I connected mine with the optical cable but the problem is that with that cable you cannot control the volume effectively. The up and down button is excruciatingly slow and there is no indication on the screen what volume level you are at. The Samsung people told me it was compatible with my Samsung tv which is true to a point. That is, you can make that optical connection. But no one would be happy with that situation. I will be returning this for sure. And the instructions it came with are horrible.

Crappy sound bar. Do not buy
