This the best watch out there today!

This is by far the best wearable technology on the market today. I got this watch and instantly fell in love with it. The size and weight are perfect. Not too big, not too small. The face shows everything clear. I am really impressed with the battery life. I used this watch for 4 days straight and it still didn’t need a charge. I think the most use I got was 6 straight days. The pedometer is accurate. It keeps track of everything precisely. Even the heart rate monitor is accurate. One thing I really like about this watch is the notifications. I get all my FB, IG, email, and news notifications. This actually saved me the hassle of checking my phone all the time, which improved my cell phone battery life. If you are looking at this watch, BUY IT! You will love it.

    Fun to use

I have been using the Gear 3 Classic for a few weeks now. When the watch first arrived the watch band was very stiff and hard to get the watch on and off. Since I have the bluetooth version you need the phone around, but if you are connected to wi-fi it will send you your notifications and calls on your watch still. The watch was easy to set up and to customize for your own needs. While replying to texts on your watch would not be my first choice, it gives you 3 different options to enter texts responses. Unfortunately, if you reply to a group text only the person that sent the original text receives the response. Also, as a woman the watch i a bit bulky, but the weight is equivalent to a fancy dress watch I own so I really don't notice the weight. I will say my wrist does get a bit sweaty and sticky under the band which is annoying. I do enjoy tracking my steps and being told me to move if I have been idle for to long. I like to wear it to sleep to see mt sleep pattern, Overall this watch is fund to have on your wrist.

    Gear S3 Classic

The Samsung Gear S3 Classic is an amazing smartwatch. Just looking at the watch from a short distance, you would not even know that it was a Smart Watch. The notched bezel brings a touch of usability while adding class and style. The battery life on the bluetooth version tends to be well over 2 days from a complete charge. Applications such as Samsung Pay make this watch an extreme convenience. The mic and speakers give you the ability to make and receive phone calls, create text using voice, and pretty much anything that you can do with S Voice. This is one amazing watch!!

Hold off if upgrading from Gear S2

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Coming from a Gear S2 (Verizon/3G), this watch is more of an evolutionary upgrade than a revolutionary one. The Gear S3 Classic has a 5+ day battery life, Samsung Pay (both MST & NFC), and a bigger screen. Comparatively, the Gear S2 had only a 1-day battery life, Samsung Pay (only NFC), and a smaller screen. On paper, these sound like worthwhile upgrades. But to get these upgrades, you’ll have to accept the fact that this watch is bulky and slightly uncomfortable. Samsung did it’s best to make the watch look slimmer by blacking-out the lower half of the watch body. But there’s no hiding its bulk. It’s like moving up from a ladies’ watch size to a men’s ginormous “Fossil” type watch. And for those with smaller wrists, this can limit hand/wrist mobility. The only feature that makes the Gear S3 stand out is the Samsung Pay MST technology. In a nutshell, Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) mimics the signal that a magnetic stripe on a credit card sends to the credit card terminal when swiped. That means the MST-equipped watch can be used to pay for items in 90%+ credit card terminals in the US (except for gas pumps and ATM’s, where the reader is embedded too far into the machine). Compare that to NFC technology (which powers Apple Pay and Android Pay), which requires an NFC reader at the credit card terminal. A somewhat rarity, even today. Bottom line, there’s a few ways to look at this watch: 1) If you’re upgrading from another Gear watch and really want the Samsung Pay MST technology or you need a better battery life at any cost, consider upgrading to this watch. 2) If you’ve never had a smartwatch before but are looking to jump on the bandwagon, you can’t go wrong with a Gear S3 watch. But I’d recommend the Gear S3 Frontier, which offers cellular connectivity over the Bluetooth-only Gear S3 Classic. 3) If you’re coming from another smartwatch, you’re getting one of the best watches on the market with a far more functional and versatile platform than Android Wear and WatchOS. If you don’t fall into any of these categories, I would recommend waiting until October 2017 when the Gear S4 is rumored to be released.

It is really well built. Charges fast. I could see the battery lasting two days, I am playing with it more now because it is new and getting a full day with about 35% left when I put on charger. Did come across one bug that deals with S-Voice. The easy fix was to change the S Voice setting for language from Automatic to English US.

3 Weeks with the Gear S3 and Loving it ...

Three weeks in with the Samsung Gear S3 Classic and the longer I have had it the more I absolutely love it. The look of the Classic is just that classic with the silver casing and the leather band it is stylish and looks great. Setting up the S3 was quick and simple. Once you load the Samsung Gear app on your phone just turn on the watch and it automatically connects and walks you through the set-up. The S3 controls are simple and straightforward. The interface between the S3 and phone also allow you to further customize the S3 as well as access additional features of the S3. Gear S3 works great with S Health app on your phone and provides tracking of your activity from walking, running, heart rate monitored automatically to how long you sleep and the quality of your sleep. You can additionally enter meals and fluid intake into S health to further track your health goals. The Gear S3 not only collects activity data but also prompts you in encouraging ways to keep active and accomplish the goals you set. For those who don’t like carrying a wallet there is Samsung Pay. While I initially was hesitant in using this feature I decided to give it a try and find it very convenient. Just access the pay app on the S3 and select from the loaded cards and tap pay. Every time I use it the cashiers are amazed and impressed at how well it works and they always comment on how nice the watch looks as well. Overall the Samsung Gear 3 has been impressive both in the style and function. I would definitely recommend the S3 to anyone interested in purchasing a new or 1st time smartwatch.

FedEx guy left an hour ago. Setup was simple (turned it on and my phone asked me to pair), as was switching out the band. User interface is very straightforward (I did not open the manual). Look and feel are great. I had to re-register my credit cards with the watch to use Samsung Pay. Sound and vibration is good. I'm trying "always on" so I will see what that does to my battery life. I really only need it to last 1 day, so as long as it does that I'm good. Text messages and email are surprisingly easy to read of the face. Even though I paid the $50 geek tax (Samsung cut the price over the weekend, but who knows how long those people will wait to get their watch) I am really happy I pre-ordered and paid the expedited shipping (I would have paid for Saturday delivery if they had offered the choice, or they could have shipped it out Thursday night instead of Friday). Small nits, but I ain't complainin'. :)

I didn't even care for smartwatches until now. I took a chance on this because I wanted a more professional way to communicate with people. Since customers and bosses stare you down when they see you on your phone. Nobody will think twice if you are on your watch. The only two major gripes I have are the lack of apps for it and the S Voice is terrible. Other than that, it's very stylish, has great battery life, and is very functional.

    The Perfect Smartphone Substitute

My first impression was "wow"! I expected a boxy, manly style. I was surprisingly pleased that I was completely wrong! The Samsung Gear S3 is stylish and timeless, yet modern. To enhance the look, the watch faces are easily changed to fit your mood, whim, color coordination, etc. Also, the Gorilla glass covering on the watch face gives a reassurance that it is protected from the elements. In addition to the classy look, this watch is a great substitute for a smartphone. It is a high tech product that has the ability to access messages, notifications, emails, alarms, calendars, and so much more, in a smaller package. The convenience of security and discretion is tied together in this product. Finally, Samsung has made a hit with the fitness tracker and motivation ability of this watch. Steps, stairs, BPM, GPS, calories, are just a few options that are tracked on a daily basis. I am highly pleased that the battery lasts 3+days before re-charging. This is so much better than many fitness trackers available today! I will gladly continue using the Samsung Gear 3 smartwatch!

I had the gear fit prior to this and I really liked it. This watch blows it away. Love all the S Health reminders. Didn't really care for the original band so I got a metal one for it and I am very happy. Get a lot of comments on how nice it looks. It is a little large and takes some getting used to. I like that I can take calls right from my watch, my wife says the sound on a call on my watch is clearer that when I answer a call in my car on bluetooth. Love the 1000's of watch faces you can get. Seems like it will be very durable but I got the the 2 year Geek Squad protection just in case.I have not seen how long I can go before charging but when I charge it at night it is never below 85% battery remaining from a days use so I would say it could go at least 5-6 days before charging. Lots of great information about tips and use on You Tube. Highly recommended

The Samsung Gear S3 will look good on you whether you are going for a jog or a formal dinner party. The smooth rounded bezel and simple two button interface allows you to do everything from answering a phone call to recording your fitness routine. The detail and quality of the watch will impress even a true watch aficionado while providing easy access to technology normally associated with much larger devices. With a multitude of apps available to keep you online and connected, the Samsung Gear S3 Classic is as functional as it is stylish. With the ability to order an Uber while on a business trip, send that quick reply message to loved ones, or track your favorite exercise routine without distraction, the Gear S3 will give you the smartwatch experience you have always wanted and make you look good as well.

What can I say, I don't wear watches. I had the original gear s with the big rectangle face. I paid some awful amount for it to my cell provider. Unfortunately I only wore it a few times before it was delegated to a desk drawer. Too uncomfortable. Having had this Gear S3 now for a couple weeks the size is nice. Looking fantastic on my large wrists; the problem ahain is that it's just too tight. The band that came with it is the very comfortable so I've only been wearing it off and on. It's quite nice though to be able to answer a call with your phone in your pocket. Or the best feature of all in my opinion, the Samsung pay, I can leave my phone and wallet in the truck and still run into the store and make a purchase. That alone is worth wearing this watch.

My husband has been wearing the Gear S3 for a few weeks and I have to admit that I'm jealous. I probably would have taken it from him but it's too big for my wrist. In the time he's had it we've paired it with a Samsung Galaxy S5 and a Motorola Z Force. Both were easy to setup however the Motorola did require more downloads to make the S3 fully functional. The watch looks great on and is comfortable to wear. Since phones keep getting bigger it's great to be able to use the watch for calls, texts and emails. I also really like that you can use Samsung pay on the watch instead of getting out your wallet. My husband and I both would recommend the Gear S3. My only suggestion to Samsung is to make a smaller version for women.

Samsung Nailed It - Gear S3 Rocks!

I've always been curious about smartwatches and until I saw the Gear S3, I dismissed the lure of what they might do. The S3's screen size and look (which is like more like a watch than a Chiclet strapped to my wrist) pushed me over the edge to try it. Battery life is GREAT. No more grabbing phone, Phone calls sound quality are also off the charts (no one knows I'm not using the handset). Wish it was rated for more water exposure, but we can't have everything. It took a little while to figure out what different swipes do, but I've got most figured out.

    Great smart watch

Samsung Gear S3 Classic Review Construction – The watch body feels nice and weighty like any regular watch. The only major difference than a standard watch could be it is thicker than a normal watch except for oversized watches. The leather band supplied with the watch was thick and great quality leather. It is stiff to start but breaks in nicely for comfort. Display – The display is just as good as any Samsung phone with great definition which makes the watch faces loo great. The ability to view pictures and other content is very clear and detailed. Interface – Like any android phone, the ability to customize the widgets and arrangement allows for as much customization as wanted. Preloaded widgets are very useful and can easily add additional ones. Reading texts and emails is very easy and responding by writing characters is an easy to use and responding by speaking into mic quickly and correctly converts speech to text. Customizing the watch faces with other apps like Facer or Watchmaker allow for watch face customization from analog and digital designs to adding widgets directly on watch face. S Health – The watch works seamlessly with S Health to track fitness including steps, floors climbed, walking/running distance, etc. It also monitors and rates your sleep which was an unexpected function which helped improve my sleep which is not very good due to back injuries. The reminders for inactivity is nice for working at a desk job to move around and take a quick break from work which make me feel refreshed from a quick lap around the office or stretch. Final Thoughts – I was surprised as the Samsung Gear S3 was more capable than I thought smart watches were being using it. So far, I have come to read and discuss with people that have smart watches that the Samsung Gear S3 is one of, if not, the best wearable on the market today. I am extremely happy that I have this watch and that it was the one I choose due to the great quality and ease of use. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 which brings familiarity to the brand but this watch is very capable on its own and highly recommend it.

This is my first smart watch. I looked, looked and looked and went back and forth from Samsung and Apple. I finally got tired of caring this phone around with me and needed to count my steps. I took the plunge and glad I did. I absolutely love this watch. Still trying to learn it. Not a pro at this time but will be there soon. I'm a female, so the size is perfect for me. I need a girly band and a fancy face but I'm glad I joined the smart watch team. I actually got the last one yesterday at my best but store.

Looks sharp. Good resolution. Nice set of features. Useful. As with a lot of products today you get much more safety info than details on how to use. However, it is easy to setup and use. There's an online simulator that takes you through the steps of many common operations. Charging stand holds the device securely with a magnet. Works very well with the Samsung S7 smartphone that I purchased the week before.

    Excellent Watch

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I said excellent watch and that's what it is. Great free faces available and many features and the device looks like a watch not a mini phone on your wrist. So if you want a fancy watch this is as good as it gets. If you want something that's useful to count steps, floors etc, the watch is not for you. The watch cannot count floors accurately and it's a well known issue, counts steps better but not perfect, so for the athlete this is not a great device, go buy a fitbit. Weather is pretty good but I have never seen my watch update the weather/temp without my phone being connected to it, so it does not get much info via wifi. You also have to constantly reconnect the phone to the watch when the phone is out of range, it doesn't do it automatically like bluetooth in the car. Floor issue seems to be around the failure to constantly measure atmospheric pressure so that a 10-12 foot stair can be measured. My house can be anywhere between -32 feet to +187 feet in relation to sea level according to the watch when it is really 52 feet on the map. If you cannot get this right there is no chance you can measure the number of floors. This was an important thing for me and so very disappointing that it didn't work very well. Navigating all the features the watch offers is very easy and much better than the crown used on the iWatch. The outside bezel is accurate and easy to use. Free watch faces offer many features and the watch offers an "always on" feature and the battery life is impressive. I can get 2 days with an "always on" setting, so a weekend is easy to obtain. Charging takes about 2 hours but if you want the sleep app to be useful you can get top up charge for an hour in the morning. The sleep ap works really well. All in all a great watch but needs some features perfecting.

I've owned the Gear 2 and Gear S2. This is by far the best of the bunch, although I really miss the camera. I read the early reviews the complained of the S3 size. It is large to be sure. Not necessarily a watch for those seeking a petite addition to their collection. The navigation of applications and functionality remains top notch with the rotating bezel; very easy to use. The addition of an altimeter and humidity sensing function are quite interesting. The watch informed me of an upcoming rain storm in my area that I was unaware of. The health functions continue to be at the forefront. I can quickly and easily monitor many facets of my health and daily routine, as well as keep an accurate history. The available watch faces keep things interesting as you can change them often to suit your mood and to fit the atmosphere you'll be in. Receiving voice calls is fun and still gets many stares as people see me talking to my watch "Dick Tracy" style. I love having navigation right on the watch as I often hike, without my phone and just the watch. Except for the phone call functionality, everything else operates just fine on the watch alone. Charging is a snap with the wireless charger. Overall, I love this watch, as I do all Samsung products. They're simply better than those from Apple.
