My Great new Housekeeper!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought my Samsung 7070 robot vacuum after researching it and seeing it working at a friends home. I have all tile or wood floors, and they have never stayed so clean. Great suction. I just turn her on and let her do her thing. No problems, and continues to amaze me. Should have bought it sooner!!

BETTER THAN ROMBA
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had several Rombas. The batteries didn't stay charged. This is very easy to clean. It takes minutes instead of the 1/2 hour to clean the Romba. The Samsung has a bit of trouble finding the charger. It finds it, but only after a very long time of inching its way home.

Very good suction, bad navigation
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most other robotic vacuums merely suck up minor dust and don't really replace a real vacuum cleaner. Not this one. The suction is really strong, which is adjustable with 3 levels. It comes with a handy remote. Others will make you pay for disposable filters. This one is washable and comes with a spare one so you don't have any downtime. Very practical. On the brush, there's something that slices hairs so it won't get clogged up by pets or human hairs. There are some downsides though. The navigation is lousy. Even with the app, you can't just turn it on and do its thing. We came home and found it on our living room dead as it couldn't make it back to the dock. It's quite loud at its maximum power. We love its suction but the navigation is a big issue though. The whole point of this is that you can just turn it on and not worry about it. It failed on that and that's why I knocked off 2 stars. Typical Samsung, good hardware but poor software.

cleans up the dog hair!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing to watch how it runs about the house and finds it way back to home base. On its first run it had trouble completing a small piece of carpet where the dog lays, but after a few days the whole piece was done...Had lots of hair. Did the whole kitchen and family room area in one hour, and maneuvered around the chairs effortlessly.

My son loves it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for myself but my 17 year old son locks it in his room and won’t let me use it. When the floor needs vacuuming my son use it and then he puts it back in his room. He thinks its his little robot or something. Its really cool..

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.love this little guy! Does great picking up cat fur from carpet and tile floors. I don't use the wireless function to control it, like to be home when it is running but that is just me. House has a lot less cat fur flying around since I purchased this.

A little disappointed
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this while it was on sale at half price. I had seen several positive reviews so I decided to get it. I was pleased with the power but a little disappointed with the navigation. It does a great job on carpet and floors, I was actually pretty surprised how much it actually picked up. It wasn't as loud as I had thought, even on turbo mode, and the clean and resume feature works great (when it worked). The dust bin is a little small but I never had an issue with it getting full. On the navigation front, it doesn't follow any specific pattern, it just seems to navigate with ADD. You can see on the map that it criss-crosses paths and actually ends up leaving a few missed spots. It seems to spend a lot of time "thinking" around objects and corners. It tended to do fine for a bit then stop and go to a random location and start cleaning there, sometimes leaving the room completely, then come back. It would do some areas 3-4 times upon it's return, like it had forgotten it had gone there already while the rest of the main areas were only passed over once. That was ok to deal with since the vacuum was only meant to maintain...the real problem was when it ran low on battery. Even though it creates a map of what it's cleaned, it would forget where the dock was. When the battery goes low, the suction stops and it begins a search pattern by always going left then following the wall in a clockwise pattern. Objects in its bath would just confuse it and it drove around like a drunk robot, staggering and holding on to the wall. Of all the times I ran it, only two times I was able to get a successful job out of it. Most times it just died after not finding its dock and the job would only be half complete. My Roomba on the other hand just stops and drives directly to the dock. The thing that I hated the most was the app. I think Samsung does a terrible job working with Apple products. I couldn't register the vacuum from Safari and the app (on iPhone) rarely connected to the device. Smarthings would just sit there thinking and thinking. I wouldn't open nor send updates to my phone. The app was also very lacking in features and information. It didn't upload all maps when the job was complete and when it did I could see that it missed whole rooms completely (the series of rooms it was meant to clean was in a "U" shape and I would get an "I" or "L" shaped map). When it would go into a room, the path it would take would be influenced by the angle of the first object it came in contact with, i.e. the door. The path in the room would then be at an angle and would then get confused when it got to a wall (eliminating the great edge cleaning capability). I understand that Samsung is a competitor to Apple but the customer experience is more important than petty intercorporate spite. This experience really makes me question whether to go with Samsung products when it comes to "smart" products at home. By comparison, my Roomba has seamless connection, intuitive app with plenty of information, parallel cleaning paths with some nice overlap, only misses the end of the job when it gets stuck after closing a door, and always returns to it's dock on the first attempt. Needless to say, I will be returning this product and spending the money on another Roomba for the ground floor of my house.

Samsung - POWERbot R7070 Vacuum Robot
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great well designed and built vacuum robot. I have had many other brands which did alright for a while, then they seem to get unfixable issues. The Samsung however is very robust and has many great design features such as App control or remote, speed choices and edge cleaning. It always seems to find home for self-charging.

Gets it done, but could be better
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I think of robo-vacuuming, I think of not only the ability of the device to move around vacuuming the room on it's own, but also it's ability to finish the entire floor effectively without user intervention. If I have to watch over it too much, I might as well vacuum the area and be done with it. The PowerBOT serves up a decent offering in the robotic vacuum foray. Upon opening the box, you notice that the vacuum is very well built, has good sturdiness and weight, and has a very straight forward setup. The instructions are pretty thorough, but setup takes little knowledge to get this thing vacuuming in a jiff. The next thing I noticed was the addition of a second filter. That's right, someone out there believes the consumer deserves to continue operating their device while cleaning (or drying) a dirty filter - and not have to buy one. Nice touch by Samsung. The charging unit is pretty hefty, and that's comparing it to other robotic vacuum cleaners I have used. There is still little difference from the others in this sense: it will sit in the corner somewhere in the room. Well, I started the PowerBOT up in quick-start fashion, and off it went. I put it to the test immediately by going straight for the carpet, and a room I hadn't vacuumed in over a week at that. Off it went picking up dust and particles like any vacuum would, but very powerfully in comparison to other robot vacuums. This thing has decent suction, so much so that it will fill it's dust cup rather quickly in certain situations. One thing I immediately noticed was even with the good suction, the vacuum was much quieter than others I've previously used. Samsung boasts 40% better suction, and the PowerBOT seems to pretty admirable. The only things it appeared to have trouble with were average sized flat items (like flat candy wrappers, certain paper pieces) and pet hair. I think the suction/brush opening may be the culprit, but it sometimes took an additional pass or 2 to pick up clear peppermint wrappers. The pattern the PowerBOT uses is displayed on the LCD panel located on the device. My room had a bed, furniture, and bench. It navigated the room decently, but it had trouble with furniture legs that aren't completely straight. It consistently ran up onto the legs of the bench in the room as well as the corners of the nightstands, causing it to get stuck in a couple of cases. The PowerBOT appears to use IR sensors almost religiously. Previous vacuums I have used had responsive bumpers that prevented such behavior - bump and move on. This means there are cases where you can return to the room to find a stopped device and an unfinished room. If you don't run into this issue, it does a great job. The PowerBOT does have some neat features. It can be set for spot cleaning (cleaning a controlled area), it has wifi connectivity for smartphone control, and it has a pretty decent remote. Out of these, my favorite feature is the manual remote feature. You can take control of the vacuum, maneuvering it around the room using joypad controls. This is a very cool feature. Going back to the cases where the vacuum didn't quite get the job done, which sometimes we have to re-vacuum spots in the floor with push vacs, you can manually take control of the unit to go over areas multiple times, if need be. Once you stop consistent control, the current program continues. Very nice. Occasionally, I had some inconsistencies with gaining control and relinquishing it, and I didn't like the fact the remote needed a clear line of site to the vacuum. All in all, this was a great feature. Overall, I can recommend the PowerBOT. Primarily, because of its powerful suction and features. I do feel it should need a little less supervision, especially having had success with cheaper robot vacuums finishing the entire room stated above, with no issues. It may be possible to update the firmware to fix some of these issues; I'm not sure. Even with the issues I experienced, I see it as a good option for most people.
