I walked into BB to purchase last year's Kindle model that was on sale for $125. After talking to that sweet Italian salesman, I no longer wanted the Kindle, but this Samsung Note 8. It was quite a jump in price, and so I went home to think about it and do some research. Returned in two days to purchase the Note, and SO GLAD I did! The staff at BB has been extremely helpful as I figure out all the different features of this device. The two features that push this tablet into a higher price bracket (over the others tablets) are the two features that I use the most. S-Pen: I LOVE THE S-PEN!!! Because I'm as old as your Gram-ma, sometimes I would prefer to hand write instead of type. Also, there is a option of turning my handwriting into a font. Split Screen: I also love to watch YouTube in one screen while cooking from a recipe that I have open in another screen. At the time of purchase, I had a hard time finding accessories for my tablet. (I didn't want a Samsung case) I think this is because buying an 8" note is not as common as a 7" or 10"; there were tons of accessories for those sizes. Side note, this Samsung Note 8 is helping me to learn more options on my Samsung Galaxy 3. Bonus! Thank you, you cute young Italian Salesman for so patiently explaining to me the difference between every single tablet you have on the floor. Thank you, Best Buy for so effortlessly price matching the price on this tablet not once, but two times. :)

It's a great tablet...I enjoy it very much. The favorite feature is the day planner as I no longer have to carry around my big, bulky, day planner. I really love the handwriting to text feature...it's really cool. It has so many features, I could go on forever. The battery life is really great and it's handy for me, for my work, for pleasure, for my grand kids to use...I would recommend this tablet.

Samsung Galaxy Note was purchased to give my grandson an advantage in school. We needed to show pictures to dispute a case against my sister's property. We were able to take the Sim card from my son's phone and place it in the note for high definition quality. The case was dismissed because the pictures were so defined that it proved to be a case of "mistaken property."

I really like this for work-related projects - the aNote HD app is really nice- can organize your work life nicely. Great for taking notes in class with the pen. Works amazingly well. Love the handwriting to text tranlation. Does a really good job of this. Carry it with me all of the time.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 has good speed for running aps. Also came with a good selection of bonus perks. I use it to stream HD movies flawlessly. Plus has a good selection of apps available in the android Realm. I have combined libraries from Nook, Kindle, and Google books so I can get the best deals on books. This is easy to carry and was a hit as a gift. It functions just as it should and there are times it is the best size for portability. There are other times I hear it would have been better to buy the 10 inch. Really think about how you want to use it and make your decision.

Great investment ever. Use if for everything I do. Easy and perfect to stick in my purse to take on the go and np one knows I have it in my purse. Use to have samsung tab 2 10" . For a man in his sixties and not all that 'Tech Savvy' it fits me perfectly. It has more than what I need at this point.And when I feel I dare look for more,it will guide me through the steps in a way even I can understand!

I have been an apple person for a while now however, I really like my note. I can personalize it, I love the widgets, it's easy to set up. For the price and everything you can do with the Note, it was a no brainer for me,

Small, compact, easy to use. So much easier to take with you than a laptop and does everything I need it to.

As a whole this could be cheaper. It's a Galaxy S3's guts, which has been out for over a year, and has a pretty old GPU chip. But if you want the S Pen, it's the best tablet out there, imo, and the IR feature makes it a pleasant universal remote, in my experience.

What I have figured out how to use I love...and the customer support by Best Buys has been great. Since I'm still stuck in the "dumb" phone era I'm not as intuitive as it would like me to be. The photo and video feature are so cool...I recorded the ocean and can listen to it whenever I want. I read a lot and love the portability and access to books whenever I want. It's has so many features for me to learn...I won't be bored for quite a while!

I really like the note and love the stylist. I use it for internet, calender to schedule appointments, take notes and draw art ideas on. I have yet to learn all that it can do but for a person who is an old dog with electronic I have really taken to this.

Samsung got it right again. I love my tablet! Its small, easy to use and has some amazing features. I love that it synced with my Samsung television and I can use it like a remote too. And the price is like a cherry on top. My ipad friends are jealous:)

This is a nice tablet. The display is bright and crisp; easy on the eyes. The user interface is snappy... I did not notice much in the way of lag. To my surprise, I was particularly impressed with the S-Pen and the apps written for it. I did not think I would like or ever use the stylus, but it turned out to be the highlight of the device. I have a stylus for my iPad and it works pretty well, but the tip is fat, so any sense of fine control is lost. There is also a problem with marks made when your hand rests on the screen. That is not a problem with the Note 8. The pen is responsive and accurate with no marks made by the side of your hand touching it. I do not know how they did it, but bravo Samsung! Android is a decent operating system, but still has a ways to catch up with Apple's iOS ecosystem. There does not seem to be that many Android apps optimized to tablets just yet. I know that is getting better all the time. One of the negatives for me is all of Samsung's TouchWiz bloatware. They have features like the display detecting if you are looking at the screen. If you look away the video stops playing or something like that. They also have a feature where you can advance through photos with a waving gesture instead of touching the screen. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why either of those things would be important. Anyway, the Note 8 is a nice tablet with great specs and an awesome s-pen. The screen is bright and sharp, the software is smooth. It is a great device for someone who is not deeply entrenched in Apple's eco-system.

We love our new Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. Even though we primarily use Mac and iOS devises we decided on the Samsung because it was less expensive than an iPad mini, has the option of upgrading the memory (which we did with a 64 GB microSD card - 80 GB total now, WOW!) and it has more functionality. No brainer!

Nice tablet, easy to use, really nice to take notes in the tablet, good size, nice screen

Excellent, well thougth device, nice picture quality and very fast, however i had to return it due to the tablet suddendly stop charging. One day after less than a week of light use I connect it and it would not charge at all. I tried the charger on a cell phone and it worked just fine so it was actually somehting inside the device. I lost confidence on the device quality and replaced it for an ipad mini.

This was for my wife at Christmas, she wanted the functionality the smart stylus provides, and the many apps that came with the Samsung tablet. I will probably look into getting a Samsung phone in a couple of years when my contract runs out on my current one, because these devices seem well done.
