I am writing this review because I have been given the opportunity to try the Gear S3 in return for my honest opinion and I count on other reviewers for my online purchases. In my opinion, the Gear S3 is the best smartwatch out there. In truth, I have owned all the Samsung Gear smartwatches (i.e. the Gear, Gear 2, Gear S, Gear S2, and now the Gear S3). I have also owned the LG Urbane 2, the Moto 360 Sport, and the Huawei Stainless. As you can see, I have been in search of the perfect smartwatch. My favorites of these watches have been the Gear S and the LG Urbane 2, but nothing compares to the Gear S3. The Gear S3 comes closer to being the ideal smartwatch than anything else I have owned. Although I am not a fitness fanatic, I am fitness conscious. I am pleased that out of the box, the Gear S3 keeps track of calories, steps taken, activity levels, heartbeats per minute, and stairs climbed. The Gear S3 Frontier has a built-in barometer, altimeter and GPS. I recognized that these features could be lifesaving for those who hike in the wilderness where there is no cell coverage, but I did not think I would use those features. However, I was quite surprised when going on my afternoon walk. I start these walks by climbing a very steep hill to raise my heart rate. The Gear S3 uses the altimeter in a clever manner; when climbing the hill, I received the message “The Gear S3 counts every 10 feet in elevation” as a flight of stairs! I found this feature useful as my daily routine consists of climbing 16 flights of stairs. With the Gear S3, I could see that with the hills in my walk, I have been climbing the equivalent 29 flights of stairs! The things that I like the most about the Gear S3 is the readability of the screen, the battery life (which after a day of high usage still shows more than 60% charge remaining), and the usefulness of the rotating bezel to navigate through its apps and features. I am also quite pleased with the fact that the watch is now able to function seamlessly with any Android device. The first iterations of Samsung’s smartwatches required a Samsung phone. That was fine with me as I have also owned every Galaxy S and Galaxy Note made. I also owned the Galaxy Note 7. As other Note 7 owners can attest, this was a fantastic phone, but it was recalled. I already had the Galaxy S7 Edge, and refused to go back to the phone after having its successor. I opted to purchase the LG V20 (which although I feel the Note 7 was clearly superior, is a great phone). This is when I purchased the LG Urbane 2 to match my phone. Don’t get me wrong, the Urbane 2 is a great smartwatch, but nothing has been as intuitive as the Gear S3. I was pleased to see that Samsung had gotten smart and ensured that their smartwatches worked with every other Android device. They started this trend with the Gear S2 and refined it with the Gear S3. I feel there is one glaring shortcoming; the lack of apps. The Gear S3 runs the Tizen operating system and lacks the apps that can be found for Android watches. I find the lack of apps, games, and other options concerning. There is almost nothing made for the Gear S3 other than watch faces. This either needs to be corrected, or Samsung should switch back to an Android operating system. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with Gear S3. I find that it suits my lifestyle and my opinion of a smartwatch perfectly. I truly must give the Gear S3 five stars. It has earned and deserves it.

The Samsung watch I bought from bestbuy shop works just fine for me, though it is a open box it works as it should.

I had an Apple Watch series 3 before, and I broke the screen so I decided to buy the Gear 3 because I like the rugged feel of it. But now that I got it, I hate it. The GPS is crap compared to to the Apple’s GPS. I usually run around the same park and I know exactly my timing and speed, so it was strange how suddenly it would take more time to run the same distance. Then at the end of my run I would see on a map how according to the G3 I was running all over the place but not the track. I notice that some times is more or less acurate but some times I even have to turn it on an off so it can measure right. The applications are also horrible, and being a runner, I was happy to see that Strava was included, and it worked fine for around a month and then it stopped synchronizing with my phone. Since then I have not been able to save my running history. I really wanted to like this watch but now I feel tempted to sell it and buy back another Apple Watch. Other than the fact that the watch looks nice and the battery last long, I don’t see anything else good on it.
