workout I did with the watch, after 10 minutes of realizing it wasn't tracking, I started the "other workout" exercise option. I chalked it up to only owning the device a few hours. When using this option, the tracker does not track your heart rate. There are around 10-15 exercise options to choose from and they are mainly cardio based workouts: running, walking, hiking, eliptical, cycling, step machine, exercise bike, treadmill, pilates, yoga, other workout, and a few move-specific workouts: crunches, lunges, and squats. So, there aren't many options to choose from. I did a P90x class tonight and it only registered "light" activity and did not track the class. I think it's safe to say most people know P90x is not a "light" activity. In fact, S Health said I was only active for 30 minutes today. Not accurate at all. I am heavily debating exchanging this item for the Polar A360, which other people I workout with have and love. From what I can tell, Polar has tons of options to select for tracking your workout. So this can be done, I wish this watch did it already. Then again Polar has been in this game longer than anyone. Because this item is primarily a fitness tracker, it only gets two stars. If you're looking for an inexpensive smart watch, this will definitely work for you. Spend $150 less than the Gear S2 for only a few less specs (mainly S Voice and Samsung Pay). If you have found a fix for the auto tracking, please comment and let me know!

    Love it more every day!

Pros: - Great motivator to keep active (reminders and progress shown) - Has vibrating alarms and alerts (strong enough to wake me up in the morning) - Keep track of water & caffeine intake - Get texts sent to phone with quick reply messages (edited from phone, and includes emojis) Cons: - Band easily becomes undone (easily avoided it falling off my wrist by using a temporary elastic band until I get a clasp, which I STRONGLY recommend) - Screen has some scratches already (I have a screen protector on order; I strongly suggest one) - Have to be close to phone for Bluetooth to work (don't expect to get alerts from your phone when working out if it's in the locker room) I bought this during a promotion after doing a lot of research about activity trackers and smart watches. I love how it automatically knows what activity I'm doing (recognizing kayaking as "rowing machine" or alerts me saying "great pace!" when I'm out for a walk or jog). It is really convenient to quick reply to messages or to answer/decline calls. It is very comfortable and I forget I'm wearing it most of the time. I just wish I got a screen protector right away because I have some tiny scratches that are bothering me. The battery life has been lasting about 2-3 days for me (I've had it for just over a week) since I limit my Bluetooth usage and avoid using the GPS and Wifi. When I'm working out at the gym I use the music I saved on the watch and Bluetooth earbuds; when I get an alert on the watch, it will say it out loud through my earbuds which I found very helpful. I strongly recommend this product, and I LOVE the colour!

Don't Purchase/Wear Without Extra Security Clasp

    Posted .

Received the Gear Fit2 when I purchased a S7 Edge a couple of weeks ago. Loved it but noticed that the clasp didn't feel secure. Returned to the store, only to be told that the clasp was fine and fit as it should. Just a few days later and the first time I used it while running, the band came off of my wrist. Didn't feel it come off (it's pretty light) so only noticed post-run when I looked down to check my results. Returned to track to look for the watch, no luck. Returned twice the following day, no luck. Best Buy is aware of the issues with this watch so I am unsure why they aren't alerting customers. Overall it's a great watch and there's a simple fix for the band, sold on Amazon. When I returned to the store and complained about the watch, it should have been exchanged vs assuring me that all was well. Would have saved me time, frustration and I would still own a Gear Fit 2. I was running, an activity that is expected with these types of devices. DO NOT purchase this watch and wear without getting the extra clasp for security. Save yourself the trouble. Best Buy refuses to assist me in this situation so I am hoping to prevent others from going through the same.

My Fit2 looks and fits good for a small wrist and functioned properly. Easy to use. My Fit2 fell off of my wrist without noticing and lost it. I recommend to replace the default wrist band. Some times I noticed the steps were counting even after the a long run.

I recently got a Samumg Gear Fit2 Watch and love it, I love how it tracks my steps when I am walking and it allows my phone to still connect to other bluetooth devices. The only problems I have with the watch is that it drains my phone battery exponentially. Other than that I love it and it fits very well

I love the fit. It has more options than my fitbit alta and people with Galaxy smartphones will be highly impressed with the compatibility. If you have power protection on your phone please cut it off so that you will be able to sync. I love all of the categories that I can track.

I have lost 105 lbs so far, tracking my exercise, sleep, steps and heart rate on this watch. See my review of the blue-colored version for details. My wife is using this black version, and though she didn't need to lose weight, it has really helped motivate her to exercise more and with higher quality. She finds the sleep tracking particularly helpful. We both LOVE this watch.

    Disappointed--poor battery life and inaccurate

    Posted .

Very disappointed--purchased two identical Gear Fit 2s for my daughter and me two weeks ago while they were on sale. I really want to love this product--it has a beautiful screen, personalization options, and is a great interface with my Samsung Galaxy S6 (messages and e-mails display perfectly and are easy to read, as opposed to another brand's product). However, now for the reasons this product is highly disappointing: 1. The floor counter is wildly inaccurate--on average, I climbed 167 floors every day last week--NOT! This morning, after going down and back up our flight of 14 stairs once, I received credit for 20 floors (even if the elevation difference is 9ft, it should have counted no more than 2 floors). I then did a factory reset and quickly received credit for 5 floors when I was on the same floor the whole time. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated problem--the Samsung and other fora are full of complaints with exactly the same problem, but there is no Samsung support or resolution on Samsung's own site. The watch has never gotten wet and we live in very low humidity, so the barometer should work perfectly out of the box. To make matters worse, my daughter's identical product works just fine. 2. Battery life is at best 2 days...and, I only run basic apps, only turn on Bluetooth when I intend to sync with the phone or exercise, always have Wi-Fi off, and even use "do not disturb" mode at night. With minimal use such as this, I should get at least 3 to 4 days of battery life. Bottom line, I am highly disappointed. Based on our personal experiences and numerous customer complaints, it appears there are defective Gear Fit 2s that impact the barometer and, therefore, floor count metrics. There is no acknowledgement or fix by Samsung. Battery life (at normal use) is very overstated, and I can't even get close using minimal features and turning off bluetooth, etc.

Good for fitness but not much else

Read reviews and failed to notice that NONE of the Gear Fit apps will run on the Gear Fit 2. Come to find out there are zero (0) apps for this available other than the few fitness things that come with it. Gear Fit has things like phone dialer, contact manager, calendar, calculator, camera remote, gallery viewer, flashlight, weather station, alarm clock, voice recorder, wallet, mouse, game console, reminder and more. Gear Fit 2 can play music and health monitor, that's it. And from reading the Samsung forums does not appear there's much interest in developing apps for it. Search around and you'll also find you can't even purchase a spare charger unless you buy it directly thru Samsung. There seems to be little interest in any new applications for this short of a bunch of watch faces. Also, it's water resistant, not water PROOF so don't wear this in the shower or swimming (or a heavy downpour). Would not recommend buying this and looking into what my options are to return it. If all you want is a fitness monitor then this would work, but if you want to do more with it like you can with just about every other fitness watch out there, then look elsewhere.

    Best of the Three

I've now tried three fitness trackers to sync with my Samsung Note 5. Of the three this one had the smoothest sync, easiest charge and best apps I've seen. If you own a Samsung phone, so far this is the best I've had to work with! Does everything I wanted in a Fitness tracker/Smart watch and that's all I can ask for. I should say that I'm not an athlete. Currently working on weightloss and easier exercise. I can track everything with this device.

A fitness tracker for avg Joe's, def not runners

I owned this for a week and a few days and found it to have some really strong pros but also an unforgivable con that made me ultimately return it. I like to run and hit the weight room roughly 5 times a week. I found this fitness tracker to be unreliable when it came time to gauge distance when I would run on the treadmill. I found it would be off by almost 1/4 of a mile every time, with no way to calibrate it. Running around the track, my mile was done in 6:30 but the watch said I had .12 miles left to run. That's a no go if you're looking for a gps watch. Also the floor climber tracker hardly worked. I would climb stairs in my house intentionally just to see if it was me but it only registeted 1 floor. Other reviews cite the same issue, but that stat is unimportant to me anyway. On a brighter note, wow that screen is beautiful. The curvature gives off a cool looking at it. The watch is IP68 waterproof in case you forget to take it off in the shower so no worries. The battery life is better than any Android Wear watch but the app ecosystem is definitely not. I found the sleeping tracker to be on point, just like my old Vivoactive HR. The watch did take a few minutes to start registering my steps in the morning when I first got out of bed. The watch should work great for 90% of users but if your intention is to mix your reliable gps watch with a hint of smartwatch fitness functions, this ain't it.

it had such potential but fell short

was selected by the insiders group to try out the gear fit 2 for a trail campaigner. I am coming from having a fit bit charge hr so I had a good idea of how a fitness watch was suppose to work. while the display is beautiful and the colors are vibrant and I love being able to fully see the test message on the watch , it is lacking in other areas. For one thing the band is so sensitive and comes apart easily which means you have to be really careful with it or it might fall off and who knows you could break the screen or worse loose the watch unknowingly . Secondly , it does not accurately record your steps. For example I took my daughter for an extended walk for a good 2 hours and she was in her stroller so my hands were up pushing it when I got back to the car and looked at the geatfit2 it said I had gone 25 steps more than it had recorded when I first arrived to the track. Thirdly, no mater what I do it will not record the floors of stairs I go up and down. My house is two stories so I climb the stairs and come back down at least 10-15 times a day. That to me is a problem; inaccurate recordings of exercise , daily steps, and stairs defeats the whole purpose of having the fitness tracker. So though it has a beautiful display its functionality is sub par and not worth the money.
