It worked great on tile but it struggled on carpet

As for the total runtime of a fully charged battery is around 60 minutes depending on it's terrian that it has to cover and takes about 3 hours to fully recharge the battery. Your POWERbot R7040 knows when to return to the docking station when it's battery level is getting low so it can recharge itself. Once the battery is fully charged it will resume from where it left off before it went back to the dock to recharge the battery. It has a very nice selection of 3 speeds for the motor which controls the suction and it's very powerful in all three of them. The POWERbot R7040 has an navigation system that is by far surperior because it uses a 120-degree side angle camera. This camera scans the ceiling, finds corners, fans and lighting to aid in it's positioning and then uses that to navigate the robot so it will know where to go and where it has been. It uses bump sensors to avoid obstacles within it's path and doesn't have any problems. It easily gets into all spaces and under the furniture just as long as it can fit into those areas. It works great on bare floors because it uses a edge clean technology that gets everything by the baseboards and corners. Spot Clean feature is great to have with so you can direct the robot directly to that area in which needs to be cleaned. The POWERbot comes with a remote control and also a mobile app you can download for WiFi control from your cell phone. There are so many features that some people will be overwhelmed with all of them. You can: Set a schedule that will start, stop and pause a cleaning cycle Force the robot to recharge Use the Samsung mobile app that allows you to sync your robot to your home network, gives you the same controls as the remote but with the app you will get a map of the areas cleaned, battery level indicator and the option for voice control in which you can integrate Alexa for use with the Amazon Alexa devices and Google Home. The voice controls are simple and have the same basic controls as the remote. Also the POWERbot itself has controls on the vacuum which you can use to do all of the programming, cleaning and scheduling right on the robot without using the remote control or your voice As far as the maintenance on the unit is quite easy because you only have to: Check the filter as it's easy to remove and it's machine washable and reusable Check and empty the collection bin because it will need to be cleaned out regularly Check the brush as it's easy to remove and clean the bristles Only draw back in my opinion is if you have a dog that sheds really bad then you need to empty the collection bin a lot as it will fill up really quick. Also you have to clean the roller bristles much more as the hairs will wrap around it. Other than that I would highly recommend it!! Not good if you have pets. Small hole for dirt to enter catch and clogs up very fast with dog hair. We received 2 of these for free with our appliances and we don’t even use them

Uses for 2 days ...did a horrible job and just kept running into the walls and couldn't even find its home base even in an empty room.. wouldn't recommend this to anyone

First when this does work it's pretty good. The problem is there is a design defect in the bearing for the brush. I have replaced the brush 6 times now for $30 each and the brush is perfect but the bearing seizes. Worse is when the bearing seizes it affects the motor and the belt. Just do a quick google search on this and you'll see it's a widespread issue. Very very disappointing!! Ended up buying another brand because this design defect won't just go away and Samsung will not fix it. Stay clear and buy something else!!!!

This was great for the price (free with applicances). I wouldn't pay much more for it. It is a novelty, but tends to get stuck on uneven surfaces and doesn't do a thorough cleaning job.

Your better off going with an iRobot Roomba over this. The app wouldn't sync to the vacuum and it didn't clean very well

I really like this vacuum. I have used another robot vacuum and this one has better suction by far. It is able to pick up fairly large items like gum wrappers. The bin is easy to empty without spilling anything on the floor. It is quiet enough that you can have it running while you are in the same room. If you have a large area to clean it will go back to charge if needed, then resume the job. You still need to use a conventional vacuum to get corners and baseboards but it is so nice to turn it on, leave, and come back to clean floors. You may also use an app to access the vacuum remotely if you want to turn it on when you are away from home. For the most part it is able to maneuver well. I have a 1/2 inch lip on a section of my hardwood floor that it can get over without any issues. Most area rugs are also no problem though I have a small one that it would not go up on. I do wish that it had built in protection to prevent it from falling down the stairs, but you can purchase a separate barrier for this purpose. Overall, it has made life easier and I love it and would recommend it.

Broke within two months. They did fix it but even when it works it scratches the floor. It’s always full. Just terrible. Useless

The bot was easy to set up. I have a Samsung galaxy s7 and had the app already installed. Also the remote is fairly easy to operate. The one complaint I have is that there is only 3 directions to control. Also the vacuum is quiet unlike a normal vacuums. So it's great to set up to clean in the middle of the night while you sleep. When you unbox the bot you must first plug it in to charge. Place it in an area that it will easily be able to maneuver where it needs to go. Make sure you don't have a lot of stuff on the floor especially when you first set it up as it needs to map your home or the area it will clean. I have hard wood flooring and it works great.

My first impression of this is that it is awesome to have clean floors with very little interaction. My family has been a little more motivated to keep the floors free of clutter, and without having to get the broom out, we have been "floored" by how clean our house has been. I have had to help it get free of the bondage of a few chair legs, but that isn't really a big deal. My biggest problem is what seems to be a flaw in the design of one of the switches on one side of the vacuum. After a week of use, it was giving a sensor error that I couldn't clear until I took the thing apart. There was no obvious obstruction, but it appears that the plastic that presses the switch was just a little warped and holding the switch down. I really only flexed it a few dozen times before it would stop holding it down. I haven't had any issues for the last few days, though, so it could have been an anomaly. Easy to set up, and it is really cool to get a report map of where it cleaned every day.

Purchased this when it was on sale. It kept getting stuck. Seemed to go wherever it wanted in random direction. I ended up taking it back and buying a Neato.

Not much to say with this one. I have used 5 year old dumb Roombas , that randomly bump around that cleaned better. I used this in my office for a week. My office has very few obstacles and strait square rooms. This Samsung could not even effectively clean a hallway. Left debris everywhere. The maps it produced did not resemble a room shape. Do not waste your money with this one. A old second hand robot bump vacuum will perform better. Samsung should be ashamed of this.

It was very simple to set up. Once charged the vacuum is able to clean 2-3 medium sized rooms at a time. It runs out of battery within sixty minutes usually. The remote is easy to use, and so is its wifi function. We have a pet in the house and it picks up hairs very efficiently. Emptying the contents of the vacuum is also very easy. Being a very small vacuum, it will not pick up objects larger than a quarter, but that is expected. Overall a very good product.

Purchased the vacuum last year. It died right at the one year mark. Started making a horrible noise. I replaced the brush, which was on back order for over 2 months thinking this would help with the C01 error. No luck, now I have a $400 vacuum that no longer works after a year.

Total junk. We have 3 robot vacs. 2 Neato's which are years old. An Iroomba which is pretty good. And this Samsung piece of junk. I tried it in our living room and the path it mapped made no sense. Missed many places. So I put it on our hardwood floor in the kitchen and family room. I sat and watched it. Nonsensical cleaning route and missed spots everywhere. Do not buy!

It ran good for 3 months then stopped charging and turning on sent it back to Samsung less than a month later same issue sent it back not even a week later broke again I'm am waiting over a month to get my refund back from Samsung and they are giving me the run around. Horrible

I bought this and then exchanged it for the more powerful model which is excellent...the extra power is needed.
