This is my first smart watch and I couldn't be happier with it. Purchased it open box with a BB certificate and got a great deal. Pros: battery life is good apps are wonderful and the speaker/call feature is sweet. Cons: wish there were more app options and the fitness feature was more accurate like the fit bit. Overall very happy

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. His phone is a Galaxy S3 and it BARELY meets the Android requirements, but it works pretty well so far! It did stop syncing a few days into use, so he had to reset the watch (which meant he lost all of the apps he had on it, which was kind of annoying), but that error hasn't happened since then. He originally wasn't a fan of how large the watch is, but he quickly adapted and doesn't mind the size of it now. It's a little larger than my FitBit Blaze, but the screen is much nicer than what is on my FitBit (which I expected, considering my watch is geared more towards fitness). I have small wrists and we don't think it looks bad on my wrist, but if watch size is a concern for you I would check it out in store if possible before purchasing. If you have checked out the FitBit Blaze (or something comparable in size) and didn't like the size of it, then this watch is going to be too big for your liking. He was also concerned about the amount of storage available on the watch, since the operating system seems to take up a considerable amount of the storage space (he thinks it was a little over 1 GB in the operating system, so he was left with 1.4 GB of space to add in apps and such). He hasn't used all the storage space yet, but he's worried it may become an issue as the watch has software updates and as he uses it, especially since he plans to use it for quite a few years (I mean, we're talking about a man that is still using the Galaxy S3 phone). His favorite feature so far is the bezel for navigation. Many other watches use swipe navigation exclusively. He could use swipe if he wanted, but he much prefers using the bezel. Most of the other features that he likes are pretty standard features on smart phones, such as being able to reply to messages right from the watch. Overall, he's very happy with my purchase! SIDE NOTE: We both recommend purchasing a screen protector for this watch, regardless of whether you use the bezel or swipe to navigate.

Not just a fitband; it's a tablet for your wrist!

The Samsung Gear S3 is absolutely amazing! This "fitness band" can do so many things its actually fascinating! Truthfully I researched more fitness trackers than I can remember, and I remember reading a review someone wrote about their S3 gear, it was a great review like most of them were. However this one stood out because they said they couldn't explain how much this watch this little wrist watch changed their life, and all I could think is how could this stupid thing be that great... That is until I purchased one for myself, I can't believe I'm saying this but he was actually right. I never knew how bad of sleep I was getting, or how little active my days were until I saw it plain as day on my S3 gear app. Everytime I sit for too long it tells you to get up and do something, and my terrible sleep is a thing of the past it tells me how much sleep I've had for the whole night; for ex. I wake up several times every night and it calculates Everytime I fall asleep than wake up it stops and fall asleep again it counts more, until your up for the day and I'm always over 6 hours a day now. That is not even a fraction of what this thing can do the health benefits are amazing, but talk about making life easier: ever email, phone call text message any app you set to link up will appear right on your watch, and you can reply right from the watch. The best is talking into it, I carry a lot of things around, and it's hard to talk on the phone and carry heavy packages well not anymore; now I can talk and carry everything with no issue at all, and I can hear them, and they hear me perfectly, because the speakers in it are truly phenomenal! I can go on and on all day about the benefits and how great this amazing piece of technology is, but you won't know how great it actually is until you try it yourself. Take it from someone who knows, if you want to get healthier, feel better, and just live a better life or the other option if you're just extremely busy and need to make your life less complicated and a little easier I promise this is just for you!

The must have for android users. Spent a lot of time researching and went with this watch. Samsung is still updating this one even after the newer watch of theirs came out. Bought two around mothers day. For me a the wife. She doesn't care about tech as long as it works. But she loves it better than other devices she's tried. Also there is a lot of customization peices for this watch. So you can change things up every now and again. Or daily. Lot of options.

Did a lot of researching before making the purchase. Thought it was a lot of money for a watch since I had never owned a smart watch. Glad I made the purchase, I love it! I wear it all the time as well as sleeping. It tracks your sleep, tracks your fitness, notifies you of incoming emails and texts. Ability to answer text with short pre-entered responses or voice recognition. I was most surprised at the ability to make and receive phone calls. The quality is superb, crystal clear! Plays my music with controls on the watch. Links to your phone via blue tooth. There are some limitations but super happy with what it is able to do. I have since purchased 2 more watches for gifts. I am not an Apple fan but this watch works with Android and Apple.

    Samsung S3 Frontier

I also own a Samsung Gear S, which I purchased a number of years ago along with cellular service. Because of that experience, I had no expectations of purchasing another Samsung Smartwatch. The issue was the lack of available applications, and that anemic doesn't come close to describing the problem. Anyways, after placing an order for a LG Watch Sport but seeing the long delays in getting the Verizon version, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a Gear S3 Frontier. While the Samsung Gear app store is still extremely lacking, the Gear S3 is a wonderful smartwatch. It's a solid, beautiful watch. And Samsung Pay works great! I've been told a number of times that I can't use the watch to pay my bill, only to have the cashier freak out when it works. Funny stuff! Still, I'm very pleased with the S3 and - with fingers crossed - continue to keep an eye out for new, usable apps.

WORTH THE UPGRADE IN EVERY WAY

I owned the Gear S2 for a year before upgrading to this one, and believe me when I say it is worth the upgrade in every way. The S2 always felt too small, but this one is just the right size. The new bezel of the Fronteir is a real difference-maker as well and gives the watch a rugged, elegant, manly look. I've gotten more compliments on this watch in the last month than I did in the whole year I owned an S2. The other HUGE game-changer is the ability to make phone calls using the speaker phone on the watch. This really stood out as a drawback on the S2 in comparison to the Apple Watch, but now that it has this feature, I would take this watch over the Apple Watch any day. In fact, I've had several Apple users express their envy to me because they feel that their Apple watch looks "too much like a smart watch" while this one gives the illusion of being a classy, expensive watch with all the smart watch capabilities. I've found myself using the voice call feature more than I though I would, and it's really helped out a few times that I had my hands full and couldn't reach for my phone in my pocket. The rotating bezel is also a major selling point for the Gear watches over everything else. Exceptional battery life, lasts 2x as long as my S2. You can also buy other bands online, which I have done and switch out easily based on what I'm wearing. However, the black band it comes with is very nice. BUY THIS WATCH whether you own another smart watch or not. Guarantee it will become your new favorite. #longlivesamsung

Purchased for my son to track his activity and heart rate. He loves the ability to change the look of the watch face. The battery life is pretty good (4 - 5 days per charge) provided you turn off most of the alerts from your apps. My wife liked it so much we got her the S2 Classic (same features just more feminine)

This is the perfect companion to my phone. I use it mainly for health and fitness applications, but the watch itself is amazing. Downloading new watch faces actually downloads new watches. One day you can have a military style watch with chronograph and altimeter and the next day a classic Rolex style time piece.

This is a very high grade, durable watch that I wear nearly every day. Depending on use you will need to charge it every 1.5 - 4 days so mileage will vary but this is not a problem as it charges very fast on the included base. My favorite feature is the ability to answer phone calls/texts from the watch as my phone is charging. One downside that I've found with this watch is the lack of support with additional apps but the functionality that is included more than makes up for this small gripe.

I wanted to get this on Black Friday but the were all sold out. I ended up buying the sport instead. I really loved it but my heart was still set on the s3. A few days later I check the website and noticed 1 in inventory. I rushed to the store and it was there. I returned my gear sport (which btw is awesome as well) and picked up the frontier. This watch is everything and then some. If I had any gripe is that the same voice has a hard time recognizing unique names and at times won't find the contact I'm trying to call or text. I never was a watch person. Now everyday I don't leave home without it. It comes in handy and I love being able to answer my phone from my wrist . Kind of makes me feel like Dick Tracey.

I watched and read plenty of reviews prior to buying the gear S3. It's been a great watch as well as a communicator. Did not know you could take phone calls and speak through the watch, that was a nice find. I was urges to purchase it due to the inclusion of Samsung pay, which works even if you don't have a Samsung phone. So win win there. Battery life is pretty solid at 2 days with usage. The straps are interchangeable if you buy ones that are 22mm so you do have a lot of options when it comes to customizing looks. As for build quality, the frontier edition can take quite the hits without showing much damage. So that's a plus. Overall, i think anyone who gets the watch will be happy with their purchase.

This watch is awesome. I have purchased initially a Fenix 3, but it disapointed me terribly. I went to best buy and I got the Gear S3 and the moment I put it on my hand I was amazed. Strengths - you can used it as a cell phone, very good display, good looking watch, tracks workouts. Weaknesses - they could add ant+ capability, in the workout menu, they should add regular workout for gym purposes, make it a little bit more accurate for climbing stairs, they could put the HR sensor in the band as it could track much better as sometimes I want to wear the watch a little bit looser. Overall if you would like a much more stylish watch than apple go with S3. With this watch you get a lot of compliments.

This watch is AMAZING! Love the feel and brightness! I have heart issues and need it to act as a HR monitor like the polar watches but is is SLOW to get my heart rate! So very frustrating! Sometimes it takes a minute. Must wear the watch tight which is fine but it still is slow and behind my heart. It also does not work with any chest strap.. I was willing to wear a chest strap (which is a pain) because I liked the watch so much but since it was not performing as well in the HR area as I needed I returned it. so far if you want a HR watch the Polar M600 is best and far more accurate. Not as pretty and well made as the Gear 3. I was so disappointed to have to return it but until they either make a chest strap, make it comparable with a third party chest strap or update their led's to a minimum of 4 to get better readings I will just wait.
