Great Sound Quality

The audio from my TV was really poor quality so I decided to invest in a sound bar to see if it would help. Wow, did it ever!! The Dolby sound is crisp and this unit has a realistic 3D surround sound….I hear sounds from all directions! The set up was very easy-I didn’t wall mount it but it comes with a kit if you want to go that route. It is easy to connect to WiFi and Bluetooth with makes the system convenient to use. The adaptive sound feature is awesome-you can switch from sports to movies to get the best audio depending on what you’re watching. The system includes a subwoofer which is wireless-wahooo!! The sound bar itself is low profile and fits nicely below my TV and is hardly noticeable. It is black in color which allows it to blend in with most TVs. It does have a game mode that I have not used but my kids will be excited to use. The unit comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty. This sound bar has transformed my TV/Movie watching - I’m very pleased and highly recommend!

Way better than built in tv speakers!

I would encourage anyone setting up the speakers to disable the audio coming out of the TV as it could cause some level of interference. The sound quality of these is much better than any speakers that are built into the TV. My biggest complaint on these is there doesn’t appear to be any upgrade path. If you decide to add more channels down the road the build quality is good. I would also encourage using a third-party remote to control your TV. Your speakers in your cable box with one remote rather than two or three. The base that comes out of the speakers is good, mids are great. I would encourage anyone who is buying a new TV today to consider this set to provide better audio than the TV cam, it will improve your experience of watching anything films movies TV shows, whatever dramatically. The sound bar part of this will fit on most shelves or cabinets. The subwoofer will fit under or near most end, tables, cabinets, or whatever else you might have.

Good value soundbar.

I had an initial issue where the volume would go up and down on its own. But once i figured out how to factory reset it, has been functioning to expectation.

Whining sound coming from the sub

I originally purchased the lower end model and there was no sound coming from the bar. I exchanged up slightly for this one based on availability, and this one has a terrible whining coming from the sub. I can't seem to find resources to correct it so I'm assuming it's a defect. The noise is a low whine that you only notice when the TV is on the menu screen, but it's awful. I recommend buying up or perhaps a different brand entirely.

Check to see if your TV and Soundbar are plugged in to the same outlet or surge protector. If they are, try moving the subwoofer to another outlet or protector. This could relieve the humming you are hearing. If your Modem/router is too close to the Soundbar or Subwoofer this can also cause electrical interference, if they are very close please move the modem further away.

Horrible sync with TV picture

To synchronize your Soundbar audio and TV, press the SOUND CONTROL button to select AUDIO SYNC and then set the audio delay between 0~300 milliseconds by using the Up/Down buttons.
If you are using a Samsung TV from 2020, 2021, or 2022, then you will have a feature called Audio Pass-Through. You can utilize this feature on your Samsung TV to correct your audio-sync issue.
On your TV go to Settings > Audio > Expert Settings > Digital Audio Output Format > Pass-Through.
If you are using a different brand TV, then check the manual for this setting as well, depending on the brand and model it may or may not have this feature.

Cheap quality soundbar

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the audio quality of the HW-B450 Soundbar. I am sorry that you have experienced issues with your Bluetooth connection.
You can try manually optimizing your settings by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing SURROUND SOUND - GAME - ADAPTIVE - BASS BOOST - STANDARD
Additionally, there are two additional adjustments that can be made for bass and subwoofer:
1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down
2) Adjust the BASS or TREBLE by pressing the TONE CONTROL button on the remote control, then select
For precise audio adjustments, you can use the 7-band frequency equalizer to optimize the sound for your room acoustics by pressing and holding the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds, make sure you also set the SOUND MODE to STANDARD.
Make sure there are not any Wi-Fi routers or modems near your soundbar or subwoofer, as this can cause interference issues. If you are not getting these noises when using Digital Optical, or another smart device connected, try unpairing your original device and then pairing again.
Lastly, you can do a firmware update on your soundbar. You can download the firmware directly from Samsung’s website by clicking “Support” in the top right corner. Then go to “Manuals & Software” > “TVs & Home Theater” > “Home Theater” > “Sound Bars”. From there, you can select the HW-B450 under Standard.
Download the update and install it via USB thumb stick to your soundbar. If you need additional help, there are how-to instructions on this page. Please know that Samsung Customer Service is here to assist as well.

Did not even last 30 days.

Now I have to get a service request to send it to Samsung to get it fixed, which would be fine but the TV’s speakers do not work. And, surprise surprise, that’s a Samsung too. So mad that I could spit fire. Note to anyone reading this, Samsung products are garbage and should be avoided at all costs.

There are a few ways you can correct any audio sync issues you may be experiencing. Press the SOUND CONTROL button to select AUDIO SYNC and then set the audio delay between 0~300 milliseconds by using the Up/Down buttons. (Not available in “USB” or “BT” mode.)
If you are using a 2020/2021/2022 Samsung TV then it will have a feature called Audio Pass-Through. You can utilize this feature on your Samsung TV to correct your audio-sync issue.
On your TV go to Settings > Audio > Expert Settings > Digital Audio Output Format > Pass-Through.
If you are using another brand TV, check the full manual to see if there is an option similar to the one described above.
