Great soundbar for upgrading lame TV speakers!

This soundbar is legit for only 2.1, I’m not old, but not having any inputs other than optical audio seemed weird, but I didn’t realize how many TV’s have wireless connectivity! You can obviously also connect a phone/PC/other bluetooth devices. I also tested it with my desktop, and boy you do not need something this big a few feet away, but either TV or PC, it sounds GREAT for being connected over bluetooth. I’m no audiophile, but I do have good enough ears to know bad sound vs premium sound. I’d say wireless soundbars are good enough for 90+% of users that just need better sound compared to stock built in TV speakers (which are usually terrible). This set ultimately fits the bill nearly perfectly! If you don’t need surround sound, the 2 channel sound bar will fill up a small room easily, plus the wireless subwoofer is easy to set up and instantly noticeable vs built in TV speakers which always lack depth. Movies get a more punch, and you can easily hear the difference in video games as well!

Good entry level soundbar
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Samsung B450 2.1ch soundbar is a good budget soundbar. The B450 is as standard as any soundbar can get, but what it lacks in the number of speakers, it makes up for in features. It has 2 channel speakers in the soundbar itself, plus a wireless subwoofer. Surprisingly, there are only 2 options for connecting the soundbar to your TV…Either via the included optical cable, or Bluetooth. Sadly, this soundbar does not offer HDMI. On the plus side, the soundbar can be mounted and does include mounting brackets. The B450 looks nice, it reminds me of a brushed steel look. The front of the soundbar has a small LCD display that is easy to see even behind the grill. The included remote is one of the nicest remotes Samsung has made in a while. The soundbar features the latest version of Bluetooth and works flawlessly. The B450 also features some nice sound modes that can really enhance your listening experience. Such as the bass boost, voice enhance, night mode, and adaptive sound. The adaptive sound changes the sound mode to match the content you’re watching, for example action movies, games etc. Once I connected the soundbar, I tried out various things. First, I wanted to test out how music sounds, so I connected it to my iPhone via bluetooth…The sound quality is a lot better than I expected to get. There is a decent range of audio from all sound fields. The highs were bright and mids were distinguishable, but the bass was rather lacking. Next, I wanted to test out how well movies sound, this is where the soundbar started to shine. The voice enhance really works well with raising the vocal levels - making it much easier to hear spoken words. The surround sound effect was actually pretty impressive, and the bass was pretty good with explosions. The one problem that I have, and this happens with every Samsung soundbar that I have used, the vol level is inconsistent. Meaning, the volume gets higher and lower sporadically. Overall, the Samsung B450 is a great entry level soundbar. It has a wide range of audio levels from lows to highs and the wireless subwoofer packs a decent punch for added bass. The downsides are; no HDMI connection, and over time the vol levels get a little wonky. All in all, this is solid soundbar.

This soundbar features a powerful wireless subwoofer, as well as Bass Boost mode to instantly amplify the bass with a touch of a button. You can try manually optimizing your settings by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing SURROUND SOUND - GAME - ADAPTIVE LITE - BASS BOOST - STANDARD
Additionally, there are two additional adjustments that can be made for bass and subwoofer:
1) Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down
2) Adjust the BASS or TREBLE by pressing the TONE CONTROL button on the remote control, then you will use the UP/DOWN buttons to adjust either between -6 to +6.
For precise audio adjustments, you can use the 7-band frequency equalizer to optimize the sound for your room acoustics by pressing and holding the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds, make sure you also set the SOUND MODE to STANDARD.

The seeming majority just don't seem to deliver on their promises of a great sound experience. Not so with the Samsung - HW-B450/ZA 2.1 ch Soundbar with Dolby Audio DTS 2.0 system. It delivers over and above what I expected. Far over and above. First, when I received the Samsung unit, I was pleasantly surprised by its weight. It felt sturdy and substantial in the box, unlike so many of the cheap models that are mostly plastic. As I unboxed the unit, I further noticed at how well put-together it is. It has a black, brushed aluminum finish and real cloth covering the speakers. The bass unit is also very well put together, made of painted black wood and also has real cloth covering the front. The unit comes with power cords and an optic cable, as well as hardware to mount the soundbar to the wall if you want. The installation and setup was completely effortless...just a simple connection of the power cords, connecting the optic cable. The most difficult part of the setup/installation process was determining exactly how I wanted to place the soundbar in relation to the television. In the end, I placed the soundbar itself to the right of the television, and the bass unit across the room pointed toward my sofa. Yes, the bass unit is wireless, and that is, in and of itself, one of the greatest selling points of the system, at least in my opinion. This allows for a very customizable setup. I was able to use the bluetooth connection, but for some reason it just sounds better to me using the cable, so I was a bit tethered as far as the soundbar itself goes. Had I gone with the bluetooth setup, I could have had the soundbar sitting right behind the sofa. After getting it all hooked up, it was just a matter of turning on the TV and the soundbar, and enjoying the sound. Almost everything can be controlled from the included remote. There are several different sound modes you can choose from, and as well you can adjust the bass to suit your own particular listening experience. In all seriousness, I was extremely surprised at just how good the Samsung soundbar sounds. Dialog is crystal clear, highs and lows are not garbled or lacking, and the bass!! It is almost like sitting in an IMAX theater when the bass is at max, and no distortion. I don't know how they do it, but when the surround sound mode is enabled, it seems to completely fill the room with rich clear sound. And did I mention the bass? When it is all said and done, the bottom line is whether the Samsung HW B450/ZA offers a sound experience that is not only completely enjoyable, but worth the investment. The answer is absolutely yes! When you sit down to watch TV, you want to be able to hear everything. You don't want to have to sacrifice dialog in order to enjoy bass, and you don't want to listen to explosions and other bass-intensive sounds that are only shadows, simply in order to hear the dialog. The Samsung brings you the best of both with no sacrificing...even at this price point! It simply delivers the entire package. I would, and will heartily recommend the HW-B450/ZA 2.1 ch Soundbar to all my friends and family. Now, if you will excuse me, I have some great sound experiences to enjoy! Do yourself a favor, get this soundbar.

Subwoofer came busted
