Nope Not Again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thought it would be a time saver but only good if you have plain flooring or wall to wall carpeting. I have to take up all the small rugs I have on my first floor which is hardwood so definitely would buy a cordless vac and be done. Didn't realize most of my rug were not completely flat so this is sort of a hassle to have to keep taking up prior to using sweeper. Ideal for some homes but not mine.

The future of cleaning has arrived...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cleaning "Robots" have been around for a while but I haven't had the pleasure to use one until now, and now is probably the right time to get into the cleaning robot game as it seems the technology has advanced quite a bit. As I always like to talk about the uboxing experience this one doesn't disappoint with a cool new plastic air cushioning system that looks like it will keep things safe in shipping, handling in stores etc Once all is opened all you need to do is find a suitable place for the docking station that is also proximate to a plug for charging the POWERbot. There is an included remote control and an app you can download from either google play or the Apple App Store. While my POWERbot was charging I downloaded the app and attempted to connect to the unit with my wifi etc as per the prompts in the app. It took a few try's to get it connected to wifi and the app, operation of the unit with the app was a little wonky and it would lose the connection at times but thankfully one doesn't need the app and can just use the included remote, I'm sure Samsung will update the app to get it right in the near future. Now to the magic! This thing is nothing short of remarkable how it starts off leaving the base station and methodically starts on a path to clean your home. Obstacles are no match for the POWERbot as it avoids anything in its way and maps it so it remembers there is an obstacle there for next time. The transition from hardwood floors to carpet is seamless and the wheels on the unit are SUV like underneath to insure nothing will stop it from its cleaning task. There are varying different cleaning powers (and subsequent noise levels) and you can just have it clean your home as you sleep which is so fantastic. I haven't linked it with Alexa but the POWERbot is Alexa compatible which is also a neat feature. Lastly the way it cleans in corners is an absolute marvel to see. Overall this is the solution you need to automatically keep your house in tip top shape with the latest in robot technology.

Great Robo Vac
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First Robot Vac I have owned, the vac works fantastic. I won't lie, the Android App I can't even get to work just like other reviewers have said. Samsung Smart Home (app) only worked on some old Android phone I had laying around. It DOES however work in the Samsung Smartthings (app) which I already have for home automation, so I was able to work around that issue until they fix the other app. Besides the software lacking, the actual vac itself appears to be quite good. Good suction for what it is, and I have a 2200 sq foot house, takes 3 times on a charge, but I think it is still mapping out my house. Good intelligence from what I can tell so far. Not to noisy in my opinion either even on max mode. Should have knocked off a star for the app, but the vac is really good so I will let it go and I am sure they will fix that (I hope).

the worst Samsung product I have ever had
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is useless, absolutely bad, Samsung's customer service is lousy, I do not recommend it, I will not lose your money buying this, I had it for almost 1 year and it never worked well for me. I sent it 4 times to the samsung warranty department and it was never resolved.I swap it for a dyson vacuum cleaner which is amazing

Great mid-range robot vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First impression when you receive parcel, it’s big, heavy and sturdy. I already had robot vacuums from different other brands, so first impression on build quality feels better. One issue could be that the look of the PowerBot R7040 is quite distinctive, which make him stand out when placed in a place where you can easily see it. Other robots have more discreet designs. Depending on what you are looking for this can be a pro or con. Setup process: Setup up out of the box is not only quick and easy, but thorough. It took less than 4 hours for the PowerBot R7040 to fully charge. The boundary markers are quite easy to apply, but I didn’t use them and have also never used them with any other robotic vacuum. Setup of WiFi and SmartThings integration is easy. Alexa support is also great. Use: The first time you use it you will be surprises on how truly quiet it is compared to conventional vacs as well as other robotic vacuums. While the cleaning is going on you can carry on with your other activities, no need to leave the house. After the run is completed, empty of the waste bin was straight forward. Suction power of the PowerBot R7040 is excellent and better compared to the competition. Running in a house with furniture can be an issue. The PowerBot R7040 handles most obstacles pretty well, however it can get stuck or jammed during its run on objects which are low enough to not be seen as a block, but high enough to get stuck on it. Conclusion: It’s a great mid-range vacuum. It’s not a five-star vacuum, there are more advanced models, but for this price you can’t go wrong. Spending double for a few extra features are not really justified in most cases except you really, really need one of the extra features.

It really works!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was unsure about getting a 'robot vacuum' until reviewing what this unit had to offer. I have to say that I am very pleasantly surprised with its performance. This sucker really sucks up the dust. I've kept it on the low suction speed since it does well without having to kick it up to the high suction speed. The unit takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour to cover our main floor, but usually manages to fill up the onboard dust bin before that. It cleans under the beds, under the coffee table, under the side table, under the kitchen cabinet overhang, and so on. It does well on all surfaces throughout the house, transitioning from wood floors to thick rugs to tile. It also pauses when it reaches the edge of a wall -- and gives it a good extra cleaning. I've now come accustomed to 'setting it loose' once a day. The house has never been cleaner. And all with no effort. Go robots...

Finally a 'smart' Vaccum
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The samsung power bot is truly am amazing piece of technology. Mighty suction provides maximum cleaning benefits. Improve the cleaning coverage as this robotic vacuum cleaner is able to navigate my home with simplicity, avoiding furniture and other obstacles using it mapping technology. It is able to get to the edges as well using advanced shutter that stretches out to catch particles trapped in corners and edges of the wall. i had no issues with it's cleaning capability, battery life or usage. It’s also a very nice looking device. It has the potential to collect deeply embedded dirt, pet hair, food and other particles similar to any normal high-quality upright vacuum on any flooring type. The samsung mobile app pairs seamlessly with the device and you can control the robot from anywhere by using the app. I am very impressed both by the technology and the cleaning power.

Powerful robotic vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Samsung Powerbot R7040 has quickly become a favorite in our home. The runtime of the battery is 60 minutes per charge and has a recharge time of just over three hours. The motor is very powerful but when you have more rugs and carpet in your home the battery will be drained a bit faster. The POWERbot R7040 will return to the docking station when the battery level is low and recharge itself. It will resume from where it left off after the battery is fully charged again. The POWERbot R7040 has an excellent navigation system. The primary navigation method is with a 120-degree side angle camera. The camera will scan the ceiling, finds corners, fans and lighting to aid in positioning. Using the information from the camera, the robot will know where to go and where it has been. It then uses bump sensors to avoid obstacles like furniture, table legs, toys etc. I was afraid that it would not be easy for the robot to navigate our floor plan because of the furniture and transitions between tile, carpet and hardwood floors but it doesn’t have any problems with that and it easily gets into all spaces and under the furniture. With three modes you can control the level of power. The robot does the best job on hard floors. With the edge clean technology the baseboards and corners will look great and stay clean. The Spot Clean feature is great to have with messy kids because you can direct the robot directly to the area that needs to be cleaned with high suction power. The POWERbot comes with a remote control and you can also download a mobile app for wireless control. You can set a schedule of sorts, start, stop and pause a cleaning cycle and force the robot to recharge. With the Samsung mobile app you can sync your robot to your home network. The app was a bit difficult to connect but after that it is very easy to schedule cleaning times and change cleaning settings. When using the mobile app you will have the same controls as the remote but you also get a map of the areas cleaned as well as a battery level indicator. There is also the option for voice control. You can integrate Alexa for use with the Amazon Alexa devices and Google Home. The voice controls are simple and have the same basic controls as the remote. You have also the option to use the local controls on the POWERbot itself. You can do all of the programming, cleaning and scheduling right on the robot without any help of the remote control or your voice. Maintenance is quite easy. The filter and collection bin need to be cleaned regularly and I just empty it out after every cleaning cycle. The filter is machine washable and reusable and very easy to remove and to replace. The brush is also easy to remove in order to clean the bristles. Overall, I love how easy it is to set up the POWERbot, how easy it is to navigate and how well it cleans our floors with no complicated controls. Highly recommend it! Thanks to the Insidersnet.com for giving me the opportunity to review this robotic vacuum.

The bottom broke
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had it a little over a month and it was great for the first few weeks but then I noticed the roller/brush was disconnected from the base. After checking closely the yellow hinges under the vacuum that holds the roller in place had broken on one side. I would like to know how to get a replacement part or a replacement vacuum.

Not Terrible but Not Terrific
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those looking for a simple answer to the question "Do I think this is worth $X amount of dollars?" No or not at this time. In depth answer is no and yes. Starting off the open box experience starts off good. The box is heavier than you expect, think similar weight as a full fledge stand up vacuum. Once you pop it out of the box you can see Samsung put a lot of care into the packaging and wanted to make sure everything arrived safely. Once you get the unit out and set it up for me is when the pro's and Con's become clear. First, the setup process is easy enough, hook up the charger into a wall and give it plenty of space. Then start the app to sync it up. I was a little heart broken when I noticed my Samsung Connect App on my new S8+ said this wasn't compatible yet..... which they are both so new so I won't hold a grudge on Samsung for this. After you sync it up with Samsung Smart Home it's ready to go and simple enough. Which actually leads to one problem I didn't like the app seemed weirdly to simple. What I mean by this is I was hoping the unit would show me what it maps out. It doesn't which is unfortunate because the maybe 30 minutes of run time leaves you wanting more since it takes 30 minutes to get out of my kitchen and that's if it actually gets out of my kitchen. Do keep in mind my house is 1500 sq ft so not terribly big but if your home is bigger you might need a flock of these things everywhere to make them worth it. Now the points I will give it is that when it does get to the dirt or my carpet it does very very good. Getting up stuff I can't even see until I'm tossing it away. I have no problem with suction on this unit but finding the dirt is hard for it. Last thing that drove me to a 3 star rating was the fact that when it finished and I would reach down to get the container to clean it out..... It had someone shot quite a bit of the container all over itself so I would have to clean the bot every single time. Simply robot vacuums could be the future but we might need to wait a bit longer for the better ones to come around or fork over double or triple the cost to get one that meets your normal vacuuming needs. Hope this helps

This is cool!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum is amazing! It cleans very well and gets smarter the more you run.The three of the key features of this vacuum is the fact that it can connect to your WiFi network with the Samsung Smart Home App, that it can return to it’s charging station on it’s own, and that it can be scheduled to turn on and go on it’s pattern at the same time every day. I honestly didn’t think that it could return to its station, but I was gladly proven wrong. It’s amazing to see the little robot finish it’s job and store itself. Scheduling can be done with the remote control and powerbot. The one thing I counted on working was the App and unfortunately, that was a total let down. The performance of this robot vacuum was great. The area that I placed it in is the carpeted room that gets the most traffic.I highly recommend this product for people who may not have time to clean a frequented area often. The powerbot has a feature that easily takes care of cornered areas and it works as advertised. schedule the powerbot to clean while you are out. It’s not too loud, but you can hear it working. If you don’t plan on using the app, then you are going to love this. It also states it can work with an Amazon echo, I have ordered one and will test it out. I want to make my house a complete smart home, this powerbot is a great addition. The price is up there, but it is worth it for such an amazing tool. There are expensive vacuum's on the market so this is no different, you pay for quality.

Work smarter, not harder
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one amazing vacuum cleaner. Mind you, it won't replace your upright, but it's great for keeping things looking good during the week. Just program it to start at a given time, and by the time you get home from work your floor will look great. This thing has some pretty impressive tech inside. There are sensors galore. It won't go down stairs, and when it detects walls or corners, it spends a little extra time to make sure all the crud gets picked up. According to Samsung, it even maps out your room from the get go to figure out the best route to take to cover the whole area. I've owned robot vacs in the past, and one complaint I had was that they get stuck, either under things or when going onto carpet from hardwood. So far, my POWERbot R7040 hasn't gotten stuck even once. That's because it has large wheels that lift up when needed to clear obstacles or make the transition to other surfaces. Samsung made it super easy to empty the dust bin. It has a washable filter to help you keep suction at its best. And it can controlled using the remote or an Android or iOS app. This is a highly recommended product, especially if you have pets that shed. We have a Husky that seems to shed year round. The POWERbot R7040 is great for keeping the fur at bay. Lastly, I compared POWERbot R7 with other brands, and this little guy is less expensive feature for feature. Works well, costs less--what's not to like?

The worst
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely the worst vacuum I’ve ever bought. We had one of the first rumba’s that came out and loved it. Decided to go with Samsung since everything we have is Samsung. What a mistake! This vacuum leaves stuff on the ground and gets stuck causing it to die everywhere. If I didn’t miss the cutoff I’d return it!

Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product overall is great! For this vacuum, I love just about every part of it. The only negative part is sometimes it doesn’t intelligently clean a room. I give it four stars with the last part above making it a 4 not a 5. The first aspect is just easier to manually control rather than use Alexa and Google Voice Activation in my own opinion. If you like that aspect then go for it, I just found it more convenient to let it do its thing with the regular setting or control it myself. The wifi connectivity was perfect and the instructions were very clear and worked. The self-cleaning brush was pretty easy to disassemble (easier than most vacuums) and I liked having the ability to wash it off. The suction power was very good but not perfect. It missed a slight part on corners and near walls but does just about everything else so that is a small concern. The edge master feature lets it clean really really well near edges but it misses a hair of distance between the wall and vacuum but that it do be expected with any type of vacuum such as this one. Overall, it didn’t really disappoint me and is a huge convenience and does a lot of things well.
