    I had to return it because you needed the hub to go with it, yes I wish I had did a background check before purchasing it and taking it home and spending time on it and trying to figure out why it's not working.

    This is not what I wanted. I would have been nice if the box would have said that it needs a hub to use. I returned this. I'll stick to TP-Link. I never have an issue with them.

    Goole Nest not compatible for mine

    DId not work with my Google Nest. I was not happy with having to install yet another app to get it to work as was explained by manufacturer, yet it still did not work with my Google Nest.

    Inexpensive Light Bulb With Great Potential

    This is my review for the Samsung - SmartThings White A19 Smart LED Bulb - White. This device is a smart light bulb that you install in any light source, such as a living room lamp, and then integrate into the Samsung SmartThings hub. You would then use the SmartThings smartphone app to recognize the lightbulb, and then use it for turning the lightbulb on and off. This lightbulb is simply white, you can turn it on and off, and you can adjust the intensity (strength) of the light. From the standpoint of the functionality of a lightbulb, it seemed to do exactly that. Turn on light, turn off light, dim the light intensity. And also be able to control it from the SmartThings app remotely. So all those things were accomplished easily and quickly, and did not take any special skills. The SmartThings app easily setup the use of the lightbulb. The lightbulb integrates with the SmartThings hub, which must be installed on your Wi-Fi network and manages all SmartThings compatible devices in the location. The potential for the SmartThings light bulb is in automation. You use automations with your SmartThings hub for timings, or events on sensors and monitors (such as cameras) to automatically turn on lights. So although the lightbulb is simple and gets the job done as a lightbulb, the light can be integrated into a more robust setup with other products. Also, the price of the individual lightbulb seems very reasonable.

    This smart bulb only works with Samsung devices but it doesn’t say that anywhere it has the google smart logo and the amazon Alexa logo on it without saying it doesn’t work with either device so after a few frustrating attempts and Samsung is not user friendly I packed it up and returned it for a GE smart bulb which is user friendly and works with both amazon and google smart devices. Only buy this bulb if your smart home is on a Samsung device.

    The settings for this light bulb are not user friendly. Also the bulbs I replaced were the same lumens and same color but the Samsung bulbs seemed dimmer.

    With many smart bulbs out there, here are the pros and cons: Pros: bright! Dimmable from 800 lumens down. Easy to install. Use with smart things Con: requires a hub, so if you don't have one, you'll have to purchase it as well.

    The SmartThings Smart Bulb was easy to set up using the SmartThings app on my Android phone, the only hiccup was that the app first instructed me to install the bulb, and THEN it asked to scan the QR code on the side of the bulb (which, once installed, was hidden by the light fixture). Hopefully in future software versions, they'll swap the order of those two steps. Note: You'll need a SmartThings or compatible hub if you don't already have one. That's the device that bridges the gap between your home network and many SmartThings devices. Once the bulb was installed and set up, controlling it from the app or from my Google Assistant was very easy. The bulb comes on and off as instructed, and dims between 1 and 100% smoothly. The app lets you specify any dimming percentage between 1 and 100%, but in reality, the bulb seems to have more like 10% increments. That is, I can't see much difference between 5% and 10%, but I can see a difference between 10% and 20%. The bulb feels sturdy and well built. The light seems to be a soft white... it's definitely a warmer hue than, say, a bright white LED or fluorescent bulb. Overall, this SmartThings bulb does exactly what it's supposed to do. I'm very happy with it, and would recommend it to others.

    If you don’t have the Smart Things hub you won’t be able to use, so if you are planning in buying don’t forget your hub.
