I've owned this laptop for about a month now and I'm loving it. This laptop has everything I could have asked for. It starts up in seconds even with the face recognition. The backlit keyboard is a blessing in low light because I don't have to squint to see the keys. I like being able to change the settings for how I want to use it in tablet mode. I can choose to either hide or show the taskbar. I want the same view in both modes. On a full charge I average about 4 hours before I need to charge again. The sound wasn't the best on Standard (default), so I changed the Audio in the Samsung Settings to Movie and it's so much better. There are 4 different choices including Auto Mode. Play around with the setting and find what works for you. I could go on about the features, but I think you get it. Thanks Samsung for a job well done.

I really wanted to wait for the 8th gen 4 core Intel chips to be available for more laptops but my vaio pro crapped out and I was forced to by one now. That being said, I am more than happy with this machine. The display is beautiful for 1080p. 16gb ram, dedicated graphics card(not a 1050ti or anything but much better than the onboard Intel graphics) , i7, quick charge via dedicated port and usb-c, unbelievable s-pen functionality, light weight, sleek aesthetics and it's a 2 in 1 to boot. All for around $900 is a freak'n steal. I purchased mine "open box excellent certified" and it was flawless when opened. It comes with a 256gb lite-on sata 3 ssd but can be easily upgraded to an NVME ssd. I had a 512GB Samsung sm961 I got a good deal on that was just sitting there waiting to find a good home. Popped it in, Bios read it as nvme, and got me 3200 read 1600 write. Battery life is decent considering the specs. I got around 7 and a half hours with a few hours of video playback, browsing, Ms office apps and light photo editing with the screen around 70%. Only thing I wish it had was thunderbolt compatibility. But I can't really complain for the price. I highly recommend this well balanced laptop for anyone looking for a go-to daily driver.

Coming from a Surface Book, I was looking for something that would have the latest tech without breaking the bank. The specs on this laptop are not only an improvement to my Surface Book, but works well for my needs. Kabylake 7th Gen processor, DDR4, latest AMD Radeon dGPU, and more. The 1080P screen on this unit is terrific, and because it is 1080, the battery life is great. Also, the colors pop and work perfectly for work in Adobe Illustrator. The keyboard is very good, with nice travel, and the back lighting is also excellent compared to some models. The trackpad worked well for the time I used it, though the right click needs a little extra force - this might just be my unit but does not bother me as I have a Logitech MX Anywhere 2 mouse that I use. Build quality is also very nice and should hold up for a long time. I especially like the darker color finish of the unit as it separates itself from competitors and looks like the Space Gray color from Apple. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone looking in this category. This Samsung is certainly one of the best laptops of 2017.

    Great Overall Laptop

I spent weeks looking for a new laptop that was able to do everything that I wanted, including some gaming. The NEW 2017 version of this laptop is great and includes touch screen and an S pen. The screen is unfortunately not 4k and the battery life is not very good. The laptop is very fast and will turn on and wake up from sleep in seconds. The only major issues I've had is that the computer does run a little warm and the Windows Hello feature only works about 50% of the time. There is also no 10key/ numeric Keypad. Becareful where you read reviews as well since the older model does not have touch screen and is not as nice. Overall, this laptop is amazing and I would definitely recommend it. It's worth the price. This review is 6 weeks after purchase.

I could list tons of reasons for this device. -One of the brightest and crisp screens I've had the pleasure of working on (brighter than most laptops). Although the display is just 1080P, I don't see a need for 4K on a 15" display. -Battery life is excellent, last for days, on light use. Often can sit in my bag for a week and still have good charge (doesn't leak/bleed energy like some devices). -Built in Radeon Graphics (haven't played games to test this but nice to have). -i7 processor + msata SSD (almost want to ding Samsung here for using msata instead of m.2, as msata, while still really fast, does not have the access speeds of m.2, which to be honest, most people in normal use will never know the difference. This only comes into play if trying to game possibly, which I don't on my laptop. Or using CAD/engineering/music/movie/editing software. -It has a Pen that stores on the front so you can take it out and write on the screen anytime. -Light weight, fast. This is my favorite laptop I've ever owned. I'm coming from HP Pavilion X360 and Envy x360 (i3 and a AMD variant). The i3 was one of their mid tier and could see the pixels and wasn't nearly as bright as this display. And the AMD is an upper end model with a crisp screen but the brightness isn't there and generates a lot of heat. Gets hot after 5-10 minutes of use. If you have the money and want a fantastic device for all work, this is a great device.

I had a samsung 15.6" ativ book for nearly 4 yrs and was pretty happy with it. Hard drive started failing so this was an obvious next choice. Love everything about it. Sometimes I miss that extra border room for my lap but on the flip side I love the slim profile and light weight build. I'm getting used to it. Face recognition is great. I wish it had a fingerprint reader too as I feel like eventually most websites will have you sign in with that vs password...as they're doing that on phones/apps now. So far it's fast and I have had no problems with it since getting it 2 months ago. Sometimes gets hot but I usually have a blanket on so even though I try to keep air to it, I don't all the time. I do wonder how the keyboard area surface is going to wear. I had an ASUS with this type of feel where my wrists sit and the mouse which eventually showed wear and the top layer wore off. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen here 'cause that makes things ugly. The speakers could be better. They're not overly loud. They are on the bottom of the computer so not sure if that's it or with the slimness only allowed for what they put in, quality wise. Keyboard and mouse feel good, as expected with the price. Screen is also fine. Only wish is it went even dimmer for using the computer in complete darkness. The power button is slightly inconvenient for me. I accidentally hit it since I'm not used to one being there. Boot up/restart time is impressive. Benefit of a SSD. I also hope samsung stays on top of windows updates as that was an issue with my previous samsung. Windows would update but the drivers weren't always compatible. I usually manually update and do some googling before going through with them as they roll out.

There weren't any reviews other than you tube comparison videos. I purchased it upon release and am very satisfied with my purchase. This a very quiet laptop with a sleek and sophisticated look. It has more features than I can fathom at this moment. Every day I am learning something new about it, and the personal assistant is just awesome, especially when you haven't learned how to get to certain features. The battery life isn't as great as I would like it to be, and I often feel as if I want to connect it to some Bluetooth speakers at times. Overall, I absolutely LOVE my new baby. It functions much like my Samsung Galaxy Note Edge phone, and I am very pleased. I am a HUGE Samsung fan, and I am glad that they made this particular move with this particular laptop.

Was in hunt for a touchscreen business laptop. Started comparing this to the HP Envy I was so set on. I sacrificed the number pad on the keyboard to go with this and I am so glad I did. Effortless, powerful, great battery life. No complaints. Love this laptop.

I am a transcriptionist and so I spend hours on end daily, weekly, monthly typing. I take my computer purchases very seriously. I don't need a computer with a lot of bells and whistles, but it must be reliable, dependable, great internet stability and have a comfortable keyboard for extended "high speed" typing. I spent hours pouring over which laptop would be my next purchase and finally settled on this one. The keyboard is perfect. The keys are not "clacky" and noisy, yet there is enough ability to "press them down" that I can easily keep track of where on the keyboard my fingers are resting and if I have successfully hit the right key, hard enough to produce a letter, yet not so hard that I have to slow down to make sure I didn't hit it twice. The only drawback in my opinion is that this laptop does not have a 10-key pad, however, I obviously knew that going in and made the decision that it was something I could live without. So I can't hold that against the laptop or Samsung itself.

I am upgrading from an ACER ultrabook that was horrible, so anything would be better than that. However, this laptop has been perfect so far. Keyboard types well, looks nice, relatively light, fast, etc. The only issue so far is the battery life is not as good. Otherwise, great laptop.

This laptop is amazing! It's very fast, quiet, and doesn't have a much of bloatware to bog it down. The price is right for what you get, IMO. Especially since I was considering a Macbook Pro 15", which this laptop has the same specs for over $1000 less plus some additional goodies! My old laptop, also a Windows 10 device, even though it booted very quickly, was slow to load programs/apps, but this one is so fast! And the screen is GORGEOUS!!!! It proves that 1080p has plenty of life in it (frankly, I think 4K is overkill for laptops anyway). The touchscreen is super-responsive and the S-Pen is glorious to use. But I plan on getting a Bamboo Ink pen since I like using Photoshop for digital painting and the S-pen will cramp my hands after some time since it's so skinny. Overall, I am so glad with this laptop so far! After the last couple cheap ones, this one made me nearly cry with joy at its speed and beauty of the screen!

    Best Windows Laptop I’ve Used

I needed a Windows laptop for some of my college classes where a MacBook Pro with Parallels wasn’t cutting it. I knew I wanted a powerful laptop with ultrabook features. This laptop fits the bill. It’s fast, has a long battery life, and the 16gb of ram and dedicated graphics have come in handy. It has a dedicated charging port, but it also charges via USB-C, which means I only need to carry one charger in my backpack. If you’re looking for the MacBook Pro of Windows laptops, this comes very close. I only wish the screen resolution was higher.

Dedicated card took a little configuring to get it working with applications. The GPU will not just kick in, you have to go into AMD settings and turn it on per application you want to use. Laptop a little glitchy here and there, not sure of samsung excessive bloatware or just windows 10. Works for me, windows ink is awesome, wifi is awesome. USB c is convenient, and the screen looks great.

I tried a couple before settling on this Samsung model. Best features: fast processing of everything. Intel I-7 is great, SSD hard drive makes booting, shutting down, starting apps, finding files - everything - super-fast. Great display quality. Lightweight for easy portability. Touchscreen works well. I have not done any testing of the battery life. Only thing I still wish for - a 10 key numeric pad. But I can get a USB pad for those needs. Heartily recommend this model.

I have been hooked on Samsung products lately. With Toshiba laptops no longer available, it looks as if Samsung will be on my list of top products for quite some time. This is a great machine & is perfect for my business. I usually spend about $900 on laptops. This is the first $1,200 laptop i’ve Bought, & I have no regrets.

This thing is light and has the feel of a Macbook. The display is beautiful, the battery life lasts me most of the day as long as I don't have anything out of the ordinary draining all of my power. Even the backlit keyboard doesn't seem to have too much impact on the battery life. I really like the facial recognition as well. I'm very happy with my buy. Time will tell about it's lifespan though.
