It was easy to install . I love having an app on my phone

Bought this motion sensor to trigger my upstairs HVAC. Now it only runs when someone is upstairs. Wish it came in black as well.

I have a SmartThings hub, but until now, that's it. I tend to use Monoprice Z-wave products. This was on sale, and I had a Best Buy Rewards credit, so I pulled the trigger on this. I use this sensor to turn on my living room lights when I walk in. So far, so good. If i had to pay full price, monoprice has much better deals.

Failed to monitor motion at 5feet distance. I need to use 2of this to cover my 11x13 room.

Item works great. Able to sync with smartthings hub with no problems. Nice to have lights come on without having to touch a switch or button.

I have four already and they are working wonderful with my SmartThings hub in conjunction with my hue Lights, recommended buy for sure.

The angle of motion sensing is not that huge. At best it's about 50 degrees from normal, so you have 100 degrees across, but vertically it's actually less. Vertically the sensor appears to catch motion closer to 25 degrees, which is very narrow. Keeping it up high, like above a door, is not ideal. You really want it around hip height. It also only focuses on two points of motion, so walking towards it in a straight line will not trip it, you have to move laterally, so off angle placement in a corner might be the best bet. The poll rate is about 2 seconds I believe, or at least the effective poll rate is. Also not ideal for areas like entryways where you might be running in, or on stairs...

Purchased this sensor as an add on for the SmartThings system. Easy to install and so far works consistently. No complaints here!

Works out in a few cases to turn on a night light at night or a foyer light at night when someone comes in late. Very easy to setup. Only drawback (not a deal killer) is that sometimes it takes a little bit to register montion. But simple to set on a shelf or ledge around the house. Battery life seems very, very good.

I wanted to tie all of my wireless devices together like camera's, smart plugs, and doorbell. This looked like the best overall hub out there. I have been pleased however I wish it had a broader range of devices it will control. In saying that I have seen a few more coming on since my purchase. Overall a good hub.

Samsung - SmartThings Motion Sensor - White does what it claims and makes it easy to automate actions when motion happens.

Set up home automation. Now I walk into room and lights come on. You can see the temp in your rooms too. Works great.

Works great with the SmartThings hub. Once or twice had to pull the battery and reset after a power outtage.
