Not COmpatible with Tmobil Plans

Whats the point of stating that it's powered by Tmobil if it doesn't work with Tmobil plans? I purchased this phone and took it to a Tmobil store, only to find out it uses Tmobil towers but has to have a different plan.

Seemed so great at first
