Ha, Ha! Because that's what this vacuum looks like rooming around the house. It wonders aimlessly, occasionally bumping into things while trying to find it's way around the room. It's pretty entertaining to watch, although that defeats the intent of letting this thing save you the time of casual cleaning around the house. All joking aside, the vacuum works pretty good for basic cleaning on our hardwood floors and area rugs. It's short enough to wonder under the sofa, chairs and entertainment center too which is convenient considering these are hard to reach areas with a normal broom. The fact that I only have to turn it on and walk away is great, although I was a little nervous when it approached the stairs. The sensors stop it though and typically stop the vacuum from hitting walls and furniture. When it doesn't though, the vacuum does hit things. My only complaint is, I wish it didn't hit things so hard. So far it hasn't scuffed any thing yet with the rubber borders but I'm still paranoid. Hard to say if it's worth the price point. For me yes. For others maybe not. I think it depends on how much money you're willing to spend on convenience (aka: being lazy).

I have a Haier robot vacuum cleaner but the PowerBot is leaps & bounds better. Pros: - Very strong suction - Brush roll agitates the carpet to get the dirt out - Very methodical cleaning pattern. No area left behind. - Navigates very well around objects - Edge clean really get into the wall edges Cons: - Smart phone app setup is confusing - Dust container is very small. Will need to empty it out every 1-2 days

I usually don't read the manual until after I play around with a new product but for some reason I had to grab it on this one. Very cool to product to have. I have a dog that sheds so this thing helps me. I love how you can control from your phone. Also setting up scheduled times is cool. I just don't like the cleaning of the brushes. But I guess there's no way around that. Yes, I would recommend this product. The convenience is unmatched.

We have responsibilities divided between me and my wife and vacuuming the house is one of my responsibilities. And I would vacuum the house once every month or so. We have been looking to buy the robotic vacuum cleaner since our son was born 3 years ago. But always decided not to buy looking at the price. Then, ‘The Insiders’ gave me an opportunity to buy Samsung Powerbot R7040 at discounted price. So, I am reviewing item as an ‘Insider’ and it doesn’t bias my opinion about the product. Here are my thoughts about this product: I will start by admitting that like everyone, my house might go without vacuuming for weeks. Let’s admit it’s another chore. But everything has changed since we got the Samsung Powerbot R7040. Its our 1st robotic vacuum cleaners so I really can’t tell you guys how it is compared to other similar products in the market. My house has carpet floor in all the rooms and dust and hair easily accumulate. This bot has 2 modes, normal mode and turbo mode and of course I used turbo mode. It cleans really well. My carpet has never been so clean in years. Very first time you might need to clean the bin before it fully cleans your house but after continuous use, u don’t need to worry about it. I really like the ‘edge cleaning’ technology, which cleans the edges very well. You will only know the amount of hairs stuck in your carpet (believe me, its ton) once you start using this Samsung Powerbot R7040. This product has also got my 3 years old excited as he cleans up all his toys from the floor just to watch this bot cleaning the house. He even plays with it and shouts often, “Papa, look, bot is cleaning the house”, and sometimes it’s an evil monster for him and he tries to shoot it down with his toy gun. I have been using this bot for almost 2 months’ now and I have to say that I am very much impressed with it. It’s turbo mode does consumes lot of power but it does the job splendidly. And once the charge is low, it automatically finds its way back to the charging dock and resumes after its charged again. The pathfinding on this robot is great, and I find myself following it around the house marveling at the fact that it seems to know where it's going. I am yet to try many features of this bot and I will keep updating my review as I keep it exploring. The only suggestion to buyers is that once you receive your robot, make sure you charge it completely and start connecting with wifi and Samsung Smart things app afterwards. I wish I bought it sooner.

Purchased the Samsung Powerbot to help keep up with the daily cleaning. We have 4 girls and 1 cat with long hair. Hair accumulated everywhere. The vacuum arrived well packed and easy to set up. Everything was assembled, only needed to plug in to start charging. It works best in open spaces. My house is small and cluttered. It takes a while for it to work it's way around the dining room chair & table legs but it eventually does. It moves better once it gets into the kitchen, hall and living room. It's a little larger than I expected so it can't make it in-between the legs of chairs, around toilet or side of tv stand. Still need to touch up smaller areas another way. This is great at what it is able to reach. It finds it's way around the house and anything left out/on floor. Great to keep up on daily cleaning.

We have a somewhat complicated path between our floor layout and furniture. Going in I expected the robot to have some trouble navigating but it has done a fantastic job. The only spots it misses are those it cannot physically reach. Not sure how it does on carpeted areas as we have hardwood flooring everywhere. It does a great job cleaning up the hardwood though. Two ferrets, two dogs, and two cats create a lot of animal hair buildup. The vacuum is doing a great job of helping us keep up with that!

I am loving this Powerbot robot vacuum! It has made vacuuming my home a lot easier which is a great enhancement to my cleaning routine. I can turn it on and rely on the Powerbot to vacuum up my living and dining areas while I clean other areas of my home. I run it every few days and it is nice and quiet. Its awesome how it starts detecting the areas of your home and knows where it needs to vacuum. I wish there were more robot appliances available to help with cleaning like the Powerbot!

This little robot is a game changer! My floors have never felt or looked so clean! I use it daily and somehow it still manages to fill up the dirt reservoir each time with debris, dust bunnies and cat hair! My cats were terrified of it at first but now can remain the same room as it! My only complaints: -a bit loud -the app is worthless. The only thing it ever does for me is send me an alert to place it on a level surface. -it does die on me and never makes it back to its charger. -we do have one threshold it continually gets hung up on. Otherwise, I am in heaven. What makes this so much more effective than my upright is it gets underneath all the sofas and chairs that I can't easily reach. It therefore gets a much more effective clean every time.

First, I must say how much I love the design of this vacuum. Its sleep and looks nice having it out eventhough it is a vacuum. Setting up was easy and once it was charged I gave it a go. I LOVE how you can actually see how its cleaning the carpets. It leaves nice lines showing where it's been. I love the automatic time feature where I can set 2 different times where it will automatically start going. We have 5 pets so going 2x a day is so helpful! The only thing I'm having issues with is it returning to its docking station. It will sometimes but other times it ends up being stuck somewhere so I'm assuming it was on it's way and it got stuck and died. Other than that it's an amazing little robot. Now I want one for our rooms upstairs.  

I have been using the Samsung Power Bot R7040 for about a week now as part of the insiders campaign and these are my thoughts. Initial setup of the powerbot is pretty straight forward. The smartthings app was a little tricky to get it connected but once it was it is very simple to schedule cleaning times and change settings. I love that you are able to create and set cleaning times as well as change the speeds right from your phone. On day one I had docked the powerbot without setting up the app or remote. Later in the evening as soon as it was fully charged it decided it wanted to go on a cleaning spree all on its own. The next morning I set up the app and was able to review the mapping, which showed that it was zipping all over the place with no sense of direction. Over the course of a week it has learned and become much quicker with the daily cleaning and "Rosies" daily map is much more consise. First run took about 30 min to do our entire downstairs tile flooring. This is also a place that is full of toys randomness and lots of furniture to maneuver. Rosie is now a pro cleaner and does a very good job keeping up with the kids & furbabys. The Samsung Powerbot is a great addition for anyone that needs a little extra cleaning help. It is quite powerful, very fast, and has reasonably competitve pricing with other brands. One thing to note: If you live in a two story home, this model does not include boundary markers. I was not going to attempt to do an upstairs carpet cleaning for fear of it tumbling down the stairs. The battery life on the regular cleaning mode is perfect for cleaning large areas. However for turbo cleaning the battery does drain quite quickly, it isn't a huge issue though because the bot will return to the dock recharge and then pick up where it left off.

Great vacuum and out lasted every other robot cleaner we’ve had. Can’t seem to find any other models out there.

For what the Samsung Powerbot does I like it a lot but i would only recommend to owners that have hardwood floors Good and Bad Good: - Great on hard wood floors -love the self docking option -programmable cleaning schedule come back to a clean floor. -it seems like its MORE aware of objects or walls.. does not knock into this TOO much -didnt fall off stairs Bad - hard time pick up coins and little bigger items. also issue with tissue plugging up machine (yes TISSUE) - had a lot of issues wireless connectivity. app doesnt work on rooted devices - struggle with carpet cleaning.. (not recommend if you have carpets) - you have to move it up stairs if you want it cleaned. -doesnt get all the edges. Still need a vacuum to clean tight areas.

I've always been a bit skeptical of robot vacuums. I never saw the value in them, especially considering how expensive they can be. This Samsung has definitely changed my mind! It's extremely easy to setup and connect to wifi, it even works with Alexa! The vacuum runs on auto once you tell it to start. It goes all the way around my house and only stops to charge. Then it immediately goes back and picks up where it left off. I can run it on a schedule, control it from my phone or even tall Alexa to turn on the vacuum! The battery will last so it can run through my entire 2 bedroom 1100 Sq foot apartment without needing to charge. I would have thought that it would get stuck under the bed, but it has never rotten stuck, not even in the bathroom or closet! This little robot is definitely worth the money, no more time wasted vacuuming for me!

We all were really excited to try the new Samsung powerbot . We tested it all room, from carpet to hardwood floor. We really enjoyed the speed and in depth of cleaning. Unfortunately, after a few days, we noticed scratches on our freshly painted base boards. though it was a bit of a minus, we still really like to clean with the Samsung as our kids are really lazy to vacuum in the old-fashioned way. It’s easy to use and can be maneuvered around with remote control to get all dirt collected. On its own, Samsung powerbot may miss a few bits , but that's minimal. It worked extremely effective on hardwood floor and collected all. We have two cats and deal with lots of pet hair and well as human hair (two long haired ladies). Samsung robot took care of all in a really short time. The funniest thing is, when he finds his home to recharge...just adorable. since the vacuum is not noisy all, our pet are not afraid at all. As pet mamma, that's a huge plus point for us. My kids think, it’s the coolest thing we own and take turns to vacu

I was very interested in the Robot Vacuum as both a time saver and a way to keep the house cleaner. It's been a success for both of these goals. Most of our floors are laminate, or tile, with a couple of bedrooms that are carpet. The Robot Vacuum leaves the dock and systematically covers all of the floor area collecting what I would estimate to be a cup and a half of dust, debris, and cat hair. I only manually vacuum about every 4-6 weeks now because the Powerbot does such a good job of maintaining clean floors. I also think that the cat likes the cleaner floors as well, and think that his grooming is easier now because the floor surface that he spends most of his day on is so much cleaner. I reviewed the Powerbot as a member of the Insiders, and definitely recommend it to help keep your home clean.

Hands down the best "bot" vacuum that I have tried to date. Over the last several years, I have bought a couple of the other brands and they were all ok, but the POWERbot 7040 puts them all to shame. It does an amazing job sensing objects in its way, whereas others would just run into them, the POWERbot actually stops shy of hitting them. The edge cleaner is also very great. We have two cats, so hair tends to gather along the baseboards and corners and the POWERbot had absolutely no issues dealing with the hair. I loved the fact that it took better paths and directions throughout the room. Rather than complete randomness, the POWERbot moves like someone is powering a vacuum. Which, in my opinion, will help get the entire area. Lastly, the Powerbot had no trouble finding its homebase at all, which was an issue that I had with the other brands. I did my best to use the POWERbot as much as I could over the last two months so I could leave an accurate review and I absolutely would recommend it to anyone!

This is my first experience with a robotic vacuum. It arrived and was packaged quite well with no visible damage to the box or inner items. This product looks nice and seems to be built quite well. Along with the vacuum, a remote is included allowing it to be easily powered up the unit and get it started. The container that collects dust and debris is located on top of the vacuum and can easily be removed and emptied. The under edges are covered with thick rubber and prevents it from scraping or damaging the areas it comes in contact with. Initially, I am pleased with the vacuum's ability to collect dirt. In fact, I've run it twice and was rather amazed at the amount of dust it collected both times. I'm still reading and learning about programming the unit to only go to certain areas...or rather to steer clear of certain areas. Both times I've run the vacuum, it has gotten stuck and couldn't progress until it was 'freed'. A definite con of this vacuum is that it is quite loud when running. I wouldn't want to run it at night as it would certainly be loud enough to disrupt one's sleep. I'm also hesitant, at this point, to run it when I'm not home because I'm concerned that it will get hung up, although I've decided to clear the way for it to do its work. I will continue to consult the user's guide and improve my ability to use the different functions available. Although I would currently recommend this robotic vacuum, as I hope to become more adept at programming it and can fully experience how this vacuum works.

Great vacuum for quick daily upkeep. I have 3 labradors, so dog hair is EVERYWHERE. This vacuum helps keep my need to thoroughly vacuum to a minimum; programmed to run everyday while we’re gone. The dust bin is large and doesn’t fill quickly, but dog hair does clog the connection port. It fits nicely under my 3in raised sectional couch, unlike the Bopsweep I trialed in the past. I love the feature of this vacuum that identifies a wall and gradually creeps up to it, ensuring to suck up any dog hair that has collected along the edges of my rooms. The only downfall I’ve found is the vacuum gets lost in the back bedrooms as it ventures too far away from the charging dock and vacuums until it’s dead. Also, the clogging of the connection from the dust bin to the sweeper with the excessive pet hair we have in our house (but still does a great job of cleaning).

This has been an amazing robot vaccum to watch as it maps the floor i mean it doesnt miss any thing perfect straight lines i am amazed. It even knows it doesnt have enough battery to finish and it finds it way back to the charger i am pleasanty surprised. It vaccums very well i cant compare this to another robot vaccum as i dont own any other but this one is amazing i dont know how it could be any better. The charge lasted my tanning room the living room and the kitchen but the tanning room is small so it lasted a long time i kept going back to watch it ahha i relized i was just an aww at it. So to tell you what i think well its amazing works fine the blue lights lets you know its charging has three lines to let you know then it will tell you its charged im still working with it to see it in action i know im in love. Ive used it with alexa and it works with no flaws.
