I received the Samsung Gearfit 2 to try out and review. I never thought it would work so well. I love the step counter and heart beat monitor. I like the added features that show email and calls coming in too.

No battery life, but broke at 4 months

I gave 1 star for the great graphics and connect ability. However compared to the two other brands of fitness watches I have had, one a smart watch and the other not, I was surprised that I had to charge the watch every night. Bad Battery Life - I tried every setting and screen I could to get a better battery life and decided I would just not be able to get a sleep recording because I had to charge it sometime. Durability - After 4 months and 11 days the thing just stopped turning on. Their warranty requires (after a 45 minute call) 48 BUSINESS hours to verify the S/N and 9-11 Business days to determine the issue AFTER I ship it to them. That is 13 business days or 3 weeks in real time. That is 1/4 of the time I have owned this watch. I would not recommend this hassle or this watch. There are much better options for the price out there. Functionality - can not really pick up on squats or cycling (often thinks driving on a dirt road in a truck is cycling) It does connect to my Samsung phone quite well but is a slower response time to other smart watches I own.

    Lasted a year

I bought this for its basic fitness tracker and notification abilities. It did what I wanted. I paired this with a Samsung S7 Edge so I'm sure I got the most out of it. The strap was never good but it worked for me until one day 8 months in it started giving me apple watch style "burns" on both my wrists. I started to make an effort to wash the band and that mostly took care of the issue but 2 weeks after the band broke. A replacement was easily bought on Amazon. A month after that, the glass on the heart rate sensor just decided to come off. I've managed to stick it back on so it's not scratching my wrist but it's no longer water resistant so I have to take it off to wash my hands. Also, it doesn't hold a charge the way it used to. When I first got it I could go about 2 and a half days, now it's about a day and a half. If I spent $50 to $70 bucks on this I'd be fine with it breaking after only a year of use, it would have lived out its life but not for $120. I liked the software and the heart rate monitor. But you could really feel the lack of care that went until actually designing it.

    Great watch but poor latch

I loved my pink gearfit 2 watch and last week I lost it. It had started to detach randomly and you sometimes can't notice it. I called samsung yesterday and they say they are not responsible and that I should have had my wrist tested. I did...and I did not have any problems when I purchased it. I read some reviews before I purchased but since it was new noone said anything about the straps. Now many have the same issue. I've read where people lost their watches, just like me. I even bought extra protection for it but it doesn't cover lost or stolen. So now I do not have a watch period. I am disappointed. Please do not purchase this watch until they can recognize the problem and fix it.

    Very disappointed

I had high hopes but have been disappointed from the start. It's comfortable to wear & has nice features. I enjoy getting my texts & email notifications. The HR monitor on treadmill was hit or miss, which was an important feature to me. Lastly, & most important, the battery life is horrible. After full night on charge, it lasted 4 hours until it alerted me of low battery. All I had done was drive to work & sit at my desk. Maybe this one is a lemon. IDK. I have read where others have good battery luck while others have bad. Although none as bad as my experience.

    Absolutely Awful

I wanted this to work, but after returning my first and trying a second, I have to believe this product is fundamentally flawed. The calculations are completely inaccurate (4mph for 1hr =/= 3miles), so what use is it as a fitness tracker? The battery is also one day at best, not nearly the 3-4 days Samsung says it should be. Do yourself a favor and avoid this product like the plague. But a Fitbit instead.

Phone cannot connect to Gear Fit2

    Posted .

Samsung software for Fit2 (Samsung Gear, Gear Fit2 plugin, and Samsung Accessory Service apps) has very limited compatibility with different phones. I am very disappointed that my android phone cannot connect to Gear Fit2. Now I can use my Fit2 only in standalone mode with limited functionality (no phone notifications, no Spotify control, no custom watch faces, no music playing from Fit2), which is not worth the price. I regret not buying Microsoft Band 2 instead.

    Good...but clasp is not secure

I got this watch as a gift, It was more than expect because I simply wanted a step counter. It has different features to use....however i did notice that clasp wouldn't secure tight. I was able to notice it twice but the 3rd time i was not lucky and it feel out of my hand, you cant really notice because it is so light.
