    Great laptop!

I bought this around 2 months ago for college and I absolutely love it! It's extremely fast (turns on in like 2 seconds not even joking). The battery life is honestly really good (not the best but I can use it for many hours before I have to charge it). The keyboard is really nice and clicky and the overall appearance of the laptop is really beautiful (it kind of looks like a MacBook pro) and it looks really sleek. It's also super lightweight/portable and I think the screen size is perfect. My only small complaint would be that the bottom of the laptop can get pretty hot but that's expected in most laptops and it's easily fixable with just putting a blanket or pillow on your lap. I got it on sale for around $650, so I think for the price, this laptop really can't be beat. Like most people I was a bit skeptical of buying a Samsung laptop, especially because other brands like Mac and Lenovo are so overhyped, but I'm very pleasantly surprised with this laptop. Highly recommend!

It’s slow, the fan is loud. Based on the reviews I thought for sure this would be awesome. It’s not. Get a Mac or an HP. I bought it in December so it’s pretty much brand new. Get yourself something else.

This was the PERFECT laptop in the beginning. Now, 10 months later with using it about 5 times a month, it no longer connects to the internet. I have to run a diagnose on it everytime I want to use the internet and it will lose the internet in the middle of doing important stuff. Not reliable at all. I figured I would love this till the end as I love Samsung phones. No...just a huge let down.

I picked this laptop up recently and have been disappointed with it to the point that I'm returning it tomorrow. It has two major problems. First, Chrome will freeze up and quit on me virtually every time I use it. I'm a Chrome user so this is unacceptable. And when I'm in Chrome watching YouTube the video is choppy. I switch over to Edge and the problem goes away. Now I may have just gotten a bad unit but I'm not going to take the chance on another one.

The screen went black last night while being used and now it can’t be started up. Also the fingerprint reader is nearly worthless.

over all disliked it only owned it for a little while before I returned it. when using the touch pad it already zoomed in and zoomed out allot when I was just trying to navigate. also dislike the single button left and right click. half the time it never worked. The last thing on my list is the kids back lit keyboard. it quit staying on. would come on and go off no matter where I put the settings.

great laptop with some quirks to it

I recently bought this Samsung laptop and also an i7 asus zenbook flip. the Samsung is an i5 with 8 gigs of ram and asus is an i7 with 16 gigs of ram. I use mainly use ableton on my laptop so this is for all the musicians out there. This Samsung was much more stable and capable than the i7 asus. I was a little shocked. I had to run my heavy test session a few times on each machine to make sure I was seeing the right results. the asus's cpu meter would jump up pretty high, sometimes above 100% which I've never seen before. on the Samsung it stayed below 70. Granted this was a test session I made with a good amount of cpu heavy synths and heavy compression reverb effects. Now i'm not saying the Samsung worked perfectly. At a certain point, it gave up, but it was way more than anything i'd use in real life. Most of my sessions don't go past 10 tracks. most of those tracks being real instruments I record so not much vst stuff going on. I know this i5 Samsung will be able to perform perfectly for me. I know the i7 asus could easily perform what I need it to do in terms of music, but the Samsung is 600$ while the asus is 1300$. So i'm holding onto the 700$ difference and taking the wife out a few times instead. as for the quarks. The fn key is a little annoying. i'm not used to the way it functions yet. Not a deal breaker, just something a little annoying. quick pros on this laptop. runs really quiet and cool. haven't had any fan issues. charger is small and light I thought I'd hate the feel of the laptop, but I'm starting to really enjoy the tactile feeling of it. it may not be the most durable laptop on the market, so it does incentive you to be a bit more careful with it (which I'm all for. A computer is a bunch of fragile electronics in a tiny case)

This little computer got lambasted in reviews for its boring appearance. Fortunately, I do not buy computers to show off their external glitz to friends and family, but instead to actually work on, and this one really shines for that. Pros: Screen is extremely nice. NO FLICKER. I am very sensitive to that, and this is rock steady, which means no eyestrain even after a long stint staring at it. 512GB SSD. Nice size; most are 256 or smaller capacity in this price range. Glad to have the extra room, personally. Keyboard is just right. Not too big, not too small, good wrist angles, very nice key click feel. I could start typing at speed right away without hitting the wrong keys due to poor spacing. Very fast startup and load speed. Photoshop, which tends to be pokey to load on my older (high end, but older) desktop, pops right up on this one. Wacom Bamboo Ink pen (purchased separately) works fine for simple tasks. It does have functional pressure sensitivity in Photoshop, but apparently not in Corel Painter (but I have to look further in case there is a setting I am missing there). It's not as good as a separate graphics pen/tablet (Wacom Intuos, for example), but it's very handy for most quick tasks and regular handwriting. Computer seems to run cool, with only mild warmth on the bottom when I was setting up many programs at once this evening. The fan is extremely quiet when it's on, also. I can't tell you about battery life yet, as I have been running it on A/C while getting it set up. On the plus side, though, it did charge completely very quickly. Touchpad got mixed reviews, but I find it absolutely fine. Cons: The power switch is in a bad spot, and it is super easy to hit it and accidentally turn the machine off. I've already done that three times this evening. I suppose I will get used to its placement in time, but it could be in a better spot. No Samsung specific drivers for aftermarket active pen (Wacom Bamboo), Not sure if any other pens out there have them either. Moderate amount of bloatware comes with it. I uninstalled a lot of it. Can't tell you how it does on games as I haven't played any on it yet, but I expect if you are a serious gamer, this would probably not do it for you, as it only has the integrated graphics. For occasional basic gaming I suspect it will be fine. So, overall, I am extremely pleased with this machine.

Bought this specifically to run Serato DJ and it works perfectly. Not a big apple fan and never used Mac's before so needed something good with Windows. This works and runs quickly! No issues!

Love the device. But needs new hard drive already. My wife is very gentle on device, does not take this traveling, and does not keep in plugged in. The typical wear and tear should hold up a lot longer than 2 yrs. Ext warranty ran out Nov 30 and less than 2 months later it breaks down. Probably go back to lenovo
