    Best fitness tracker yet

This is by far the best fitness tracker yet! Much more accurate than the fitbit ionic. I love how much you can customize this watch! The talk to text feature is awesome and the Google voice works great! Seems like I find something fun and new on this watch everyday. The only thing I don't like is, it seems like it is not compatible with as many apps as the fitbit is. I paid for a really great app to track meals and weight, the fitbit connected to it, this one does not. I have to manually put stuff in, which is a little time consuming. If this connected to my other app that I love to use, it def would have had 5 stars!

Highly disappointed with Gear Sport Watch

We had the Samsung Gear Sport watch for nearly five months before the screen went out and refused to charge. I sent the watch in for repairs and it was denied for what they claim to be water damage. This was a surprise to us as the Gear Sport watch is water resistant. According to their website, the Gear Sport has a water-resistant rating of 5ATM or 50 meters. They even have a picture of someone swimming with the watch! The only time my wife got the watch wet was while playing with the baby in the kiddie pool. Certainly not an activity that would be too stressful or exceed the watch's capabilities. I explained this during a follow-up phone call and was told to send the watch back and Samsung would repair it. A few days later I was told again Samsung will not repair the watch for water damage. The Samsung Gear Sport watch should have been able to withstand some light water use. Very disappointing!

I have the IPhone X and I do not like the Apple Watch so I wanted to find something compatible to use. I went through 5 watches and this one is by far the BEST! It works great with my iPhone I am able to use all of the features it has to offer and I am extremely happy! My heart rate is spot on, I went to my dr and the heart rate they showed was the exact same as my watch.

    The GD with iPhone

This was a gift for my husband, he liked the watch but not fully loved. It’s very nice looking, good size. They only thing this didn’t make it a 5star it’s because plain and simple, we are iPhone users soooo...you obviously can’t text back on this watch. You can do all functions but text, answer phone calls or listen to music. Other than that he still enjoys it.

I bought this today as a gift for my sister. Everything was fine until we tried to reply to a text by voice. "Voice input failed" We tried settings, we reset the watch - same problem. Called Samsung and the people were very unhelpful and didn't seem to know what they were doing. It's not just me.. after googling the error message I found a Samsung help forum with 26 pages of people all saying they had the same problem. Some said voice worked fine until an update. These posts were from April 2017 so I'm guessing my watch was shipped with the new firmware installed. Very disappointing since voice command would be the most important feature for us. I'm honestly not sure why this device has such high reviews. Will be returning tomorrow.

I really think if someone wants to track his workout it's a great accessory to have. I especially need it when I'm getting a new notification while working in the lab and I can't use my hands to pick my phone up

Awesome watch, but had sensor problems.

I LOVED this watch. It's stylish and has a ton of great features. It's quite heavy compared to the other smart watches I've owned but that gave it a feel of quality. My favorite feature was the ability to make custom watch faces using the Facer app. Unfortunately the heart rate sensor stopped working after 9 months and I primarily wanted it for tracking workouts. Luckily I got the insurance for it so I was able to get store credit and go with a different watch. Assuming the heart rate sensor works like it does for most people, this watch is great. I think I just got a random bad one.

Great until they ungraded tizen, now useless

Bought this watch in May and it was great until they updated it to Tizen ver 4. Prior to the upgrade I would get ~2 days of battery life using multiple apps and getting plenty of notifications with Bluetooth enabled and wifi set to auto, following the sw upgrade I couldn't get through a day, not even close. Using it in powersave mode bought me nothing in battery savings. This is a widely A watch that only lasts hours to me is useless. I'll be purchasing another non Samsung watch while this one sits mockingly on my dresser. This is a widely reported issue for multiple Samsung watch models. Here are some links reporting the issue: https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Gear-and-Gear-Fit/Gear-S3-Classic-Sudden-Battery-Drain/m-p/620709#M21685 https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Gear-and-Gear-Fit/Gear-S3-Classic-Battery-Drain-since-5-20-19-update/m-p/725976#M25591 Sooo I sent it in for warranty repair after having it for two months and below is my feed back to Samsung regarding my Customer Service Experience with them: Your CS could not be worse. All I got was repeated apologies and with no resolution. I sent in my watch 10 days ago for repair for terrible battery life after 2 months of use. I reached out to your chat support after 9 days and was told to call customer service to get status on the repair. When I called CS, I was told that the watch was being shipped back unrepaired because it was an international watch not American. I stated that was impossible as I was on the Samsung website looking at my registered product where it clearly stated that the watch was under support until 2020. This was met with repeated apologies and script like responses repeating that it was being sent back unrepaired because it was international. After much back and forth the rep looked at the SN on my watch as well as the SN of the watch in the ticket and disclosed they had the wrong SN in my ticket and that my watch was indeed under warranty but was still being sent back. They took my number and said they would call back in 3 minutes because the line was bad. Never happened. I called back after an hour and went through the same dance with the CS rep who took the second call. Again, I was told they had all my information and they would call me right back after reaching out to the service center. Again, never happened. I called a third time and had the pleasure of going through all the back and forth that I had been through twice before. This time I was finally put through to a supervisor who I got to explain the issue to for a 4th time. Aside from apologies, his solution was to wait for the watch to be returned and then send it back and start all this nonsense over. Sooooo, by the time I get it back it will be 2 weeks that Samsung had it and did nothing with it. Now, assuming I actually get my original watch back(which is no guarantee as they already have it associated with a different international product) and I start the process over, it will be another 2 weeks combining for a month to repair a problem that occurred after using the watch for weeks. This all assumes that the Samsung repair team suddenly becomes competent which is far from a given. The other option the sup gave me was to take my watch to a walk in repair center 2.5 hours away, so 5 hours round trip. That's insane!! What any reasonable Customer Service center would have done is offer apologies and provide an RMA for a replacement watch. You have lost a customer and I will be posting this on every review site I can find hopefully resulting in others not buying your products. I doubt Samsung cares but you do what you can do.

The Gear Sport miscounts steps and miscalculates calories burned. It is not accurate at all. This product is a disappointment. If you're looking for a great fitness tracker then this device isn't for you.

I could write a novel on why this smartwatch is so bad, but ill keep it short. This watch is beyond terrible from the subpar battery life to the inaccurate heart rate. 1. The battery doesn't last through the day. I close apps but it still dies on me at night 2. For a "sport watch" it really does fall short. The heart rate is spiky and wrong. The GPS data is inaccurate. 3. During workouts, the screen will go black and I cannot get it to come back on. That's beyond frustrating. 4. Floors climbed, calories burned are inaccurate. 5. If you nought this for spotify you will be disappointed. It does not allow you to "shuffle" the music. Headphone controls also do not work. Also, this watch lacks apps which is a real bummer.

Do not buy if you sweat!!!

I owned this watch for approximately 4 months when the bezel stopped working. I sent it to Samsung for repair, and they refused to repair it because of liquid damage. This watch was never worn in the ocean, pool, shower, etc. I do sweat a lot and the only conclusion I can reach is it was from sweating. They refused to repair under the warranty, even though the watch comes with a 1 year warranty and is supposedly water resistant to 5M. One of the selling points on the Samsung site is the ability to use for swim tracking and has a picture of a swimmer with the watch submerged! I am terribly disappointed in the response from Samsung support and will never purchase another Samsung product.

I bought this over a month ago so I have had time to try and overcome the flaws. Well that must not be enough time. The major issues are this is not a good fitness watch. The tracking is off in almost every aspect from inaccurate steps to almost none existent floor counting. Just to prove my point I just climbed 15 floors yes 15 floors and my watch registers 2. Just Google floor counter for this watch if you need more reviews. Forget soon biking it gets confused. It even gave me a 20 minute bike exercise when I DROVE home from work the other day. It is fun to change the clock face to all sorts of faces, but I bought this in hopes it would work as a fitness smart watch. The fitness part is a joke.

    So So at Best

After 15 months of owning this smart watch, I can conclude the following; 1) the step tracker is not accurate 2) with every update something breaks and have to wait for another update to fix the issue. 3) lots of the so called features don't work all the time. very hit and miss. 4) sleep tracker is so so On the positive side; 1) like that its round and looks like a watch. 2) like that I can have a traditional watch face, and not be stuck with something that looks like it belongs on a kids wrist. Would only recommend and only barely if you own a Samsung phone. try it with any other android or apple device and it's not worth it at all.

I love my watch. But wish i had gotten the warranty. It is paired to my Galaxy S9+ and since the last update on the phone, it keeps disconnecting from my phone. It is frustrating because I depend on it for incoming calls. Anyone else have this issue?

    Disappointed - Poor tracking

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I got the Gear Sport because I wanted a GPS sports watch and have a Samsung phone and the Best Buy rep said it was great. I probably should have gotten a Garmin. GPS tracking is really bad. Loses location in the middle of my workouts so I have no idea how far I went or fast. Sometimes the location can't be found at all :( . My screen goes black and won't come back on until I restart it. Some product descriptions stated it tracks open water swimming, but it doesn't (I feel misled on that). The Speedo On App is broken and their support can't help me log in. The other smart watch features are fine and probably better than Garmins, but that's not why I got the watch. I'm sending it in for repairs and if they can fix, I'll revise my review, but at this point, I'd say get a Garmin if you want a true Sports Watch.

I purchased this watch August of 2018 and after a year and three months the watch was in reboot status then it died I fully charged it the screen displayed 100% but when pressing the main button to turn it on it did not work even pressed both buttons still did not turn on, so that was a waste of 279.99 it's like money down the drain I really loved this watch when it worked very disappointing SAMSUNG.

Great at first but so many disappointments later

Worked wonderfully at first. I chose this watch, after comparing many. I chose this one for the price, look, and ability to use Spotify without my phone. Now, I’m just a few months shy of having the device for two years and I regret this purchase daily. In Samsung fashion, it worked amazingly for the first 6 months to 1 year but now it’s a piece of junk. I no longer use Spotify because of so many glitches, can’t use the MapMyRun app because it doesn’t connect to GPS unless you turn the app on 10-20 minutes in advance plus it occasionally glitches and loses your workouts, S Health does’t always sync to the app so you can’t view your workouts on your phone, and the watch disconnects from Bluetooth daily even though the phone and watch are sitting right next to each other. This is ridiculous. I had no interest in needing the latest and greatest watch, and was hoping that this watch would last a good long while, but I will be getting rid of this one and buying a more reliable one soon. Thanks Samsung, you’ve proved to me again that all you produce is simply junk.
