The Bots are taking over!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Skynet controlled vacuum is great. As long as it doesnt get aggressive its welcome here in my house. All kidding aside this is a great vacuum. This is my first automatically controlled vacuum and I really like it. We have dogs, and of course dogs constantly shed so its great to be able to pick up all that hair, not to mention how fun it is for dogs to chase it around as it cleans up after them! The vacuum has a lot of power, surprisingly so. You would think something like this wouldnt be as strong as a standard vacuum but it is. Another cool feature is how it auto adjust the suction power based on the surface its on. So it can go from your carpet to the hard wood floor and it will adjust its power accordingly. The Wi-Fi connectivity and Powerbot app makes it a lot of fun to remote control as well. Its like having a radio control car and vacuum combined so your having fun and cleaning at the same time! Having trouble getting your kids to help clean because they are always on their smartphone? Well this should solve that. Tell them you have a cool new game you just discovered. Its called "Powerbot". They can stay on their phone and use the Powerbot app to help vacuum as well. They will have no excuse not to help. You can also schedule specific times for it to run as well. It has a run time of up to 90 minutes which is plenty for me, and when its done it it will automatically return to the charging station to charge. I wish more of my devices could charge themselves. Maintenance of the vacuum is very easy as well. When the dust bin is full you can empty it with one button. Then cleaning of the dustbin and filter is as easy as running it under water. Then reassembles easily. And when you want to give it a more thorough cleaning the brush , shutter and driving wheels arent hard to clean either. The brush and shutter are removable for cleaning, and the drive wheels can be cleaned out with a pair of tweezers to get all the gunk off. The entire cleaning maintenance takes about 10 minutes if that, then your back at it. Or more accurately your personal cleaning bot is back at it. Its crazy how far technology has come. So overall this is a great way to vacuum, and not to mention fun as well. The convenience of self cleaning, self charging, a powerful suction, and overall coolness factor make this a great choice. Highly recommended.

Smart Vacuum for everyone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Samsung POWERbot R7070 is impressive robot vacuum. I has three suction power levels; quiet, normal, and turbo. I use quiet mode when my family is at home, and its noise level does not bother much to my little kids. And I set it to turbo mode when I schedule a cleaning while we are out from home. I have no complain about its suction power as I don't see much difference compare to my upright vacuum. Using Alexa to control or schedule a cleaning is very useful feature; I highly recommend setting it up with Alexa if it's available. Setup is not as straight forward (I would blame Alex app for that), but youtube video is very helpful. Basically Samsung SmartThings skill should be enabled in Alexa app. One of my favorite feature is that it shows the cleaning map after each cleaning. So even if I am not at home, I can check the map to see if any part of the house is not cleaned. Very useful feature. If I will have to pick the best feature, it would be its ability to self-clean hairs; It never rolls into the brush; I don't need to use my hands to take the hairs out as it cuts the hairs; How wonderful!! For this reason, I would recommend PowerBOT R7070 over lower end models. Overall, it is a fantastic product, and I would highly recommend it to everyone interested in buying robot vacuum.

Best RoboVac I have tried
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This piece of tech is amazing. Just to think of all the AI involved is crazy. It maps out the room and I would say gets 98% of everything if you have obstacles like table legs and chairs in the way. It is somewhat large so it limits its ability to get into tight places but overall does a great job. This device is going to help save time for those who aren't home and don't want to hire a maid service. Take vacuuming off the list of chores! Build 5/5 This vacuum is built like a tank. It has some weight to it. Aesthetics are typical Samsung with beautiful design and elegant material choices. The vacuum brush is rubber so it picks up more than a brush would. It has a wonderful wheelbase that allows it to go over different heights of floors like tile, linoleum, hardwoods, etc. Connectivity 4/5 This is a true smart device. It syncs up effortlessly to the Samsung Home app. It also has a remote which uses IR technology. The only things I would like implemented is Alexa and Google Assistant integration. It seems there is a newer version called the VR7000 that has Alexa integration. Good thing to see. There is "chat control" which allows you to text the vacuum and provide commands. Functionality 4/5 This vacuum offers tons of options to clean your home. Of course, it doesn't go up stairs yet, but one floor is easily handled. You can schedule it to vacuum when your not home, when your sleeping, when you are home... basically whenever you want. This is done through the Samsung Home app as well. You also can manually control the vacuum remote control arrows. Awesome features. It even returns to charge itself when done. Vacuum Power 3/5 This vacuum is still not as powerful as a typical upright. The motor is decent and fills the dustbin but I still get a lot using my normal vacuum. While this is good, it will not replace your powerful full sized vacuum. I would say this is a nice to have not a replacement. Battery 4/5 The battery life is pretty much enough to do one floor. The cleaning pattern this vacuum uses is somewhat like a lawn mower approach. Back and forth one way and then it goes back and forth perpendicular to what it started with. It is a cross pattern and cleans thoroughly, but this is what uses all the battery. Final Verdict 4/5 This vacuum is wonderful but not for everyone. I can see this for more of a niche market. Still priced high as a market leading vacuum that starts with a "D", if you are home and don't mind chores this isn't for you. This is more for business people and those who are gone and would like to at least have clean floors while away. At this price point it won't make it to every household. So, it is a buy if you are into "nice to haves" but not for everyone.

Good product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live close to a well traveled road, so have a lot of dust accumulated and need to vacuum constantly and I was really looking forward to this helping out. Unfortunately, a couple days of use, it stopped working altogether (it updated, paused occasionally while vacuuming one day, then just stayed there the next). Samsung support was very helpful and after a week long stint (including the shipping to and from a repair facility), it has been operating quite well. Positives: - Suction (and the amount of dirt etc it collects). - Scheduling - Strip to prevent it from going to places you don't want (not available on smaller model) - Alexa integration Improvements: - Needs a bright room in order to navigate around (uses camera sensors to "look" at the ceiling as part of it's mapping tech). When I started it from a bright room, it finished in a second "dark room" and could not get back to its base to recharge. - Stopped working (perhaps it was a glitchy update?) Conclusion: It collects a lot of dust and I don't have to think about vacuuming. Compared to it's smaller sibling (7040), it doesn't seem to get stuck in places and definitely picks up a lot more dust. It would be nice if navigation did not rely on brightly lit rooms to function properly (although they do mention this in the manual). It is very concerning that it stopped working without explanation and while Samsung support was excellent, if it were out of warranty, such an event would be extremely costly. It is a good vacuum, but my experience with a new product failing causes it to not be excellent.

Good vacuuming robot with a promising future
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As noted by the TIN label nearby, I was given this unit free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review. Let's dispense with the pleasantries right out of the gate. If you think that you're going to get a Jetsons-like robot with this vacuum (or, likely, any other present-day vacuum made by any other manufacturer), you need to tone down the expectations. Don't get me wrong -- the device does a reasonable job of cleaning, but it's in the details of a real, non-square room with folks living in the house that is at issue. What I mean by this is that the unit uses a camera on top, essentially scanning the ceiling, for its main ability to deduce an itinerary for the room. As such, if you have an object that extends beyond the side of a wall -- such as at an angle based on the cleaning direction that the vacuum has set course -- it will interpret that object extension as a wall, per se, and may miss vacuuming an entire swath of the room in question. Therefore, for maximum floor coverage, you need to remove all objects in the room that are near walls. Another note: with a piece of furniture in our kitchen -- a sofa -- that extends to about 1 inch off the floor, the vacuum initially had an issue with it, in that the vacuum continued to try to press forward on its itinerate path without sensing that it really couldn't go any further. We had to reset the machine's course for it to move on. The bottom line of these negative points is that, while the vacuum does bump into objects and will reasonably well adjust its course and move on, it really needs 360 degree sensors -- maybe one on each side of the vacuum -- to really "see" what it's doing. On the other hand, the vacuum had almost no problems at all finding its way underneath furniture -- nor at the bottoms of cabinets with enough space for it to maneuver -- and then finding its way out from under furniture. I thought that was pretty impressive. Further, the vacuum has three speeds and was able to vacuum, per se, at least as good as any other vacuum I've used -- including certain uprights that include a ball and whose first letter begins with a "D" (not allowed to mention competitor names!) -- and reviewed. In the event that the vacuum becomes "confused" with what it's cleaning (meaning that it's not meandering a correct path through your room), you can pause the device, lift it up, and place it in some other directionality. However, if that does happen, it will think "home" is where it was unpaused and if you press the remote button to go back home, it will do its best to return to wherever it most recently started. I haven't yet tried the scheduling feature, so I can't comment on that -- partially because we have to have a room where our cat won't attempt to get rid of hairballs on the floor! -- and it doesn't appear that Samsung has released their iOS app to control this device, so I can't comment on that, either. Do I think this device is worth its MSRP? Only if you first declutter whatever room you intend to run the device. Other than that, while it won't replace a human vacuuming (and certainly not mopping), it'll definitely cover a decluttered room in reasonable form in the event that you're busy doing something else and a room has to get vacuumed. Overall, it's a good start for a device at this pricepoint, but I think that some hardware changes for sensors are definitely in order.

Lifesaver for a New Mom
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a new mom, I absolutely love the Samsung POWERbot™ R7070! Right out of the package, it has been so easy to use. I opened it right away and it was set-up and ready to use within 15 minutes. I let it run for a few minutes to see how it would work. It is so smart and rarely has issues. My husband set-up the Samsung POWERbot™ R7070 to operate when we are away from home using the Samsung Smart Things app. I come home every day from work to a freshly vacuumed house! The Samsung POWERbot™ R7070 works well with both my carpet and laminate floors, and the edges of the laminate are even clean. I have four rugs in my house and the robot has never gotten stuck on them. I do have to try to keep things picked up from our baby and dog, but that's much easier than vaccuming! Before I had the robot vacuum I was cleaning every 3-4 days. Since getting the Samsung POWERbot™ R7070, I have only vacuumed once in four weeks. I used the Samsung POWERbot™ R7070 in spot clean mode after visiting a pumpkin patch and tracking in dirt. The robot had the mess cleaned up in minutes and I never had to get out our large upright vacuum. The dustbin is very easy to empty. Because I have a large dog and a baby, I run the vacuum daily and empty it once a day. It collected so much dirt and dog hair with its powerful suction. It takes about 30 seconds to put it up, empty it, and pop it back in. I love the Samsung POWERbot™ R7070 and love that it has made life so much easier for this new mom! Powerful and Quiet!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the PowerBOT R7070 for about 3 weeks now and I really love it. It has 3 suction modes, quiet, normal, and turbo. Quiet is great if you want it to run while you are doing other things in the house and want to be able to to hear without turning things up too loud. Normal is what I use most of the time as it is not that much louder than quiet and the suction is much better. I don't use turbo that often because it cuts the hour battery life practically in half. The PowerBOT is really good about getting right up to the edges of walls. I like that it can dock itself if the the power is low mid vacuum then recharge and go finish what it left. The app is great, I use it more than the remote. It is great for pets and has worked well with my 2 pugs and husky. I do wish it had a cliff sensor for stairs but that is not a huge deal. I received this at a reduced price for an honest review as part of the Insiders Program.

It's a robotic vacuum...it works!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the most advanced robotic vacuum I've ever seen! It does everything on its own, or you can sit back and control it from a mobile device. It even automatically cleans any accumulated hair off the brush rotor! Add to that the fantastic battery life and wonderful cleaning power, you can't go wrong with this unit!

Awesome!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum is awesome. Does a good job with corners and getting under the bed. The entire canister can be cleaned with water...comes apart easily. It's shockingly quiet. Don't have Alexa so don't really care about that. The Samsung app could use some improvements...but it does work. The cleaning seems way more methodical than a Roomba. Cleaned a 1500sq foot area twice before having to recharge on the quiet setting...and did an amazing job. Would with out a doubt buy it again

Great product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally was not sure I wanted to try the POWERbot R7070 - after all I had previously had a Roomba and a Scooba and wasn't impressed with either's cleaning ability. I ended up giving them both away and stuck with my Dyson. Reluctantly I decided to give a robotic vacuum another chance and I am very glad I did. The POWERbot is fantastic and I like it better than the Dyson. It is a real vacuum and does a great job cleaning. You can run the POWERbot a number of different ways - by pushing a button on the unit itself, by using the remote, by using an Amazon Echo or by using the Samsung app. While each method works well, I prefer using the app, as my phone (an S9+) is always in my hands. The app was easy to install and very easy to use. The suction power on the POWERbot is incredible - to test it, I vacuumed a carpeted surface quite thoroughly with my Dyson. Then to be sure I got everything, I repeated the Dyson cleaning. Then I ran the POWERbot (or should I say I turned it on and it ran itself). I was shocked to find that the POWERbot picked up quite bit that the Dyson missed. Wow! Even though the POWERbot has a sort of magnetic tape to prevent the POWERbot from going down stairs, I decided to test it by vacuuming an upstairs hall without the tape. No problem at all - the POWERbot simply avoided going down the stairs. The POWERbot has three different suction levels - quiet, normal and turbo. Turbo of course is the strongest, but loudest. However, I did not find the turbo mode to be noisy at all so that is what I use. Battery life is excellent - the cleaning is done while the battery has plenty of charge left. And keep in mind that when the cleaning is done, the POWERbot re-docks itself and charges. This is not a toy, but rather an excellent vacuum. As I indicate in my title, we do not have pets and one shouldn’t assume this is just for pet owners. It is for people who want clean carpets and floors. And that is what you get when you have a Powerbot R7070.

New helper
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my Powerbot R7070. At first, I compromised between R7040 and R7070. Because R7070 has double power than R7040, I decided to get R7070, and it was a smart choice. Compared with my old “classic” vacuum, Powerbot does an excellent job. I thought my house was clean when my old vacuum didn’t pick up anything after work. However, with Powerbot, I was surprised where all the dust was coming from. Since I got the Powerbot, I turned it on every day for a week, and dust bin gets full every time. Another thing I like about the Powerbot is it picks up dust at the edge which I had to use handheld vacuum before. Now I can spend my time for another thing since the Powerbot automatically runs and returns to the charging dock by itself. My little boy also have “a friend” to play with since we can’t have pet. Thanks, Powerbot.

Samsung even gets the basics right
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Samsung - POWERbot R7070 App-Controlled Self-Charging Robot Vacuum - Satin Titanium The Samsung - POWERbot R7070 Robot Vacuum is a very interesting home appliance. On the one hand it has features that you will start to see more of as we move toward the IOT (Internet of Things). That includes Wi-Fi connectivity, Amazon Alexa compatibility and Samsung's own Smart Home App. And as typical of Samsung there is also full control on the actual front of the vacuum and they even includes a remote control. Take your pick on how to run, schedule and talk to this robot vacuum. It can be as simple as pushing a play button to checking on its status from almost anywhere you are. This type of control is going to be more common and Samsung is already a leader with there other connected appliances. And yes these features all work very well. The smartphone app supports both Android and IOS. Its full featured and will also control your other Samsung connected appliances if you have any. It is easy to talk about the advanced connected features but what about the how well the vacuum works. In my experience there is mostly good things to say. First it’s very easy to care for. The dustbin pops out of the top with the push of a button and is easy to keep empty. It has an air filter that is easy to remove. Samsung also provides one replacement. I was especially happy that the cleaning brush can be removed. No belt drive on the cleaning brush to fight when your untangling all of the hair my main vacuum requires. So all good so far but now to how well it actually works. I have wood floors and some large rugs throughout my house. To test I cleaned my floors both with my main vacuum and also used our Swifter liquid cleaner mop. I wanted to have my floors as clean as possible to test what else it might pick up that I missed. So on the first run after a full charge it ran for around one and half hours. During that first run it got hung up on a rug in a small half bathroom. Can’t blame the vacuum for that as you do need to pick up the few items any vacuum would have trouble with. I fixed it and pushed the play button and it continued on ending back at its docking station just exactly how you would want it to. And it found a lot more debris than I expected it to. There are several options on the pattern it uses. I had it set to the most detailed pattern it supports. So now that I had very clean floors it was time to try the remote start. Before leaving the office I set it to go again. When I got home it was in the middle of a small room just sitting there and it wasn’t stuck on anything. It just ran out of battery and never made it back to the docking station to charge. That is a fail. The good news is I was again surprised on how much debri it picked up. This is a fairly large vacuum. It clearly has the power to keep your floors clean. It can be as simple as pushing a button to start or you can setup the remote app and do the work anytime from almost anywhere you are. I don’t know why it ran out of battery in my initial testing since I didn’t watch it and it wasn't clear why it didn’t make it back to the docking station. In my later runs it has docked as expected. In other robot vacuums getting back to the docking station wasn’t always a sure thing. But feature rich and very capable it easily passes that test.

Quite With Impressive Cleaning Ability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.he Samsung POWERbot R7070 Pet Robot Vacuum cleaning ability is impressive on both carpet and bare floor. It picked up most of the debris on the first pass; Any remaining debris was then picked up on the second pass of the vacuum. It did not leave any marks on the furniture legs or cabinet bases The low height allows it to easily glide under furniture and beds. The shape of the vacuum with the straight front end allows it to easily clean in corners, something round machines cannot do. Another unique feature is the lack of side brushes that either wear quickly or disperse debris into the carpet. The suction from this vacuum is powerful and is able to completely remove tracked in dirt and grit from the carpet. I especially like the easy to remove rubber roller for cleaning and to remove any trapped hair that may be wound around the roller. The dust bin has a large capacity and is easy to empty. While the motor is very powerful it is also very quite and cannot be easily heard from just one room away. This is where the PowerBot WiFi connection to the Smart Things app on my cell phone is useful to see where the vacuum is or control it without walking upstairs to check. Programing is very simple I had my PowerBot up and running in just minutes. I especially like the ability to control it from the included remote control and or via my cell phone by use of the Smart Things app. On this app I can see a map of what areas were cleaned and check the status of the vacuum. I can also send it out for cleaning in the house remotely. The PowerBot is able to navigate and clean in the dark and avoids falling down the stairs. It comes with the charging station, remote control the robotic vacuum.

This bot delivers!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am reviewing this robotic vacuum as part of the Insiders program. Let me start by saying the Samsung POWERbot R7070 is not my first robotic vacuum, but this is the first robotic vacuum that gets the job done! This vacuum does exactly what I purchased it to do and I spend less time vacuuming while enjoying cleaner floors. PROs: Pet hair is a thing of the past! I have a miniature pinscher and his tiny, black hairs were everywhere. This vacuum sucks up all his little hairs and my long hairs. It even gets into the corners. The self-cleaning feature is awesome. I have had to clean all the hair that collects around the brush of traditional and robotic vacuums at least weekly. Every time I clean out the bin for the R7070, there is nothing to clean. The suction on this bot delivers and the proof is in the bin. I can see all the dust and hair it picks up, and the suction really makes it to where I have to vacuum a lot less freeing up time to do the things I want to do. The Samsung SmartThings app is useful. You can review the history to see the area and times the robot was cleaning. It also works as a remote, allows you to start it when you are not home, and lets you schedule an automatic cleaning schedule. I constantly have people in my house leaving stuff all over the floor. The vacuum is able to sense these items and clean around them. I was extremely impressed how it learned how to go under the dining room tables and cleaned much better than the teenage boys in my house. CONs: When I first purchased the vacuum, the SmartThings app did not work with my non-Samsung smartphone. The app did have an update two days ago and it works perfectly now.

Fascinating
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, my disclaimer. I was given this product to give my unbiased opionion. I admit that I was curious how this would work in my house. My house is old, small and cluttered with chairs, doorways and different floors; carpet, tile, hardwoods and rugs. You have to remove obstacles. That's a lot of trouble in my house: dining chairs, desk chairs, dog bed, water & food bowls, etc. I downloaded the app and found it to be problematic with staying connected to internet. Pretty much worthless as a remote tool because I have to be home to allow the ibot to run, given the obstacles. I put it on the charger (has to be against a wall, near an outlet, with 1.5 feet of clearance on two sides and 3 feet in front) and sat down to register it on line. I realized that I needed the serial number off the bottom. When I picked it up, it began making sounds and the rollers were turning. I immediately put it on the floor. It went right back an climbed on the charging station! It is smart! Bottom line, it does clean where it can reach. The suction was good. It is quiet and entertaining to watch. It was very slow and ran out of charge after an hour of bumping around various rooms in my home. I would not purchase this, nor recommend it to anyone who has much furniture or many room, and hallways. I could have vacuumed my whole house with much less effort in an hour. The filter had to be emptied frequently. The good news is it went under my bed and came out with dust that had not been touched in years. The bad news is, it got hung up under there and I didn't even know where it was. Not for me!

I like it so much I bought a second one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought my first Samsung R7070 Pet Robotic Vacuum earlier this year and didn't know what to expect as it was my first experience with a robotic vacuum. The initial set up was easy and the remote was simple to understand. I had a few little hiccups with adding it to my existing Samsung SmartThings account and Amazon Alexa, but with those it just needed a little time to show in the accounts. I have two dogs that shed a lot and was concerned the vacuum wouldn't be able to tackle it. To my surprise it worked as well as the upright vacuum (or better, because I set it on repeat to go over areas more than once). One dog who runs from the upright vacuum is unbothered by the PowerBot. I find the turbo setting best for serious cleaning, quiet mode is great for a touch up if I recently vacuumed. It moves from tile to rugs with ease and even goes under beds and couches if clearance is high enough and you don't hide everything under the bed. I did need to use carpet tape on the corners of the rugs that slide across the floor as the vacuum would either curl up the corner trying to get over it or push it around. This has made the chore of vacuuming more enjoyable as I read my email while the PowerBot does the work, only stopping it to clear the dog hair from the collection bin occasionally. All in all I was so pleased with the vacuum that I bought one for the second floor as well.

Great for non-carpeted floors

App works okay with Apple better with Android. The permissions for Android are questionable but so is the life of Android devices. Pro: Does well on tile floors Great on hardwood floors Power last awhile Control with Amazon Alexa Con: Not so well with carpeted flooring Power goes down 1/3 from tile/wood floors Keeps going back to the charging port, thinks it's full Overall this unit is good for residents of hardwood, vinyl or title flooring.

The POWERbot R7070 Pet Robot Vacuum has really made a huge difference in keeping the pet hair under control on both the carpet and hard wood floors in our home. It easily reaches areas that I cannot with ease. Set up is super easy, app and connecting to internet were seamless. So happy we welcomed the POWERbot into our home.
