Great Smartwatch, not so great fitness watch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this hoping to finally have an all in one watch I could just wear for everything. I love the smartwatch features of this watch. Samsung pay is amazing, even at card readers without NFC. I can't tell you how many cashiers I have shocked using the watch to pay for stuff. Aps are ok, watch faces are nice and the fact you can customize most of them is great. I have no problem reading this watch inside or out. (That was the problem I had with the Garmin watches. I couldn't read them unless I was outside or in bright light). Where this watch falls short is the fitness part. I lose distance whenever I go for a run because it doesn't lock GPS before it starts. Most times it takes about .2 of a mile to lock and start counting, sometimes longer. Other watches always locked before you started the timer. The heartrate monitor is all over the place as well. Somedays it works "ok", but others during a run it will drop down to 78 bpm for a minute or so in the middle of a workout. Oh, and speaking of workouts, you can't edit them to change the name, features, or stats. If I run 3 miles on the treadmill it tells me I ran 2.65. I should be able to adjust that. When I play hockey there isn't a choice for that, even though there is on the ap on my phone. If I use "other" to record playing hockey or basketball it DOES NOT RECORD HEART RATE! That was the last straw and the reason it is going back. If you just want a smartwatch for features and counting steps, this is GREAT. If you want actual fitness specs, avoid this watch.

Great Smartwatch!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got the watch as a Christmas present, been wearing it on a daily basis ever since. Don't have the LTE model, don't need it Bluetooth connection is great, making and answering calls is a breeze, sound quality is excellent. Love the selection of watch faces and that you can use standard watch bands, already changed rubber one for a metal one to dress it up a little.

I really wanted to give this a good review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Almost everything on this watch is great. I like the turning bezel, the use of the 2 buttons and the look of the watch. Some apps are pretty cool too, like the health app; it can tract steps, heart rate but also stairs climbed. It had it on while I slept to see if it monitored my sleep properly and it did and only went down 3% in battery lift. The battery has been great and lasting. I have a little grip with the apps. Not all the apps are as good as Android and Android Wear. A lot of the Samsung apps have poor ratings. My biggest complaint that is making this a 1 star review and is a HUGE deal breaker is the voice assistant. S Voice is the voice assistant and it is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I personally thing a smartwatch should be hands free friendly. If it wasn't, then why would I use it over my phone. Talk to text on this thing is the worst. I can't get over it. If I get a text and check my watch, I can only reply with the preset responses. But if I want to reply back with something else, I'll have to pull out my phone. What is the point of the watch then? I could have just checked my phone to read the text if I'm going to have to pull it out to respond anyway. If S Voice worked, then I could respond with a custom text message through the watch without have to pull out the phone (which is the way it should be). I've looked it up online and S Voice seems to have been a problem for a while now with no fix in sight. And for that, this has to go back.

Samsung Took 7 Months to Replace Mine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to love this watch when I first got it when it was released last year. The rotating bezel and the dark polished metal look is great. 3 full days of battery life too. But one day it just stopped turning on. I did everything I could to try to get it to come back. I called Samsung Support to get help and that's where the problems began. At first, they couldn't find the watch model number. They kept telling me I was reading the serial number wrong. Took them a day to reply back after a manager had to look it up because it apparently wasn't even in their support system??? So I send in my watch to their terrible repair center in Dallas, TX. They said theyd send a replacement because they couldn't repair it. What I got back? A gear fit 2??? $80 vs $350. They even put a note in saying that the gear fit 2 was a newer model and they didn't have any of my model available. That was 1) a like, and 2) a joke. So I sent it back after fighting with them on the phone for weeks. They said they'd send me back the correct model and that it was a mistake. When I sent this one back, it was sitting at their repair center without any movement for almost a month. I called and got in touch with a manager at the repair center who said she'd fix it and get me the right one. Two weeks later, I got a package. What was it? Another gear fit 2!!! I was livid by this point and told them I wanted my money back. Their executive relations people insisted I had "agreed" to this replacement. No I did not. So this had been going on about 3-4 months at this point. I requested a refund so I had to send them my receipt (twice, mind you). I finally got a call from a person in their "back office" who apologized. This was in mid December (it started in August). She said I'd need to send in my current model and they'd send me the correct one from their department. Well I did that same week. It's the middle of March now and I still don't have anything. Every single time I called, I would ask for a manager and I'd get a supervisor after basically begging their executive relations team. Each one of them promised me that they would be handling this now and apologized and said they'd contact me within 24 hours. NONE OF THEM ever did. This is what you are getting when you buy Samsung products. I told them I'd never buy another Samsung product ever again. I did just find out this week that something is finally being sent to me. Will it be a Gear S3 Frontier? Nobody knows...

Was expecting much more.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying I am a huge Samsung supporter and buy or recommend their products whenever possible, but this is one I can't. I recently replaced a Gear fit 2 with a Gear S3. I wasn't crazy over the Gear Fit 2 but for $130 it was acceptable. The S3 on the other hand I was very unpleased with. I bought it for activity tracking and it's smart watch features. As far as tracking activity this thing is so far off its ridiculous. After a simple 3 mile walk it would be a half mile off and that's with GPS on. I used this thing for two weeks straight and not once was it correct. Speed and distance where all off all the time. I reset the watch and it was still wrong so I returned it for a new one that is just as inaccurate. I've compared it with my phone and a Apple watch that are both accurate and it never comes close. When I walk inside between 4.5 and 4.7 MPH it always say I walked at 4.2 MPH. So as far as it being a smart watch it doesn't offer much. Music controls, notifications, phone calls over Bluetooth all worked well. That's about all you can do though because there is barely any app selection and what apps there are, are nothing special. This watch looks nice and has good battery life but that's about it. I don't understand how everyone rates it so well. It doesn't offer much, especially for $300. I will be returning it for something different.

Best Smartwatch on the Market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this smartwatch. I upgraded from a Fitbit Charge HR (which I had constant issues with) to the Samsung GearFit2 and finally the S3 Frontier. This watch blows all the others out of the water. It is durable, sleek and just gorgeous. I've gotten so many people ask my about it just from the look on my wrist!!

Very Nice Smartwatch, poor activity watch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In what I was thinking would be the perfect fitness smartwatch, unfortunately it fell short. I bought and used this for a month before giving up. The smart watch aspect of the watch was excellent! Easy to use, easy to navigate, and even the "phone" feature worked great as my callers said the call quality was very good. Just don't buy this for fitness. The biggest beef is with Samsung who won't let you share any information with other aps such as myfitnesspal, mapmyfitness, and others. Having years and years of data in those sites, I hated I was losing all the information. You have to use S Health which doesn't like to share. myfitnesspal really helps me stay in check so for these reasons alone I am going back to my Garmin. I also didn't like the fact I could not swim in my watch, and the rotating dial (although I loved its function and design) felt cheap. It would rattle and if you tapped on it felt like plastic. The screen was amazing, watch faces were ok although most of the ones I liked I had to buy, and if you wanted to use a GPS workout such as bike riding, hiking, or running then you were not going to get more than 1 day out of the watch in battery life. As compared to my Garmin Fenix 3 HR where I get 5 or 6. Great watch if you just want the gadget, but don't bank on it for fitness. Even the heart rate was hit or miss, a lot. I did love the ease of changing out the bands.

Reliable and Useful Everyday
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved the size, battery life, and look of this watch when I was using it. I eventually got the new Galaxy Watch, but I sold this to a friend who is getting a large amount of use out of this everyday still!

Best of it's class!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this watch for a week so far and I have been amazed by how the technology has become better in order to limit actual time relying on a phone. I enjoy that the watch carries it's own wi-fi when not connected to your phone, you can listen to music w/o having to have your phone with you on iconX blue tooth headphones, the screen is amazing (best of it's kind), water resistant, responsive, tracks your fitness quite well (better than anything I've used thus far (nike fuel band, fit bits, etc.), and most of all, it actually tells you the time! This device has created a break away from requiring you to have to look at your phone, which I love my Galaxy s7 edge, but if I can enjoy just as many features on a smaller device that's attached to my wrist, why not!? I also enjoy being able to send full texts and answer or make calls from the s3. Keep the best coming Samsung, you've got this!

Good device, terrible software
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Gear S3 was a decent purchase, however I'm returning it. In my opinion, Tizen, the OS that runs the Gear S3 just isn't matured enough to be a great option. After purchasing my wife a Huawei Watch, which runs Android Wear 2.0, it really makes the Gear lineup and their Tizen OS very inferior. However let's talk about the actual watch itself. It has a solid construction and the battery lasts all day on a single charge under heavy usage (can't say the same for my Pixel). You can text from it, although don't get your hopes up with S Voice, better get used to T9 again, as it does not have a full qwerty keyboard like AW 2.0. It lags and half the time doesn't pick up what I'm saying. This was my first dive into wearable tech and I should've stuck to my instincts and got an Android Wear device over the Samsung options. If you want a watch you can text from, looks like a watch, set alarms/reminders, view your calendar, and avid S Health user it really isn't a bad device. Hoped I helped you in your decision.

Great Smartwatch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this watch. Had an apple watch before and while it was nice it did not look like a watch. This looks like a quality time piece and is very well built. Samsung Pay is a great feature and allows you to pay with your watch almost anywhere.

Search for a smartwatch ends here!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Size✔️ looks✔️ weight✔️ I don't even know where to honestly start. This watch is the best smartwatch out there! If you want a smart watch that looks like a real watch look no further! I've had my watch for about 5+ weeks now and I treat it like a Rolex! Everytime someone askes me what what I have they get amazed that it's a samsung watch. I already convinced 2 of my cousins to buy one, they actually convinced themselves. Everything about it is awesome! The buttons are smooth and I've never experienced any lag, the color is very nice. I love the combination of gunmetal black with brushed steel. The only thing I'm scared of is scratching it, the front face has a weird coating that scratches easily if you're not careful with it, but when you wipe it the scratches go away it's weird and I love it!

Best Smartwatch!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been wearing this watch for 2 weeks so far and this is an amazing device. This is my first smartwatch and definitely there is a wow factor. Flawless and long lived battery (at least 4 days last long). Buy it and experience it.

Best watch looking smartwatch out there
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research on smartwatches before going with this one. I ended up picking the frontier S3 because of the design. It looked the most like a real watch and I've gotten several compliments from strangers on it. Especially so if you swap out the watch band, which is super easy to do! In terms of bells and whistles, it has it all: waterproofing, wifi, bluetooth, cell service, etc, etc. I also like the interface using the rotating bezel. The biggest detractor for this watch however, is the app ecosystem. I just wish there would be more app developers making quality apps for this watch, but I guess it's hard to do when Samsung decides they are going to go with their own OS instead of Android Wear. Other than that though, love this watch!

Outstanding!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from an Android Wear 1.5 watch which was great, Samsung has hit it out of the park. Looks and feels like a 'real' watch yet is super-powered. Watch faces are extremely well done, animations are smooth where they need to be and replicate a mechanical watch where they need to. Watch face shading changes with wrist movement, etc. UI is intuitive and the click wheel is excellent. Pairing with phone is great, Samsung Pay on the wrist is so much better than on the phone for ease of use at the Point of Sale, and this watch is all around an excellent experience. Well worth it. High regard for what Samsung has done.

Great Smart Watch!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great smart watch. I've owned numerous fitness watches, including the very expensive Garmin fenex (costs $500-600), and this Gear 3 is far superior in function, versatility, and screen visibility. And I love how big and solid it is. I've always owned large Rolex watches, and like a good sized and engineered watch. This thing is also very fast processing data and moving from one screen to the next. Great watch, and fun to use!

Best smartwatch out there
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love samsung!!!! I am coming from the gear s2 and didnt think that a smart watch can get any better that that, but you guys proved me wrong. I love how light the watch feels on your arm. The frontier also gives the watch a fun sporty look. I love that it tracks my steps and how many floors I walk up. The speaker on the watch is so cool and makes me feel like inspector gadget when I answer calls on it. Another thing i love is being able to text back and forth right on my watch. The only thing I do not like is that it is slightly manly for a womans watch.
