Battery life major thumbs up! Tizen not so much...

This is my 4th smart watch I have owned and things are starting to finally mature. One of the first things I want to say is the battery life on this watch is far far superior to any other watch I have used which was one of my biggest problems when using a smart watch it's hard to get through one evening. That is not the case with this watch, you can actually go multiple days with normal use without the battery dying, a major improvement! Samsung has a very talented and creative design team. The ideas they create are some of the best in the world. PROS: - Smooth & Fast UI - Samsung Pay (paying with your watch is pretty cool) - Love the rotating dial which, so smooth - Build Quality of the watch - Seamless integration with GS7 edge - Amazing battery life - Charging dock micro usb w/ LED indicator which is great - Samsung very innovative (such as the rotating ring on the watch, excellent) CONS: - Runs Tizen - Certain features only work on Galaxy Phones - Samsung pay has two version, you have to redownload and setup all cards again, terrible - Stock band feels cheap - S-Voice - No always on display - Can't use anything in the standard app store including all faces in the market - Separate special Tizen versions must be developed and maintained separately - Mandatory pin code or you can't use Samsung Pay I don't think Tizen is a bad OS, but why do we need yet another platform? I'm not saying competition is a bad thing but an effort needs to be made to work together vs against each other. I don't want 4 places to download apps, I want one. Now app developers have to custom make versions just for Tizen which is a separate download which I'm not a fan of. I also do not like s-voice and while the speech recognization might work well on the watch, it's not on par with a non-Tizen watch. Stop putting R&D into something we don't need. Why not just use what is already in place? No separate app downloads. While you do have to enter a pin once (until you take the watch off again) it's super annoying. It's my watch, let me decide what I want my security settings to be. If you disable a pin, it wipes pay. Yes it's a great smart watch but running Tizen just makes it a proprietary thing to Samsung which I don't like proprietary things. The overlapping app downloads on the Samsung store is just a yucky experience. It's a great watch, great battery life, great design, the speaker sounds great and the rotating ring is great so if you are ok with Tizen and have a Galaxy phone already absolutely you should buy this, it's a great watch. Even know this watch blows my other smart watches out of the water for battery life, I dislike very much that everything must go through the Samsung app store vs the regular one meaning everything made for wear platform is not going to work.

This watch is amazing!! Best thing about this watch so far is Samsung pay. I was recently at the store about 10 miles from house selected my items went to the register and realized I had forgotten my wallet. Not a problem, I had set up Samsung pay a few days ago and was able to pay for items and save myself the embarrassment of having to leave my stuff. The battery life on this thing is also great. I come home and put it on its charger and has been on 80%-83%. My phone battery lasts me all day now because I'm texting and answering calls straight from my wrist. Everywhere I go especially work it always sparks up a conversation about all the awesome things I can do on it. 3 days into wearing it one of my coworkers was so impressed they went out and bought themselves one. My wife is also in the market for one as well. All the fitness apps is what caught her attention. I like the Samsung pay option and the uber app is one of my favorites as well. I definitely recommend this watch to anyone looking to purchase a smart watch. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. The watch looks like an expensive watch that I would normally wear and even one of my friends with an apple watch admitted to me having a better looking watch then what he had on his wrist.

I love tech and own all goggle and Samsung smartwatches released so far. I know that is overboard but I love to try each one and see how they grow over the years. take it from me when I say that Samsung has hit a home run with the gear s 3! It is beautifully crafted and just works fast and fluid. Samsung pay blows the competition a way and now you have it on you watch to. it works every time and everywhere! The best part is when you use it you just amaze everyone around and that is very enjoyable. The only bad part is the price. I truly believe that is the main reason why smartwatches have not been as popular as one would think. Not everyone is a tech junkie like myself and 350 is steep that is just reality. But if you are ready and willing to spend your hard earned money on a smartwatch this is the one you must have! Specs are top notch! The screen is the perfect size and beautiful it is water proof has Wi-Fi and a speaker and GPS. The battery charges very fast and last me a fully two days with always on screen and max brightness. The best part for me is I'm excited ever time I put it on my wrist and that is what it is all about! So give it a try I truly believe you will love it!

I have been using Samsung Gear S3 for few weeks already. Here are some things that I think stand out. Things I like about Samsung Gear S3: - Fast and responsive OS - Touch interface with ability to use scroll bazel - Very good battery life comparing to other products (typical usage over 24h would burn around 25% of the battery) - Great integration with Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and S7 – calls & phone notifications. - Ability to use your watch instead of credit card is just amazing - Build in standalone GPS for independent tracking Things I didn’t like so much: - Proprietary operating system – Tizen - Limited gear applications comparing to Android Wear - Annoying pin code for Samsung Pay. Overall it’s a great smart watch, packed with applications and great features from the moment you pair it with your Samsung cellphone. In my opinion it’s the best smart watch on the market now.

This is just an amazing product to have, great gift for the holidays. I just recently purchased one for myself and another for a Christmas present. Price keep competition with the Apple Watch 2 at a fair race, along with other new watches coming out this holiday season. I love the size of the watch on me, but the only down side is that it only comes in a 46mm which I was hoping Samsung would have added at least a 42mm option for those with smaller wrists. This is a wonderful new product for the Samsung family and cant wait to see what the future has in store.

    Stylish, competent smart watch

Being an iPhone user, I've never paid much attention to Samsung's smartwatches. However, when I found out they were now compatible with iPhone, I thought I'd give it a go. So far, it's worked really well with the iPhone. There are a few limitations--you don't have a list of stock responses that you can use to reply to texts, and you can't answer the phone directly on your watch, but otherwise, all other functionality appears to be there. I also have an Apple Watch. I like the interface on the Gear better. The scrolling bezel is ingenious, and I seem to have an easier time reading items on the Gear. The fitness aspects of the Gear are more robust than on the Apple Watch. Rather than on-demand heart rate, it periodically samples, giving you a clearer picture of your heart rate, especially resting heart rate. It also does a great job with sleep tracking. The biggest benefit of the Gear is the battery life. I can wear it three days without needing to charge. I did have a problem at first--I downloaded several watch faces, and even though I wasn't using them, for some reason they were draining my battery. I did some online research and read that others had this issue an remedied it by removing the watch faces. So I did the same, reset the watch, and have had good battery life since. Hopefully, Samsung will address this issue in the future. It's a little irritating not being able to download watch faces without exhausting the battery, but fortunately Samsung offers a good variety of faces already installed on the watch. The watch is comfortable to wear and sleep in--it's much lighter than it looks. However, it's quite large, so people with small wrists may find it to be a bit too much. Overall, I'm very impressed with this device.

I have been hesitant to purchase a smartwatch, but the Gear S3 has proven its value to me. There’s a lot to like about the Gear S3. With only a few minor quibbles, I would recommend this to anyone in the market for a smartwatch. What I have found I enjoy much more than I thought I would is the ability to change watch faces. Notifications have been the most valuable function on the watch for me. It’s nice to be able to get notifications on my wrist, even when my phone is not nearby. I’ve made and received a few calls on my Gear S3 and callers couldn’t tell I that I wasn’t on my phone. This allowed me to talk while keeping my hands free. Battery life has been great. I am consistently getting 3 days with my average usage. There are a lot of reasons to love the S3. There are a couple of negatives on the Gear S3, but the positives certainly outweigh them. For me, the negatives were the size and S Voice app. This is a fairly chunky watch. While this seems to be a current trend in watches, I find the size a bit too large for my medium-frame, male wrist. While it appears large, it's not heavy. I only notice its weight is during activities such as kickboxing. S Voice is simply not responsive enough. It is nice when it works, but it frequently is unable to understand or misunderstands my requests. While the Gear S3 is not perfect, I give it a solid 4/5 stars.

I've been hesitant to move away from my original Samsung Gear since one of the features I loved was the built in Camera. I took on the Gear 3 wondering if the look and features could outweigh the loss of being able to take pictures on the fly without having to pull out my phone. There was another feature that I enjoyed with my original Gear which was the sleep tracking. Looking around and testing I found that the Gear 3 no longer has the option to start and stop the sleep tracking manually. After a few nights I found that while it may not let you manually start and stop tracking, the watch itself does a pretty accurate job of determining when you go to sleep and when you wake up. After the first week I there was no question the Gear 3 blew my original Gear out of the water. Speaking of water, the first test was could this watch go with me wherever I go, do I need to hide it when it rains. Having an IP68, I didn't have to hide my watch when I was caught in the rain and didn't have to worry about forgetting that I had it on when I took a shower or wanted to jump in a pool. The 1.3" display not only offers a beautiful screen to look at and a classic watch feel but it gave me the ability to actually read a message and not just a small piece of the message. Not only was I able to now read full messages, but I was actually able to provide an actual response and not just a canned message. The ability to type, write, or even speak my response is amazing. Talking about ease of use, one feature any parent of young children would find useful is Samsung Pay. When you have your hands full and not able to put people or things down to pull out your wallet the ease of accessing Samsung Pay on the watch adds points to it's value. While not all stores have integrated the technology, enough have to make it worth it. Not to mention the WOW factor when people see you swipe your wrist over the reader and realize that you just paid your bill! I could go on about the performance. I could go into the ease of use between swiping and the turn dial. I could even talk about the health reminders to keep moving, tracking calories, water intake, etc. I could even go on about the stand alone functionality or the wireless charging. There is so much I could praise this watch but I think the best way would be for you to try it yourself.

I pre-ordered online and thank God i did! This is a very beautiful meets all expectations. I highly recommend purchasing one if asap if you can. These watches are in high demand and they sell out quick. Over seas i believed sold out in a week. I puchased this so i can go out in style to clubs, partys or hangouts. Looks luxorus and very expensive. I have a small wrist but i love the way it looks. I like gaint watches. I didnt want to puchase the LTE version just cause i dont like the way the frontier looks. Looks plastic and standard sports watch in my opinion.i have Gshocks for that. I still have the gear s which is my all time favorite watch. But cmon i puchased this classic just to have a watch and to have fun with, theres always next year mayb a gear s4. These watches get better and better by the year. I dont regret purchasing this item, got this for myself as a early Christmas gift. Im a Happy customer!!!! Thank you Samsung for an amazing product!
