The best way to connect your TV to your Soundbar will be to use a Digital Optical Cable. Once connected then you will change the input to D.IN on your soundbar and you're going to be all set.

There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot your Soundbar.
Please verify that you are running the latest firmware on your TV. You can check to see what software version your TV is using and if there is an available update through the settings on your TV. Go to: Menu > Settings > Support > Software Update.
First do a soft reset, unplug the soundbar from the outlet for roughly 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
Verify your Soundbar's firmware is fully up to date. You can download the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-B450 under Standard.
Download the update and install it via USB thumb stick to your soundbar. If you need additional help, there are how-to instructions on this page. Please know that Samsung Customer Service is here to assist as well.
Lastly, do a hard reset. With the Soundbar on, press the + & - (Volume UP/DOWN) buttons on the body at the same time for at least 5 seconds. “INIT OK” appears on the display and then the Soundbar is reset.

From your review it sounds like you are having issues with a Bluetooth connection between the TV and Soundbar. For the best audio and user experience we do recommend using the provided Digital Optical Cable. This will give you the most stable connection, plus you will be able to control the Soundbar from your TV/Cable remote as well.

We have only had it a few days and are still getting accustomed to the new sounds. And to experiment with the different volumes. But so far, I would say, we are pleased.

You can set up a different TV remote to control the audio on the HW-B450 Soundbar. Below are the steps needed to set that up. Please keep in mind that not all manufacturers remotes will work.
Adjust the Soundbar volume using the TV’s remote control.
• This function can be used with IR remote controls only. Bluetooth remote controls (remote controls that require pairing) are not supported.
• Set the TV speaker to External Speaker to use this function.
1. Turn Off the Soundbar.
2. Push up and hold the WOOFER button for 5 seconds.
Each time you push the WOOFER button up and hold it for 5 seconds, the mode switches in the
following order: “OFF-TV REMOTE” (Default mode), “SAMSUNG-TV REMOTE”, “ALL-TV REMOTE”.
Hopefully, this helps you enjoy the HW-B450 Soundbar more.
