This product is defect. I just had to drive all the way to a BestBuy to return it. GeekSquad confirmed it's defect and replace it with the new one by charging you the difference. You wont deal with more trouble and pay and leave. This is their marketing strategy to sell the new one eventually to their actual price. Now they may put my returned one refurbished on sale to hunt for the next victim. BestBuy should be confident replacing the refurbiched one if it is defect with no charges. What's the point selling refurbished tech if BestBuy is aware it's not working at first place and deal with returns and asking customer to go and buy a new one!?!

Was shipped in a padded envelope. Package was not secured, so did not trust that the hard drive was undamaged ended up returning it.

Refurbished drive already had 120TB written to it. Luckily my customer was ok with it and he won't get that kind of useage out of it.

Great Speed Boost for my Dell M6500 (1920x1200)

    * Arrived on time. * Nicely packaged with product sealed in the original box and then placed in a thick walled brown shipping envelope. * Boots very fast and my old Dell seems to have a new life that allows me to continue to run older engineering software. I no longer have time to make a sandwich while it boots. Note: in my particular situation, the original SATA drive in my machine was thicker than the new SSD. In this computer and in its primary drive slot there is no frame in which to attach it. For the BIOS to see the SSD, I had to place spacer material under the SSD to elevate it in order to make a good connection. Works great. I used a double side adhesive mounting foam pads. One on each corner of the SSD.

so as far as i can tell this drive is good, i purchased a refurbished drive and have had no issues. this evo 870 is setup to run and hold windows 11 only. i have a nvme gen3 1tb samsung 980 to install other software. with the magician software you can do what ever. i would not recommend if you plan on getting the 870 evo if you want more than just it having windows installed on it.

This SSD solved the access read-time performance issue that had been imposed by the previous hard-drive within the computer. The computer now runs along just fine, and the cost of a brand new SSD was also avoided by utilizing this "open box" SSD product offering.

I needed external storage for my iMac. Samsung products are my go to and this SSD met my needs. Installed in an enclosure and it was recognized by my computer. Great price as a refurbished product.

Refurbished is not backed by Samsung warranty.

"Refurbished" is assigned for a reason. I had this for couple of years (Samsung warranty is 5 years for this with upto 300TWB - READ below). No warranty for refurbished drives and my drive now is failing with hundreds of "uncorrectable errors" for some file. Just got a response from Samsung that refurbished drives are not warrantied, because they were sold/purchased opened and used "by someone else." Most files on my drive are still fine and OS boots, but some files cannot be copied or moved. S.M.A.R.T. reports lots of errors when I access some specific files. I am stuck with this dud and plan to copy OS ASAP to some other drive I haven't picked yet. Stay away from "refurbished" if you want to put some valuable files or OS on it.
