Samsung Gear s3, excellent watch better than gear2, batt last longer and more features

Great screen and the watch itself has a nice weight and not too big. I really love Samsung Pay since I can use it virtually everywhere!!! The bezel is a convenient way to select apps and the battery life gives me a full 3 days of use without recharging. I highly recommend it!

I accidentally broke my S2, but luckily had the 2 year protection plan and was able to upgrade to the S3. It is a larger watch, but I have large hands and wrists so this isn't a problem. I love that I can answer calls from my watch and be heard clearly. The stair tracker is also great in addition to the steps tracker which was in the S2. The watch is still pretty new, but it is great for me.

The watch is great and I get a lot of compliments. It could use a few more everyday apps and work with non samsung based apps better. Works well for calls, emails, tasks, and calender use. It is heavier than most watches in the same category, but is not to overwhelming.

I've been looking for a smart watch that tracks activity (steps, workouts, GPS, sleep, etc.) but offers similar functionality that the Apple Watch offers. Having migrated from an iPhone 4S to an Android phone, I don't plan to go back to Apple anytime soon. I currently have a Samsung S8 and I finally got my money back from Microsoft for their botched Health Band. I couldn't be happier! The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier is a beautiful watch that gives me everything I could ask for and is durable (water and dust resistant), Although it runs on a Tizen OS, which means that I have to purchase any apps from Samsung store instead of Google Play, I really have all the functionality that I could want on a watch. I love Samsung Pay from my watch and I find it is accepted more places than Apple Pay is. BTW - I did get a glass screen protector and a couple of new bands - I recommend you do the same.

Got this for my husband and he absolutely prefers it to the iwatch he wasbusing before because it is sooooooo easy to use. Good battery life too. This wristwatch is rugged and the straps are also durable. Would definitely recommend this.

I'll admit I don't need a fancy smartwatch for everyday use. I wanted something that looked great and gave me simple notifications. This watch is perfect for me. I've gotten 3 days out of the battery which is by far better than some of the competition.

This watch is amazing!! It works well with my galaxy s8+. I love that I can receive calls from my watch and all the customization that you can do to it. There are many faces out there as well as bands you can get to make it unique. The battery life is great as well.

Didn't think I ever would want a smart watch but after having it for a month now I can't see myself going anywhere without it. The apps are limited but the basics are great (text, phone, email, etc.). The bazel is what makes this watch so easy to use. Instead of touching the screen for everything just turning the bazel gets you to most of what you need. The guerilla glass is great and the band while not fancy does the job. You can customize what apps yo want on the watch, which notifications you want on, do not disturb option, rings tones, etc. Everything you can modify on your phone you can do on the watch. The battery life is about 2days which is fine for me. The only thing is Google maps is not campatible with the watch but their are 3rd party work arounds. Also the watch face is big but is fine for me but for some with smaller wrists it could look off.

This was a nice try by Samsung but I am very disappointed and finally purchased a competing brand today on Black Friday. I bought the S3 Frontier for 2 reasons: fitness tracking and notifications for text, email and calendar. Activity and steps tracking is pretty good but heart rate monitoring is horrible, working 9 times out of 10 at best. I've tried all the tips including shaving the hair on my wrist but nothing works. Also, I climb about 10 to 12 flights of stairs per day and it rarely registers even one. The S3 has a mind of its own regarding notifications. Sometimes it shows them but more frequently it doesn't. And when it does notify me I normally have to turn the bezel and/or hit the back button to see the message. I have the latest updates and this issue has actually gotten worse over time. What I didn't buy the S3 for was credit card payments but I was glad to see that as a feature. Forget it! For most transactions I had to confirm the card on my phone making it easier to just pull my credit card out of my wallet instead of screwing with both the watch and phone while store clerks looked at me fumbling around. I said it was a nice try by Samsung because it's a fairly attractive watch and the watch face options are very good. But everything went south when I realized it doesn't deliver on it features and promises. What it does deliver is way more than the normal level of ads in its Gear and Health apps, another annoyance. Don't make the same mistake I did. Buy something other than a Samsung. BillD

I am having 5 smart watches. Apple watch (3rd Gen) Fossil (Gen-4), Firbit Versa and Latest one Samsung Gear S3. My rating is 4 as I compared Gear S3 with rest 3. The best one With my iPhone XR is Definitely Apple watch and the Best one with my Samsung S9 is the Gear S3. The Design of the watch is the best thing. Where as I found the touch screen is not as responsive as Apple one. Paired very well with My phone and the process is pretty easy as well. The activity tracking is very nice even better than Apple I felt. Looks nice on a wide wrist. Very macho look. Go for it if you have android phone. Not recommended for iPhone users as better options are available. PROS: 1. Excellent Styling. Looks Good for Heavy Wrist. 2. Activity tracking is superb 3. Easy to connect 4. Hold charge for a good amount of time (3-4 Days for me) 5. Charging Dock looks Classy 6. The Bezel is a very nice feature which make the accessibility lot easier CONS: 1. Will not look good for Ladies Wrist. Not feminine at all 2. Touch screen experience is OK but not the best 3. Not much choice of color (Dial mainly) 4. Little too expensive. Better to buy during thanks giving :-) 5. Still not sure if the typical Samsung touch screen issue will come after 1 year or not. If not then great.

This is a fantastic watch. This upgrade of the S3 from the S2 is like night and day literally to me. I love all the new features of this watch that has some of the same features as the S2, but the S3 give you a lot more. I love the charging system on the S3, which is a lot better upgrade from the charging system of the S2. The new design is unbelievable. I'm totally satisfied with this watch.

This is the fourth smartwatch I have owned over the last four years. I started with the pebble, then pebble steel, bought a used gear s2 a year ago and just purchased this one a month ago. While I have liked all of them before this one far outstrips my previous watches. Quality is superb with attractive styling functionality. While it does all of the typical functions (notifications) I like the exercise tracking and Samsung Pay. More often than not I now use the watch when I'm out if it is an option. Battery life is very good as it goes two days with light use between charges. If I use the GPS tracking a bike ride it does need to be charged at the end of the day though. Still not bad compared to others in its class. I don't count fitness trackers as they don't do most of the functions this will. I can't think of anything I have to complain about. Great watch.

I enjoyed using the Frontier watch while I had it. It was fast, easy to use, very easy to customze and batter lasted all day and more. I would have kept the watch but I was not a fan of the Note 8 so I went back to iPhone X and apple watch.
