With an extremely weak collection of apps and unreliable fitness tracking, this does not deserve a premium price tag. It looks great and the interface is smooth, but I was looking for a smart watch. Which means being flexible enough to accommodate productivity, entertainment, and fitness tracking. I made my own watch faces using their PC app and even started with Tizen Studio to program my own apps to fill in the gapping holes in app selection. Just to make this a truly smart device. Then I realized that I paid $350 for a fully functional device. Not a hobbyist's toy.

Good watch holding up well very heavy duty watch and worth it

Solid built watch with all the features you'll ever need. Step up from the S2 as the larger face is more of a man's man watch. The app store could use a little upgrade in its variety of options. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

I've had all the Samsung gears but this is the best by far and i can pay with this anywhere. If your debating the price just get it trust me.

I bought this watch yesterday, around 2pm. By today, the heart rate monitor was not working. The step counter, not working. The exercise tracker, not working. Me twisting my wrist, so that it automatically turns on, so I can see it, not working. Seriously, this is ridiculous. I paid 275~, plus tax, plus the 2 year warranty, plus tax.... worthless. This was a fantastic idea, and I even waited over a year before purchasing one. (mostly because I didn't know about it) Most of these sort of issues are dealt with within the first few months, and even up to a year of being released. How exactly does this not work THIS far into the release? I will be going back up there tomorrow, and attempting to get another one, but if that one doesn't work, it's going to be returned. If the other one works, I'll change this review, but my taste of this watch so far is absolutely bitter, and I'm out over 350$, for a lemon.

I purchased the Samsung Gear S3 and after working to solve a voice command issue, I have found that the problem is wide spread. The voice to text feature does not work in English (US). If you attempt to send a text using the voice function in the contacts listing, you will get an Voice input fail message. After reading on the internet you can get limited functionality by using English (UK). Most say it is spotty at best with that setting. The other functions of the Watch seem to be okay. This is just another let down by Samsung. If you are like me and would be using the Voice to text feature a lot now is not the time for this watch. I hope that Samsung will get this fixed but I will be returning the watch. This issue has been on going for about 2 months from everything I read. I am selecting No I would not recommend this to a friend because of the Voice to text issue which I used a lot with my I-watch. I would like to be clear this is not S voice, it is the voice input within Text messaging

Nice idea on the watch but battery life is incredibly short and charging is a little weird. Sometimes I can leave it in the charger and come back in a few hours and see the green light and 100% charged, Other times, the watch has discharged even more. I usually get about 36 hours per charge, sometimes a little more sometimes less. The stopwatch app usually works but rain drops hitting the face can start it or turn it off, same with a shower. The heart rate monitor gets confused if your wrist gets sweaty, as in a workout. A lot of money for something that doesn't work very well.

Slick sharp and great am loving my watch it was a great buy. I would tell any our ever one to buy one fast

This smartwatch is great, you can use it as a phone, control music, browse the internet, and the s health app is great.

The best smart watch ever. This watch is helpful in every possible way. Its the best investment to my digital life.

This is the best smartwatch out there...looks... fit... ..payments...functions...connectivity...EXCEPT if you plan on using it for fitness with the GPS... Most runs, hikes, bike, etc. is always off by sometimes up to a mile+.... Messes your pace, cadence, etc. This is true when you use the watches built in GPS... Read the internet...wide spread comments and issues with this...People have sent in for service / swapped devices, etc. no luck..If you want a great smartwatch this is it...if you want to use it for fitness too look elsewhere

It's even better than I expected. I can't believe all the features. It's the best smart watch out there.

Looked at many smart watches before I bought this one and I am very happy with my purchase

Bought this watch about a year and a half ago and it was working as advertised. I used it to track my runs which consisted of running about 3 miles, 4 or 5 times a week. Last week the LCD stopped working. Sent the watch in for repair and the repair center said that the damage was from water seeping inside the watch. This watch has never been submerged and barely even been in the rain. So, for a watch that is advertised as a sports activity watch I was surprised that sweat could cause it to fail. So I called Samsung and was escalated as far as I could go and they would not do anything for me other that offer a discount of $35% off of the repair cost which was $241 which is more that I would have to pay to get a new watch on the internet. If you are truly interested in a sports watch that you don't have to worry about sweat killing, then I would look somewhere else. Not what I expected when I purchased it and spent nearly $300.

Super customizable, just a great watch.it can do just about everything.

I bought this watch as a gift and the AMOLED display is great. The downfall is that this is nothing more than the next Apple Watch. Compatibility with Android apps is non-existent because of their Tizon OS. If you want a watch that is not customizable and you use nothing but the default Samsung apps, this is the watch for you. You can't use any other messaging app because if it even notifies you (which it doesn't) you can access the message, but you can't reply on the watch. Everything prompts you to "Check Your Phone". No Android pay available, only Samsung pay. Watch faces are limited and few, if any, are free. Samsung is turning into the next Apple in that it is only compatible with itself and it's own apps and no others. Customization is limited and almost non-existent. Answering the phone is about the only thing that works well on this watch. If you have something other than a Samsung phone, definitely stay away from this. They are becoming too proprietary, which goes against anything Android. If you still buy this watch, good luck doing what you want, except using Samsung apps. Unless they come up with something to fix this issue, I'm staying away from anything Samsung.

Just got off the phone with Samsung. If you don't own a Samsung phone then MANY features may not be available to you. There are no texting OR email apps available on my watch. I do not have an iPhone or a Samsung phone. My father didn't either and he returned his Galaxy watch quickly. I'm thinking of returning my S3 Frontier. I had it hooked up to a Note 4 and it worked pretty well, but I decided to swap to a faster phone and it is now far less beneficial to me. No texting or email apps are available. I also can't change the weather app to Fahrenheit. So it's a bummer without a Samsung phone. It does not assist me with communication unless it's a phone call. Bummer I tell ya! I would only buy if you have a Samsung Phone. Otherwise it's pretty much only a timepiece. **** If you do not have a Samsung Phone, watch faces similar to MD153 can give you some texting functionality. You should be also able to send a text from CONTACTS but if you send and receive lots of texts, I would pass on this device without a Samsung Phone.
