This is one of the most amazing Notebooks I purchased in the last 5 years. One year later exactly, still working as the first day. Amazing color, amazing weight, amazing design. I am a monster writer and the keyboard is just something, no noise and very responsive. Also, most of time the Notebook is used by my daughter and you know what I mean (yes, games) and even though runs super fast and the screen quality is super HD. I am not a touch screen lover and I don´t use it too much but it's a nice feature. It helps me in pressure moments. For real. Well, in one word this is an amazing value and it is why I trust Samsung (Phones, TVs and everything at home is a Samsung), they are serious about their mobile technology. At the end, I am writing this review because I am buying a new model and sure it is gonna be a Samsung. Cheers

I have owned the Samsung notebook 9 Pro for a little over two years now this laptop is well built. It offers a Windows Hello camera, and a stylus that uses welcomes technology to write on the screen. Am very happy with the purchase that I made when comparing it to a similar MacBook. The main reason why a purchases laptop was because of the touchscreen and stylus as well as the amount of RAM and a dedicated GPU. Now saying this laptop may be dated, and there may be other options in the present day that may be a better value. I'm writing this review because I just recently had a battery failure on the laptop now I'm not exactly too sure if two years for a laptop's battery is a norm. Other laptops that I've owned the battery has well over lasted more than two years. If Best Buy offers an extended warranty past two years it may be a benefit towards purchasing it. Was able to purchase the battery and it's fairly easy to install it as well as upgrade the computer's storage it seems as though during the time of me writing this review that M.2 nano's SSD storage is decently priced where you can get a terabyte of storage under $200. Reasons that I would recommend buying this laptop > well-constructed materials aluminum housing > touchscreen stylus to write on the screen dedicated GPU/hybrid RAM reasons you may want to look at other computers before considering this purchase this laptop is becoming outdated for 2019. > battery life is under 10 hours in conclusion, if you can get this laptop at a sale price I don't see you not being unhappy with it. I would consider buying an extended warranty if the option is there and offers more than two years of an extended warranty.

Was looking for a new laptop to replace one that's 7+ years old, and preferred to go with Samsung again, for various reasons. Pros: Very light. Has a Pen/stylus built in that you can use for various touchscreen stuff. Has a higher RAM, which I like. Touchscreen/tablet capability. Reasonably uncomplicated to set up. Cons: Price is a bit high for something that only has a 256Gb drive and total features. Actual screen design (seems to be mostly edge-to-edge, except for the bottom part of the bezel) makes it super easy to get smeary fingerprints, etc. on the screen. Webcam: Design on top of screen makes it VERY DIFFICULT to put a cover on it, because there's a 1) cam indicator light, 2) Cam, 3) face recognition sensor, 4) face recog. LED all under a tablet-grade smooth surface - it's a super-wide alignment of indicators/cameras that's difficult to cover externally. I'd say don't buy this model without being able to physically touch it and see how it looks/feels (I bought the last one they had at the particular store after they removed the floor model and wouldn't let me look at it, blah blah) to ensure it fits your needs 100%. The Cons I find with this model are why it loses a star for me - the Pros are why it gets to keep 4 stars.

So far everything is great! It had everything I was looking for in a laptop and was for a good price. I use it mostly for school. The touch screen is super convenient. In tablet mode a 15" is slightly bulky but still comfortable enough to use. I have yet to test how well the graphics card works for light gaming so I can't comment on that. Only thing that isn't ideal is the speakers being on the bottom, but turning the volume all the way up usually makes the sound ok.

I love this laptop. Screen looks great, keyboard strokes feel amazing, and super fast. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is due to the battery life being so short. Very inconvenient to have to charge it every 4 hours.

So far this Samsung Notebook 9 Pro has been great, but I've only had it a month so time will tell the full tale. It is everything I was looking for and then some - fast, decent sized SSD, lots of RAM, touch screen, back-lighted keyboard, etc. It stays cool, unlike a past laptop. I love the facial recognition sign-in, and that is a feature I wasn't even looking for. I do occasionally create unintentional commands when my right hand brushes the touchpad, but so far that has not been a big issue. Overall, I highly recommend this laptop.

Bought this as an open box store display, but still paid almost full price and was disapointed it did not include the pen, but I can use the one that came with my tablet. I had my eye on this model for a while and even though it was not a brand new computer it was re-stored to factory settings by best buy before I bought it. It works great so far and way faster than my last laptop which was 6 years old. I finally gave that to my sister since it still works, but the main reason I got this is because it's a touch screen and can be used in tablet mode which comes in handy for my doodles. I also upgraded to a 512 ssd to double the memory and it's probably even faster then before. So far I haven't been disapointed with any Samsung product.

Would have preferred a smaller screen to keep weight down, and make transport easier, but I thought that Windows 10 needed the extra RAM that only this model has - so I bought this one. Also would have liked a bigger SSD, but that wasn't available either. Samsung keyboards are the best! Having trouble with the facial recognition log on, but I guess that's par for the course. Overall, a good choice for someone on the road.

This laptop is fast and the tech. is awesome. From the touch screen to the face recognizer. The pen is light but effective on the screen. The only reason why it's not a 5 star is because the speakers are poop. My phone has louder speakers than this laptop. I definitely think this laptop is going to last me a while just like my past samsung laptop.

Feels like a gem! The screen seems to automatically go a shade darker when not having the power plugged in. But this could be my windows setting. The battery life seems great. One thing that kind of is weird, is I cannot tell if I'm actually using the extra graphics card. one time I commanded through settings or click through windows device manager, or was it task manager, and saw some weird setting. I figured new laptops must know what they are doing. I think the extra graphics only turn on automatically maybe or something. This laptop feels great. The screen is sensitive, cleans easy. It opens and closes great, like it'll last. The sound is great, and the built in fans are almost always off or really quiet. They keyboard and HOME and END buttons works, having designated HOME button I think makes this laptop way better than all other brands, for fast text writing. The stylus also, I cannot lose it because it slides into laptop. I'm very happy with it. very thin and light. Fantastic. The factory reset, pressing SHIFT with reboot worked fine for me, although I maybe don't want to have to do this, for me it was just a test to make sure I could get back to brand new laptop configuration. The keyboard feels a step above when typing, bigger feeling buttons.

Notebook was an open box item so got a good deal. Build quality is good to excellent. Keyboard has nice travel for touch typists. Performance with the SSD is outstanding and system has excellent battery life. Am getting up to 8 hours with heavy use. Radeon graphics chip is suitable for most tasks except hardcore gaming. The i7 cpu and 16GB of memory allows multiple apps to run seamlessly. Built in pen is a nice added feature but haven't put it to use enough to really comment. Overall great buy. Was also looking at the Surface Book and Tablets but the cost and features of this unit sold me.

This laptop is lightweight, and has everything I was looking for. I love the feel of the keyboard, and the resolution is terrific. I have yet to use the stylus much, but I do love that it can be used as a tablet with touch screen. I do wish the power port was on the right side, but that is only a slight con. I will highly recommend this laptop!

I use this laptop on a daily basis and it has a beautiful screen and a good touchpad. This is probably the best touchpad I have seen on a Windows laptop. The keyboard has decent travel on the keys. Windows Hello facial recognition works most of the times and sometimes gets stuck. This is quite a good laptop for productivity and doesnt compromise anywhere. The battery life is good and I get around 5 hours on a single charge. The laptop is light. Samsung has some nifty features like battery saving and privacy guard screen.

I bought this laptop to replace my 4 year old HP notebook. I was looking for something that was lightweight but had modern hardware that will not become obsolete within a year or so. I use this laptop for general day to day activities, so the i7 processor and 16GB of ram are enough for me to get all of my activities done without causing any lag. The laptop rotates all the way and can become a tablet for on the go projects. The touchscreen feature is nice to use when in tablet mode.

I CONSIDER THIS A VERY GOOD BUY. IT HAS A HIDEAWAY STORAGE COMPARTMENT FOR THE WRITING PEN, HAS A TOUCH SCREEN, AND A SENSITIVE TOUCHPAD. ONE USB-C PORT COMES IN HANDY ALSO. MY ONLY CONCERN WAS THE 256GB SSD DRIVE MIGHT BE SMALL. I AUGMENTED INTERNAL MEMORY WITH A SUPER FAST 512GB FLASH DRIVE AND A 1TB EXTERNAL SSD DRIVE. ALL DRIVES ARE WORKING FINE IN TANDEM. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE. OH, IT HAS A 2GB DISCRETE GRAPHICS CARD I ALMOST FORGOT. SWEET!!

Pros +Flexible as a 2-in-1 and very portable +Included S-Pen works well and stores in the case +Comfortable keyboard and accurate touchpad +Has a USB-C port that supports charging +Excellent build quality Cons -Battery life is only average -Some bloatware, especially Samsung apps -Speakers could have more bass Summary This is a very good 2-in-1 from Samsung. It doesn't have any noticeable weak spots. It has a good mix of ports that includes USB-C, is light, and very well constructed. The pricing is on par as well when compared to others with similar build quality. This device is recommended for daily use, business travelers that want an ultrabook but with a larger screen, and students. Background I picked up the Samsung Notebook 9 Pro 15 with Intel 8th Gen CPU from my local Best Buy. I wanted a travel friendly Windows 2-in-1 with a good screen, keyboard, touchpad, USB-C compatibility, and battery life. My daily driver to this point has been a 2017 MacBook Pro 15 with Touch Bar and I have been testing out many recent Windows laptops including the 2017 models of the Dell XPS 13 (regular and 2-in-1), 2017 ThinkPad X1 Carbon, 2017 Surface Pro, 2017 Galaxy Book, 2017 Spectre x360 13, and others. My thoughts are based on being a frequent business traveler that spends a lot of time in Microsoft Office & Office 365 and the web. I also play some light games like World of Warcraft and League of Legends. Design I really like the design. It's a professional and clean silver aluminum body with a dark interior that makes the key lettering pop. The hinges are sturdy and fairly firm to minimize screen wobble. Fingerprints tend to show up on the inside in the keyboard deck area, but are easy to wipe clean. The rounded edges of the body make it easy to carry and nothing digs into your hands. It weighs under 4 pounds, is thin, and very easy to carry around or toss into a bag. The fit and finish is excellent. Display The laptop comes with a 15-inch touchscreen at 1080p resolution. It looks good and I think is still an adequate resolution for this screen size. A higher resolution would draw more power and I don't think the tradeoff is worth it for a mobile device. Plus, there is less of a chance of running into Windows text scaling issues. While it doesn't have the thinnest bezels, they are still quite slim and look good. Light bleed is a little more noticeable on this model versus the 13.3 inch model I also own. Text and video are both clear and HDR is supported. The panel is pleasing to look at and is plenty sharp for standard use. Input devices The 3-stage backlit keyboard has a good amount of travel, is relatively quiet, and is easy to type on. My biggest gripe with it is the fact that functions like volume and screen brightness are not the default action for the function key row. I checked the BIOS and there doesn't seem to be a way to enable these by default. The touchpad glides well and makes a satisfying click. It supports gestures and tracks accurately. The device includes the S Pen that slides into the case which is very convenient so you always have it with you and you don't have to worry about figuring out how to attach or secure it to the device like other similar devices. The S Pen does not require batteries and while thin, provides a good mark-up experience. Having used the Apple Pencil and new 2017 Surface Pen, I find it works just as well as those two for casual use. Ports 2 USB 3.0 1 HDMI 1 DC Power (1.5mm) 1 USB-C that supports charging and display port - Note - I use the Apple USB-C to HDMI adapter to charge the device and plug it into my monitor with one cable. 1 Headphone/Mic combo port 1 micro SD card Audio There are two downward firing speakers on the bottom of the case that get loud enough. The audio is clear, but there is a distinct lack of bass that is common in most laptops. They are fine most casual use, but not as good as the newer MacBook Pro models which have amazing audio. Performance A quad core i7-8500 powers the device and I have not run into any issues with daily tasks. It scored a 4883 on the single core and 14691 on the multi-core Geekbench 4 tests, which is on par with the 2017 MacBook Pro 15's i7-7700HQ processor. There are switchable integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics which are ok for light games, but you are going to have to turn details way down to achieve a decent frame rate. It also has a 2GB Radeon 540 dedicated graphics chip that helps run a bit better (about 50% more powerful than the integrated Intel chip) and both have no trouble driving my Dell 34 inch ultrawide monitor. The included 16GB of DDR4 RAM and SATA 3 256GB SSD are not upgradeable. Wireless performance is good and uses the Intel 8265 card. Bluetooth 4.1 works as expected. Battery Life Battery life is just ok. It has a decent sized 54Wh battery and gets about 6-8 hours of casual use with battery saver on. It's not quite as strong as competitors in the early stages of ownership, so I may need to dig into the power plan settings to see if I can make some tweaks. Since the device can charge over USB-C, a portable power bank is an option to help augment the battery. It is worth noting that the 54Wh battery is a bit on the small side when compared to other 15 inch machines, but it also does not have to drive a 4k screen. Webcam The front facing 720p webcam can best be describes as serviceable. It's fine for web conferences, but it's not going to win any awards. Windows Hello facial recognition is supported and works very well. Heat & Fans The device gets warm towards the middle back when under load, but the keyboard and touchpad are still comfortable to type on. If you are doing some heavy processing, it will get warm on your lap. The fans are not audible doing normal tasks, but do ramp up if playing a game or other processor intensive tasks. I was not able to detect any coil whine (the bane of every Dell laptop I have used). OS/Bloatware The device ships with Windows 10 Home and the Creator Update. There is quite a bit of bloatware installed including McAfee, Samsung Apps, and various Windows store games. The first thing I did was clear all of that stuff off. I would much rather have the Microsoft Signature edition install that you typically only get from the Microsoft Store and other vendors like Lenovo, but a little time doing app housekeeping or a fresh install resolves this. Samsung includes an app for driver updates, but it can also pull from the standard Windows 10 update process. For whatever reason, this newer Samsung Update app is not as good as previous versions as I constantly have to remind it what model of Samsung laptop I have. It also doesn't seem to indicate very well what drivers need updates versus what is already updated. I'd much rather they go back to the old version which was simpler to use and worked very well.

Perfect to hookup on TV and USB CD DVD, and a harddrive. So far it works way above my expectations best computer I have bought! The price was good to I got a opened box in excellent condition.
