Don`t bother with this system unless your rood will accommodate the 10ft of speaker wire that has to plug into the wireless receiver in order for the rear surround speakers to work. That`s the whole point of "surround speakers'. You want the rear sound to be next to you or behind you. The packaging that has all of the parts for this device, doesn`t mention how long the wire is before you start taking it out of the box. You have to have a small room for this system to be functional. I bought it on Friday and returned it less than 48-hours later. How disappointed I was. Wireless subwoofer, soundbar, and receiver are kinda useless if you have to run wires that are less than say 20-25ft.

      Hi REWjr1963,

Thank you for your review of the Samsung HW-Q65T Soundbar and for sharing your thoughts regarding the design that have caused you to return your unit. Your experience is very important to us and will be shared with our product team.

Occasionally, customers have trouble hiding and running speaker wires from the front of the room (where their soundbar is) to the back of their room (where they have their rear speakers). The Rear Speaker Kit eliminates that hassle. Connect the rear speakers to its wireless module and place these three in the back of your room. One wire is required to connect each rear speaker to the wireless module. Then plug in the power cable to the module. The “wireless” convenience is in connecting your soundbar and any other speakers at the front of the room to the rear speakers – this can now be done via Wi-Fi through the wireless module, eliminating any clutter of long wires running the length of your room.

      Hi gator,

Thank you for purchasing the HW-Q65T Soundbar and for your review. We value your feedback regarding quiet center channel dialogue. To improve your experience, press the Sound Mode button on your remote control and select Adaptive Sound. In Adaptive Sound mode, the soundbar analyzes the content and volume to optimize the audio rendering resulting in clearer dialogue.

You can also try manually optimizing your audio experience by pressing the SOUND CONTROL button (looks like a gear) to access the setting items such as TREBLE, BASS, and AUDIO SYNC. The selected item can be adjusted using the Up/Down buttons.

      – To control the volume of the treble or bass sound, select TREBLE or BASS in Sound Settings, and then adjust the volume between -6 to +6 by using the Up/Down buttons.

      – Press and hold the SOUND CONTROL button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each frequency band. 150Hz, 300Hz, 600Hz, 1.2kHz, 2.5kHz, 5kHz, and 10kHz are selectable using the Left/Right buttons and each can be adjusted to a setting between -6 to +6 using the Up/Down buttons. (Make sure the Sound mode is set to “STANDARD”.)

      Hi Thomas,

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-Q65T Soundbar with Wireless Rear Speakers. We appreciate you sharing your experience with the surround sound system.

By design, the surround speakers are supposed to simulate sounds happening behind the viewer. Therefore, most of the time the surround channels are only used for ambient sounds, which are naturally lower in volume. However, there are a few settings you can change to adjust the surround effect to your preference:

      1) Make sure that the source (e.g. TV output) is sending surround channels to the Soundbar. If the source is not capable of surround, then set the Surround mode to OFF on the Soundbar by pressing the Surround button on the remote.
      2) If the source has surround channels, select the desired Sound Mode from the Soundbar remote.
      3) Turn off Dynamic Range Control. This is done by pressing and holding the Sound Mode button while the Soundbar is in standby mode. Depending on your soundbar model, you may or may not have DRC.
      4) Increase the volume level of the surround speakers using the Sound Control button on the Soundbar remote control. Press the Sound Control button on the soundbar remote (looks like a gear), then select REAR LEVEL and use the Up/Down buttons to adjust the volume within a -6 to +6 range.

I hope these tips help to enhance your audio enjoyment.

      Hi Marj,

I am very sorry to hear about the difficulties you are experiencing with the setup of your new Samsung Soundbar and the connection to the Wireless Rear Speakers. We completely understand your frustrations and are here to help!

When powered on for the first time, the rear speakers and subwoofer should automatically connect wirelessly. If the auto-connection process fails, you can try manually connecting the sub and rears to the soundbar.

To manually setup the wireless rear speaker kit included with the soundbar if the auto connection process fails, first use the color-coded speaker wires to connect the rear speakers to its wireless module and place these three in the back of your room. Plug the wireless receiver module power cord into an electrical outlet and into the wireless receiver module to turn on the wireless receiver module.

Turn off your soundbar and press the Up button on the remote for 5 seconds. The ID SET message will appear on the soundbar for a short time and then disappear. After the ID SET process, the soundbar power is automatically turned on. The LINK LED indicator stops blinking and glows a solid blue when a connection is established between the soundbar and the wireless receiver module.

I hope these tips help resolve the issues you are experiencing. If you would like additional assistance with the setup of your rear speakers, please contact Samsung Customer Support at 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for Soundbars), available 8AM - 12AM EST, 7 days a week.

      Hi Bonezz,

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-Q65T. We appreciate you sharing your feedback regarding the performance of your new Samsung sound system.

The HW-Q65T was designed to deliver immersive surround sound. Speakers firing from the front, side, and rear brings the surround sound to life. Adaptive Sound automatically analyzes the sound signal to optimize sound based on each scene including voices at the lowest volumes.

You can try optimizing audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or ADAPTIVE SOUND.

You can further adjust TREBLE and BASS via the SOUND CONTROL button (looks like a gear symbol).

Please know, some sources have their own volume control which might be set too low. Please check the volume control of the external device (cable box or satellite box, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.) connected to your TV or soundbar. Also, check the cable connection between an external device and the TV or soundbar and then try cable connection again.

      Hi Beef!

Thank you for your review of the HW-Q65T Soundbar with Subwoofer and Wireless Rear Speakers. I’m very sorry for the difficulties you’ve experienced with your Soundbar’s setup. We completely understand your frustrations, and we are here to help.

Your soundbar and subwoofer should connect automatically when they are turned on, but you can also connect manually just as easily. If the subwoofer is completely connected, the blue LED LINK indicator on the subwoofer stops blinking and glows continuously. If the blue LED does not stop blinking, the process has failed.

For manual connection, after both soundbar and subwoofer are plugged in to a wall outlet, press and hold the ID SET button on the back of the subwoofer for at least 5 seconds. The red indicator on the rear of the subwoofer turns off and the blue indicator blinks.

Press and hold the Up button on the remote control for at least 5 seconds. The ID SET message appears on the display of the Soundbar for a moment, and then it disappears. The Soundbar will automatically power on when ID SET is complete.

Check if the LINK LED is solid blue (connection complete). The LINK LED indicator stops blinking and glows a solid blue when a connection is established between the Soundbar and the Wireless Subwoofer.

The Rear Speaker kit included with the HW-Q65T can be connected through a similar process described below:

Use the color-coded speaker wires to connect the rear speakers to their wireless module and place these three in the back of your room.

If the LED light is solid blue, the rear speakers are connected to your soundbar.
If the LED light is blinking blue, the module is in standby status:
      • Check to see if your soundbar is turned on
      • Turn off the soundbar by pressing the power button on the main soundbar unit. Configure "ID SET" using the soundbar's remote control, then turn the soundbar back on.
If the LED light is red, the connection attempt failed.
      • Check to see if your soundbar is turned on
      • Press the ID SET button on the back of the wireless receiver module with a pen tip for 5-6 seconds until the LED indicator blinks blue

Not at all satisfied for spending 600$ on this Soundbar. Bought this to go with new TV and it sucks. Rear speakers are useless. Very unsatisfied. I knew we made a mistake after the first few days. Do not buy this Soundbar

      Hi rondty,

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-Q65T soundbar and for your review.
