I loved everything about the laptop except how quickly it gets hot! I was simply watching youtube videos an hour after unboxing it and the bottom would get hot within 10 minutes and then the fan starts making loud noises when I am not even heavily using it. I exchanged the laptop assuming it was just a bad one but the exchanged one is having the exact same problem. I wanted to bring this laptop to class but it would be too loud and end up distracting others around me. Very disappointed. Other than that, the display is great, the keyboard is comfortable and it is lightweight. The camera is laggy and grainy though. Not nearly worth the price.

This laptop boasts many features and all of them are talked up way more than they are actually worth. The touchscreen is for basic gesture movements, even though it boasts "1024 levels of pressure." The resolution of the sensitivity is bad, so that working in photoshop all of your lines come out jagged. Its the equivalent of drawing on an Etch-a-Sketch. Nothing but stairsteps when you are trying to draw a diagonal. On top of that, the pressure sensitivity is terrible. My hand would start aching after less than an hour. The graphics and memory are pathetic. I have to play World of Warcraft-Classic Version (literally a game from 15 years ago) on medium-low settings and even then the thing heats up like a furnace within the first 30 minutes. Furthermore, leaving basic apps open overnight causes the laptop to freeze up the next time it activates from sleep mode. Like, can't open any apps, <CTRL + ALT + Delete> doesn't work, and I have no choice but to hard reset. Are you kidding me? I've owned $300 laptops that do better. The battery life is wussy. When coding in a simple text editor and browsing the web, which are two rather basic tasks, I might have 3 hours tops. The forced facial recognition barely works and I actually have to wait like 10 seconds before it LETS me type my password in. The power button is on the side of the body and extremely sensitive and you WILL accidentally turn the computer off in the middle of your sessions OFTEN. There are so many other gripes I have. This laptop is a sham, worth maybe half the price. DO NOT BUY.

I have trouble with typing because the words jump around and move back in the beginning or middle of the sentence and I don't know why. I am constantly having to delete sentences or words or start over. Especially in emails.

I bought this laptop on clearance for $804 and at that price in particular it is an amazing deal. I've been researching laptops seemingly forever and kept going back and forth between the HP Spectre, Dell XPS 13 and the Lenovo C930. I almost pulled the trigger on the Lenovo ... And then rather randomly happened on the Samsung Notebook 9 Pro. Given that this laptop was about $500 less than the other options and had a key differentiator with screen brightness, I'm so glad I did. I'm not sure why this laptop is so hard to find information on in comparison to the others -- Samsung marketing needs to step their game up, I guess -- but after consuming everything I could find find about it, I determined this was a fantastic deal. My requirements were a 2 in 1 with at least an 8th gen i5 and 8gb ram. There are plenty of such options out there, but what really set this machine apart for me was the display. I like to use my computer while sitting outside, and the 500 nits you can get by toggling on outdoor mode was the key in making my final decision. It makes such a huge difference compared to my old laptop that maxes out at about 300 nits. As others have indicated, the inking experience is also amazing. It's at least on par with previous Microsoft surface devices that I've used. The port options on this machine also sold me. I won't detail them all since you can find them in the listing, but it's awesome that they included everything -- they didn't omit USB C (ahem Microsoft) nor the older standard. They included a mini card reader and HDMI for easy hookup. The ability to charge via USB C in addition to the normal charger was also a big plus for me. I haven't used this much yet, but it certainly charges more slowly on USB C than via the regular charger, so it's not quite as ideal. The included Samsung Settings software is surprisingly great. The battery saver mode extends battery life to seemingly ten hours plus without any real impact on most real world performance (I do some Excel number crunching but for the most part surfing the web, streaming video, etc.). There's also a max performance mode that you can get into when the situation calls for it. I only have two complaints: 1) Given my druthers, I would have preferred 16 gb ram and an i5, but basically nobody offers this, so, oh well. It's not as if performance isn't amazing as it is. 2) My only REAL complaint so far is that it gets a little warm on my lap. My previous laptop was a 14 inch Lenovo with a sixth gen i5 and I very, very rarely noticed it warm at all. Granted, this Samsung is a smaller machine with an i7, so it's not as if I didn't expect it to be warmer, but I wish it wasn't. For general use on battery, it's actually barely noticeable. However, when plugged in and streaming video and doing some Excel work, it did get pretty hot -- not to the point of burning, but certainly uncomfortable on the legs. Overall, this is a great laptop that deserves more attention!
