Just got this unit and have been testing it out. Overall, I wouldn't say that its bad but I'm not sure if its good either. Pros: - Wifi capability allows for control of the unit with a phone and tablet - Battery life is pretty decent - Strong suction power - This specific unit is smaller in height than the other PowerBots by Samsung - Smart identification of edges and the repeat mode adds further cleaning Cons: - There is really only 2 scheduling options which are One Time and/or Daily. Essentially, you can schedule the bot to run one time on the day scheduled or daily on a set time you schedule. I prefer setting up the unit to run on specific days (Mon, Wed, Fri) but it doesnt seem to be able to do this. - No boundary markers and no directions on how to set up boundary. At least nothing that I have figured out yet. - Dust bin is a bit smaller than I originally pictured but that's probably how the units is smaller than other PowerBots Overall, the unit is kind of nice but I'm still a bit at a crossroad with this one coming from a Neato bot vac. Ill give it a little more time before I decide if Ill keep this or not. So far, my expectations have not been met. Updates to come if I find anything new.

At first it was a little hard to use cuz the directions wasnt good at explaining things but once i moved the charger dock to a different area it seems to be working alot better, i love this vacum, i know longer need to vacum and my cats are not scared either, they hate loud noises. I do not use the app so I can't comment about that but it does the job without it. I've had a one from another company \and took it back because the cleaning seemed so random and I'd have to vacuum over it. The Samsung model is wonderful...I feel that it does a great job picking up dust, dirt and pet hair and it's evident by what I empty from the canister. My only issue is that sometimes the canister won't release when I push the button and that can be frustrating. I would like to purchase extra filters though and haven't been able to find them separately.

I received the Samsung POWERbot 7040 model series from the insiders. I love this vacuum very much! I rent and our carpets looked dingy from previous renters and after using this product after three uses our carpet looks brand new! It charges by itself and you can set up times to have it vacuum automatically. The only issue I had was the initial setup. I give this product 9/10 stars!

There is no map available on the app. After contacting Samsung they finally said that feature isn't available for this model. The robot tried to redock & charge after only 13 minutes without completing the job. The good, what if did clean was good. Returned because of the lack of visible map & short battery.

In regards to cleaning this robot is amazing! I love turning it on and not having to worry about cleaning my house, it's very well built and has a ton of capacity for dust, so I don't have to keep emptying it constantly. The only things I think it could be improved are the navigation and the app, In regards to navigation, sometimes (about 50%) it can't find its way back to its base (I did set up the base as instructed on the manual), the Robot gets totally lost. Also, I'm not sure whether I haven't used it long enough, but it has navigated the entire house already, even though that, it still doesn't seem to clean the entire house. I love that it returns to its base to recharge and continue the job, but that does not always work! The APP: the iPhone app is really bad, does not have Siri integration and I cannot see the map the robot builds up upon navigation, which is advertised on its box (I guess that's Android only). I'm an Apple user, so I would not recommend this Robot if you are too unless you don't mind not having Siri integration (I would love to just say "Hey Siri, Vacuum the house!", but I can't!). All in all, it's a good Robot, but it could be a lot better if it navigated more "smartly", which seems like something that could be upgraded by Samsung via a Software update, so I'm hoping they do! Also one last thing, you can't just have this robot, you have to have a normal vacuum as well, to finish off details, this Robot will not catch everything, so you have to clean the last bits where it didn't pass through or edges where it can't reach, so the Robot is amazing to do the general cleaning (and that's good enough!), I only have to help it a few times, not every time. Finally, I'm satisfied with it, and love to not have to clean the entire house anymore, it also catches so much dust that otherwise I would not have cleaned on a day to day basis!

This is my 3rd robot vacuum, but my first Samsung and I’m SO glad I tried this out! It is a great robotic vaccum. The process it uses to map the floors is super impressive- it doesn’t ever miss a spot! And if it needs to charge before it’s done, it knows how to go back and start where it left-off!!! Talk about smart home products- this is a must have for me and my family now. We all love to see the perfect straight lines as it does it’s work. So happy with my clean floors and I also like the size of the dirt basin and it’s so simple to empty and put back in the unit. Great product and I recommend it to others looking for a robotic vacuum.  I am reviewing this product as a part of The Insiders program.

This vacuum has great suction and cleaning power! It gets the fine dust much better than other "neat" robot vacuums. Unfortunately the dust bin is small when it comes to pet hair and it needs to be emptied a few times each cleaning. The remote is very helpful and the app let's you schedule cleanings. We love this little guy!

I recently received my POWERbot™ R7040 Robot Vacuum, and while I'm still exploring all of its features, I have greatly enjoyed the product so far. Having an Amazon Echo Dot, I appreciate that it can work with Alexa and that I can schedule when it should run. The first time I used the vac, I couldn't believe how much cat hair and other dirt and debris it had swept up, just from one room. I guess I needed a cleaning! This is such a time saver. After working all day, I don't feel like vacuuming my floor, even though I know it needs it. This has already led to a cleaner house and I know I will continue to get a lot of use out of it.

Ok, so I was a little skeptical about trying this vacuum simply because I don't have a samsung phone to pair with the vacuum. Also because I've tried another robot vacuum with not much impression made on me. Let me tell you...this has been absolutely great! I have one black cat so I actually never see her hair on anything, and this vacuum has proved to me that there indeed was so much hair i never knew was on my flooring. I have three kids so my floors are messy often, this takes care of the daily tidying up. It's pure bliss. Quiet, nice to look at, I'm pleased.

This is my second robo type vac and I'm very impressed with the R7040. Out of the box it felt solid and sturdy. The holding capacity is large enough that I only have to empty it once a week, and it is very simple to do so. It seems like a small thing, but I love that the wheels move freely which makes is easy to place it properly into the docking station. I had some difficulty setting up the programming to have it clean daily on the unit with the remote, however it was a breeze to set up on the Smart-Things app. I like that I can monitor the actions of the vac with my phone, see the patterns it has moved through so I can gauge how well it cleaned during the day and if need be, start it up again remotely. The movements are very deliberate, it moves in a pattern back and forth so that it covers every area. My old robo vac which was another mfg had multiple patterns and it was not efficient and was not very thorough. The R7040 is also quite intuitive. If it is moving forward and encounters and object, it can maneuver around the object. The only thing I didn't like was that if it comes up to something small it will just push it along. I really like the edge cleaning function. As it moves back and forth in an orderly manner, when it comes up to a wall, it registers to the vac that it is against a wall and seems to ramp up the suction power. Even more important, the front edge is flat so it is able to suck up dust and debris along flat surfaces and corners. My old one was round and missed quite a bit. Overall I am very pleased with this vac and would highly recommend it to anyone. I have pets so I can use all the help I can get picking up hair and dirt and this vac makes my life easier!

This is my second robot vacumn. After I became interested in purchasing a robot vacumn, a friend offered to sell me hers at a reasonable price. I said yes so I could decide how I would like a robot vacumn. It is a good unit but a couple of years old. The Powerbot 7040 is newer with more features. It is easy to use and I love the different suction levels for when a deeper clean is needed. It is also super easy to clean with a washable filter. It has a 60 minute runtime and will dock itself to recharge when the battery is low.

have always wanted a robotic sweeper and was overjoyed when I was offered the Samsung 7040 PowerBot. This works fine when you're trying to keep you floors clean in between your full house cleanings. I let it go on it's way while I was working at my desk. The first time it made a pass through my house it was amazing how much dust and hair it picked up. I guess the whole time I thought I was picking up everything and I really wasn't. It made at least two passes through the first floor and did a very good job of picking up everything on the floor. It took me a bit to get the SmartThings app to recognize the Samsung 7040 PowerBot; it eventually was connected and is working just fine. I like the convenience of cleaning the house while I'm working. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

Got this for free on Black Friday. It worked well. Now the motherboard is fried so it won’t work. At least I didn’t pay for this lol.

I replaced my existing vacuum cleaner with POWERbot R7040 and I am so overwhelmed by its performance. I tried it on the hardwood flooring as well as on the carpet rug and the results are great. It leave the floor perfectly clean and does the job very well. Samsung has proved that it is a true leader by manufacturing this great robot vacuum and it really lives up to the expectations. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and colleagues. I reviewed this product as part of insiders program.

Love this! I am a fanatic w crumbs and debris being on my hardwood floors, DRIVES ME NUTS! Solution? Samsung Power Bot robotic vacuum! YES! Not only does it work, but it works great! Picks up everything and I can just sit back and relax. No need for me to go over what it did bc it works 100% great. I read some people who said the bot doesn’t make it back to the charging port but I didn’t run into that problem. Highly recommend this vacuum machine!

I just got my Powerbot R7040 aka Johnny 5 at my house. I liked the performance of this vacuum. The unboxing was a little clunky getting started. It's awesome the way this connects to my fire tablet and my Samsung phone. I didn't get a chance to auto connect to it due to my 15 yo son competing to vacuum daily. He hates chores but has run this vacuum every day for fun for the last 3 days. It's pretty fun to watch!

Samsung POWERbot R7040 is very impressive robot vacuum. First of all, it is very capable vacuum cleaner. There are three suction power levels; quiet, normal, and turbo. I usually set it to turbo mode as I schedule a clean when I leave home, and is plenty powerful for my own use; 1200 sqft home, two kids, no pet. I think it is as powerful as my small upright vacuum. Two, smart features. Once it's on, it works perfectly with my Galaxy Note 9. I can control every single feature, including checking current status, battery, scheduling, changing suction power level, and history. One very impressive feature is its connectivity; once it's on, I can control and check the status of the device even though I am away from home. I was pleasantly surprised by this feature. Alexa integration is great addition. It can be added as Alexa compatible device through Alexa app. (User has to enable Samsung SmartThings skill in the Smart Home menu; then the robot vacuum will be added automatically.) Cleaning history is another great feature. It gives me a cleaning map through the app; shows the path of the cleaning; very helpful feature as I normally schedule cleaning while I am outside. Overall, I like Samsung POWERbot R7040 robot vacuum. I would like it even more if some features can be updated (through FW update); Trying to list few: - Better if I can turn it on using an app; SmartThings app can control it once it's on. - Would like to have better way to remove hairs

Efficient cleaning route to minimize cleaning time, there is auto mode It isn't necessary for the vacuum to connect to wifi to work, however once connected you can control your vacuum from anywhere at any time and also see updates. The vacuum is extremely powerful for its small size. The Powerbot also returns back to the charger when running low on battery. I really like them!

When I received this in the mail it was very well packaged. It was very simple to unpack and assemble. I like that the dirt canister is clear and you can see how much dirt and dust it is picking up. It has a easy to read screen that will show all 3 bars lit up when the battery is fully charged. The run time is about a hour. I have been using this vacuum for about a week and find it very easy to use. I like the extra time I have to do other things now that I have the Samsung POWERbot to do my vacuuming for me. I rarely have to pull out my heavy, full size vacuum anymore.

We recently picked up our second Powerbot 7040, so that we could have one for our upstairs area which is heavily trafficked and carpeted throughout. The first time I ran this little beauty on the upstairs area I was completely amazed at how much pet hair ended up in the collection container. I had no idea our carpets were that dirty despite our semi-regular vacuuming with a cheap upright. This thing collects so much pet hair, dust, and dander that we have to empty it out every day. We run it once a day on the turbo mode (Which uses up more battery but also seems to do a much better job of picking up pet hair). It has no problems navigating around and through obstacles, and even cleans under furniture. The samsung smart home integration is pretty great too. We have a family hub fridge, and several google homes. Setting up this robot on the wifi was a snap, and we were able to get it to show up for remote control from our fridge, which is pretty cool. It also flawlessly integrated with our google homes... now having it vacuum is as simple as saying "OK Google, Vacuum upstairs". Truly we live in the future! I am truly happy to have these dutiful robot servants cleaning my home, and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a robotic vacuum.
